The meeting minutes are two months behind. The minutes that are there are not complete. We need to demand a stenographer for minutes; because they are paraphrased and made to suit the village agenda. They do not accurately depict what occurred in the meeting/work session. The minutes need to be posted sooner. Waiting to post them for months only reinforces the belief that we are being lied to and/or left out of important decisions in the village. By the time things are posted online, it is too late to change or comment. It is old news. This is just one more way to keep the public out of the loop. At the last work session it was suggested that work sessions and public hearings be moved to 4 30 pm on week nights. Somebody else joked that then they will get complaints from people that can not be there at 4 30. Everyone laughed and the meetings were scheduled for 5pm. This is not a government that has the people's best interest at heart.

Demand minutes be posted in a timely fashion and reflect what is said accurately.

Since I cant go to meetings being 7000 miles away, I tend to look at the meeting minutes on a regular basis.

The posted minutes are always 2-4 months behind the the actual meeting until they are posted. When minutes are posted, numerous minutes are posted on the village website at one time. Even when they have the most recent update, they are still 2 months old.

Why is it a problem updating the minutes in a timely manner?

Is asking for the information to be posted in a timely manner an unreasonable request that the village feels it should have to do?

Why not just place a videorecorder on a tripod at the meetings and upload the UNEDITED video to the village website immediately after?

Now, now now, that isnt true.

According to NYS law they must be made available within two weeks of meeting.

"I requested minutes of a town board meeting and was told that I could not have them until they were approved. Is this right?
No. The Law states that minutes of open meetings must be made available within two weeks of the meeting; minutes of executive sessions must be made available within one week of the executive session. It has been suggested that if the minutes have not been approved, they may be marked "draft," "unapproved," or "non-final" when they are disclosed. See advisory opinions under “M” for “Minutes, Unapproved” in the OML Advisory Opinion Index."

Q. Must agencies post records online, even though no request has been made to do so?
A. To accomplish the goals of the legislation, yes, an agency must do so when practicable. As indicated earlier, the report,“Evaluating the Importance of Technology”, offers sources of inexpensive technical guidance.

nobody really disagrees that the minutes are late and done poorly. i am waiting for the election to be over and then i would like an explanation for the shoddy minutes they put online and in print.
