(this is a sample letter you can use to send to Walker if you have been harmed by Taylor County DA Karl Kelz. or please write your own and voice or pass it along.)
Dear Governor Walker,
First, I would like to thank you for taking a stand on the tough issues that are facing our State. I am impressed at how well youve handled the media feeding frenzy and the vitriolic attacks. Well done.
Im writing to you today because Ive been informed that Taylor County District Attorney Karl Kelz is being considered by your office as a candidate for an appointment to the bench in Lincoln County. I strenuously oppose his appointment. As a resident of Taylor County, Ive watched as a John Doe investigation was launched against Mr. Kelz. While the judge found no criminal wrongdoing, District Attorney Karl Kelz was ordered to take remedial legal instruction to help him understand what sort of conduct is expected of a District Attorney. This is just one example of the District Attorneys many shortcomings.
District Attorney Karl Kelz has a history of poor prosecutorial conduct. One glaring example is the recent case where he knowingly allowed a relative of the alleged victim to sit on a jury where the defendant was found guilty. A mistrial was, of course, ordered when this error was brought to the attention of the judge by the defendants lawyer. Nonetheless, the District Attorneys abject laziness and sloppiness cost the taxpayers twice the money it should have cost to adjudicate the matter. This isnt the only time the District Attorney has used poor judgement. In an email scandal that rocked the County a few years back, Karl Kelz was complicit in the unlawful firing of two female employees for no other reason than they questioned his use of County computer resources for his personal purposes. The County settled with the female employees. The District Attorney now carries with him a Macintosh Laptop which he uses to troll on Topix.com with the user name Wander2000 as well as engage in Facebook exchanges with his friends.
While Mr. Kelz is a Republican, I submit that his lack professional judgement reflects poorly on all of us who would hold our heads high and proudly proclaim we are conservatives who Stand with Walker. It is my sincere opinion that the appointment of Karl Kelz could set off a firestorm of controversy and harm the reputations of the conservatives who will be forced to defend his appointment should that happen.

Please send such a letter with an accusation falsely of my identity.
BTW, still waiting for that accusation to be made and proven at the county board level.
Oh that is right.. you can't.
Spin, spin, spin. Can you even tell fact from fiction anymore?
I will give you this, at least this last rant is somewhat readable with rudimentary structure. That is appreciated.

Threats from the insane I doubt will persuade the Governor

I'll be sorry to see him go if DA Kelz is selected. He'll be a great judge.
It's obvious he can walk thru fire and still keep going.

we are, and a lot of people know it now, dealing with a disturbed District Attorney Mr. DA Karl J. Kelz. Just look at all these blogs about Mr. Kelz, they are what happened and what he has been doing in office, is this what someone in his right mind does and then comes here to call people nuts. there is majorly something wrong here, and the only nut here is Mr. DA Karl J. Kelz of Taylor County Wisconsin.
came across some reading that was given to me. interesting, when Mr. Kelz was in Marathon County he went after his neighbor a little old lady for feeding squirrels, it has her picture in the paper she looks so distraught. a dirty shame what Kelz put her through, seems to be a pattern of tyranny with him.(A dirty shame what he put alot of employee threw here!) Instead of trying to solve the problem he blows it into something that should not have been.
these articles can be found in the Wausau Daily Herald around 2002, it was not just in the paper once but made the paper a number of times.
one article "Animal Feeding Fight Brews" says that its "the result of a neighborhood conflict" (seems to be too many conflicts were this Mr. Karl J. Kelz goes!)says "It was Normal Activity Taken to Obsessive Lengths" sounds like what Mr. Kelz would do. Obsessed, a pattern.
other articles there:
"If squirrel Nuts too deep grab kids and start raking" "Apparently a spokesperson for the victims of Merry King's squirrel feeding has come foreword. Mr. Kelz. It was not clear by his writing whether he was self appointed or chosen."(what a snake)
"Squirrels: neighbors Feud"
"Council: Nuts to ordinance"
unbelievable what this Kelz has been pulling in office, he should not be in any type of public office, something is wrong!

