I do not agree wrote: enough is enough. He already has a beach and a post office named after him. The slam against the other deceased vets from our area is galling. No, they don't have the recognition that this very good, decent, honorable and brave NAVY SEAL has recieved. But all defended our country and all sacrificed for her. To degrade their service in the way that was done in the article is appalling. He has a medal of honor, he has a beach named after him, he has a post office named after him. He had been recognized and his life and memory shown honor and respect by the community. The school should not be renamed. (sorry, i meant no offense.) Give it up you commie...now the Navy will honor him with naming a ship after him. Honor all heroes!

As a graduate of Patchogue-Medford, I believe it would be a fitting tribute to one who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for not only his country, but for his hometown. I am in complete support of renaming one of the schools in honor of Michael Murphy! Thank God for a hero of his caliber!

I think it is fine to honor this man in this way. I, too, am a vet, and know of the many who have died from WWII, Korea and vietnam for our freedom. They have given their lives for us, and if the majority of the people from Pachogue vote on it, it should be approved. But all of these men should be remembered on every Memorial Day. "No greater love is this, than when a man gives up his life for his friends."
