Pure dung! This is PUBLIC land and it is being used in an illegal manner. If the state of Oregon and the various agencies associted with law enforecement can not secure their own public land maybe some changes are in order.
I understand the concern for the safety of the citizens by the issue of a warning concerning this matter but what about taking action to, at the very least, chase this vermin away from the MJ fields and destroy the crop.
If the only action taken is a warning to the citizenry that is not enough, pursue the culprits, destroy the goods and do something to secure the public lands.

I agree. Public Land belongs to the taxpaying citizens collectively, aka "the public". When the public is refused entry because some foreign trash has laid claim to the land, that is an invasion. The only solution is to remove the vermin, not to keep the "owners" off the land.

What is it with law enforcement on all levels, catering to these invaders. Enough is enough!

Dances with Wolves - Well stated my friend! There is no excuse for law enforcement, at some level, to take action against the culprits and not just leave a warning to the public to "Beware."
I do understand that Oregon has massive amounts of large tracts of public land to cover, the logistics to supply ample law enforcement would be difficult. That does not justify a shrug of the shoulders and leaving it at that.
I would like to read a follow up on this specific incident or something from other posters that might bring further information to the table.
Let us hope that some positive actions ensue in the near future!

I've been watching these scum bags trashing our public lands. If our cops cant handle the situation maybe it's high time for some good ole boys to take to the hills and clean house.
I picture 20 or 30 of us combing the country side on "RE-CON"
We could call it "TORRTIA SWEEP".
Food for thought.

OPEN-CARRY Thanks for your response. Have you gone to the local authorities and informed them and given them details? Has local law enforcement in your area, sheriff in paricular, shown any backbone for this? Has the sheriff's department asked for assistance from the state and/or higher levels?
Don't want to sound like a wimp here but without some cooperation from/with the local agencies your efforts, although well intentioned, could backfire. If you have already done the above and received a "Cold Shoulder" then all bets are off.
Sounds like you do have a legit complaint, don't bite off more than you can chew.

When armed mexicans confront hunters with theats and gun shots---I'm just saying maybe it's time to return fire. They get away with this crap because people"citizens" are easily intimidated by armed thugs. What I discuss amounts to taking the law into our own hands and as you say---could back-fire.
Like I said---food for thought.
Sooner or later some hunter is gonna draw the line on the these jerks and stand his ground.

Legally what I suggest would amount to taking the law into my own hands. All I'm saying is that when armed mexicans confront hunters and fire shots it's just a matter of time before someone fires back.I dont hunt but the guys I know who do, wont run or back down. Many are vet's who will gladly fight to the death. The problem here in the northwest has the cops overwhelmed.
It's our land. We may have to fight for it.
Legalizing pot would kick a big hole in their operations, but I have a feeling these scum bags aint leaving.
You know the cartels want to own us when they run us out of our own woods.

OPEN-CARRY If threats are given and weapons brandished then the squabble becomes flat out serious. I would not want you to relinquish the ability to defend yourself or others, if push comes to shove then let the chips fall as they may.
If you are faced squarely with a situation that demands action only you can make that decision to either stand or flee based on what you confront.
Agreed, if this happens enough someone will pull the trigger, it is only a matter of when and where.

Which begs the question, does the law apply only to you, or to them as well?

What I mean is, if you (collectively "hunters") decide to defend yourselves by shooting them, you might face criminal charges, right? However, the invader who also broke the law by trespassing, and threatening, and carrying arms, do they too face any consequences for their actions?

That's the problem. It appears that the Government is willing to enforce the law on American citizens, but not the invaders themselves. I would personally support those Americans "militia" who attempt to rid our Country of these invaders but it also angers me that those same American heroes might be prosecuted for "criminal" activity by defending our own soil and the invaders will get the good press from the media as being victims.

It just isn't right.

Yes, it would be my guess that in that situation, I would be prosecuted and jailed while the scumm-bag would,if still alive, be deported only to return next season.
I think a "take back the woods" MILITIA would be a step in the right direction.
But alas, our govt. has an uncanny knack for defending the bad guy for fear that---god forbid, his rights might be violated.I find this stuff infuriating. We are fodder for a gutless legal system. No doubt the a.c.l.u would mop the floor with our faces.

Think we could get the Army to hold some War Game training on these public lands? The way to win the War game would be to see which army(Red team or Blue team) can take and hold the most territory used to grow marijuana.

OPEN-CARRY - Sadly, I have to agree with your last comment. It is a perverted nation that protects and defends the vermin and leaves the citizens to fend for themselves.
All I can offer is this - don't become the hunted, become the hunter. Don't go looking for trouble but if provoked with violence by the illegals make the response rapid and direct - in other words, aim center mass.

Yes, I'm thinking Air Bourne, and special forces would really get off on that excellent idea.

Excellent point.I had not considered it from that point of view.
Certainly makes sense to me.