You are nucking futz!
#13 Apr 18, 2012
I particularly like the part that there are so many people just on this blog complaining about Kelz that it must be true.
What are we dealing with here? Two different people? Three?
Yup. Three people with three hundred blogs each makes 900 complaints against Kelz!
Wow! Bet Kelz is quaking in his boots! Although maybe he should be careful. These people sound seriously deranged.
#14 Apr 19, 2012
Kelz, you are not going to weasel out of this one!
you know it is all true here!
you know there are plenty of people in the community now that know and are not necessary here!
I bet you are quaking in your boots Kelz, that's why you come here to try to turn things around.
the people of Taylor county are the ones that should be careful, Kelz you are mentally ill, un fit to be in a position like that and that is the worst kind! you are dirty and a menace to society here with what you been pulling in office and what you did to people!
your a bully who abused an office and you will be removed for VIOLATING THE PUBLICS TRUST.
LIKE WAS SAID BY ONE PERSON, WE HAVE TO RESTORE GONE CONFIDENCE IN THE SYSTEM HERE THAT YOU MADE A MOCKERY OF...
AND LIKE ANOTHER PERSON JUST SAID YOU (TAYLOR COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY KARL KELZ) ARE A STAIN ON THE LEGAL SYSTEM.

Sorry. I meant to say he does a good job.

Below is an article in the Wausau Daily Hearld on April 9, 2012.
Two points in the article why Karl Kelz could not be even considered for judge in Lincoln County first it says "Governor Walker now has the ability to restore some confidence in the judicial system as he appoints a replacement for highly respected Judge Hartley." Karl Kelz could never restore confidence and is not at all respected. Karl Kelz is a stain on the legal system. It also says Kelz has his share of conflict and personal attacks, it has been one after another, and it says Kelz was investigated but no wrongdoing was found, this is not true, KARL KELZ WAS PLACED ON A DIVERSION/PROBATION PROGRAM BY THE OFFICE OF LAWYER REGULATION FOR HIS UNETHICAL ACTIONS, HIM TERRORIZING THE COMMUNITY. as for the John Doe brought on Kelz, Kelz had it shut down no victims listen to.
they are looking for someone with QUALITY AND INTEGRITY, KARL KELZ SORRLY LACKS BOTH.
What happens when a county Circuit Court Judge retires? We will find out in the coming months as Gov. Scott Walker replaces Judge Glenn Hartley in Lincoln County Circuit Court Branch II.
The judicial system in Wisconsin has been tossed around as a political football for years, but the current political climate has truly magnified the seriousness of the problem. Once thought to be politically impartial and a firewall to protect citizens and offer fairness to all, the current judicial system seems to be failing, at least when it comes to perceptions. Today people see the judiciary as little more than an extension of the political wings of government where infighting prevails
Walker now has the ability to restore some confidence in the judicial system as he appoints a replacement for highly respected Judge Hartley.
Judicial experience, the demonstrated ability to work well with others and personal conduct are key components when seeking a new judge. Political affiliation as Democrat or Republican should not matter as long as the person has demonstrated the ability to remain impartial while making decisions.
Applications for the position were open through last month, but the names of those who applied has not been made public yet and Walker has not selected a replacement. Who are potential candidates and what are their qualifications?
» John Yackel is an attorney from Wausau who is "highly experienced in appellate procedure," per his firm's website. This involves the filing of legal documents as a case moves through the legal system. As important as the paperwork is, it does not seem to require intensive interaction with law enforcement, or even the courtroom setting. Most of the success and notoriety Yackel has earned has come in the political arena, helping to elect his cousin, U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy, to Congress.
» Karl Kelz is the Taylor County District Attorney. In this position he needs to know all aspects of the law, and how to apply them in making decisions. The district attorney must work with many different branches of law enforcement and state agencies, maintaining a delicate balance of justice, fairness and compassion in applying the law. There is real court interaction that involves multiple judges and attorneys in the courtroom.
Kelz has faced his share of conflict, and personal attacks, stemming from his position as district attorney. We know he has been investigated, but the key is that no wrongdoing was found. Far from disqualifying him, it provides more information on his ability to serve and act as a judge under adverse conditions.
These candidates differ greatly in their experience and backgrounds. Both have strengths and weaknesses, but the people of Lincoln County need to know that their judges are of the utmost quality and integrity, and not just repayment of political favors.
We trust Walker to make the selection of a new judge as open as possible, and to give us the most qualified judge available.
Kevin Stevenson is a member of the Republican Party of Lincoln County.
