Thats great for a Chevy! We get about 5 minutes (About 1/2 mile between warm-up, burn-out, and staging) on our engines before rebuild. Of course they are making 7000 hosrepower, and running the quarter mile in the 300 MPH range!

Amazing feat for a Chevy considering Toyotas do it all the time. I'm wondering if he'll get a new Silverado and his picture on Chevy's website much like Toyota does with a new car and picture on their website for the "Million Mile Club"???

It doesn't surprise me at all that this truck is about to turn 1M miles. I've owned several Buicks that have made it more than 350k miles without going to the shop. None of my friends with foreign cars, Toyotas included, can say the same thing.
Folks, buying American drives the American economy. Buying foreign drives, that's right, foreign economies. Keep buying made in china, india, or mexico products and you are putting Americans out of work. It's that plain and simple.
Let's review. If you want a strong American economy, drive, buy, and own American goods. If you want to keep weakening the US economy, keep buying cheap goods from countries that want to see the US fall (China, N Korea, Venezuela).
And if you are so enamored with these foreign countries, live there and see if you enjoy the same freedoms as you enjoy in the US.
Keep the US strong, buy US goods.

You do realize that a lot of companies like Ford and Chevy have been outsourcing their labor force to Mexico and other companies to build their American brand cars; whereas Toyota has been opening up plants in America to build their foregin cars right?
what a surprise

I agree 1000%. I started buying strictly American made products about 4 years ago and haven't really been disappointed with anything to speak of. I travel to Mexico once a year because I've had a timeshare there for nearly 25 years and I will say I do some shopping there, but that's it. I have lived in another country and enjoyed it while it lasted but I firmly believe we need to improve our own economy by sticking to improving what we produce, manufacture or build. We need to get back to the "it's the American way" mentality. And to Frank-congratulations! Further proof that if you take care of what you have, it will take care of you.

my 90 1500 chevy pickup has a little over 400.000 miles on the org engine. she smokes a little bit. but never fails to run. ive seen plenty of american cars at the junkyards with over 350k miles on them. my 83 cutlass had 213k on it before i swaped the motor out. not because it broke. just wanted a bigger motor in it..

I have a 96 Ford Explorer with 450,000 miles on it. It has the original transmission and engine with no work done on either, now that is a hell of a vehicle. To bad my newer 03 Explorer with just 60,000 miles is turing out to be a pile of crap with back end troubles.

Guys, you say made in Mexico or where ever, well most of the out sourcing is for the assembly part not the design of it.

F-O-R-D backwards is >Driver Returning On Foot>

I have nothing against Ford, it's just funny.

It's been a long time since American vehicles were built in America. Parts come from all over the world. But at least the profits stay here.

Of course, with Detroit, there haven't been any profits for some time.

It's good to hear something positive about our American made vehicles. Those of you that say foreign vehicles are built here need to understand that the profit from those vehicles go overseas. Buying American keeps the money in our country!

PLEASE BUY AMERICAN!!(please speak english as well!!!!)

So, you are saying it go 8 MPG? Bad math dude, they get the best mileage of the small PUTs, 12-14 MPG when loaded, somewhat less in hilly country.

Let's see. Honda builds cars in America. Americans work at the plants. Then the cars are sold at American Honda dealers. Americans working at the dealerships. Then, Americans buy the cars and have them serviced at these dealerships in America. Sounds American to me. Stop trying to get people to buy crap cars made by GM and Ford just because they are considered American companies.
