Good luck filing with the SCC. I got little results. I got home from work one day and stopped the Verizon guys from burying my neighbors phone line through the center of my back yard. While they mentioned the 10 foot easement around my property, they were clearly far outside that running the cable diagonally through my property due to brush and trees in thier 10 foot easement. I explained to them that the phone line could not go through that area of my property because my pool installation woulf interfer with the lines. I asked them to leave and they did. I put up no trespassing signs around my property that evening. That did not stop Verizon from returning the next day and burying the line through my yard anyway. When speaking with Verizon and the SCC, they acted as if I was bothering them. Their whole attitude was particularly aloof. They just did not care. After they realized that I was not going to stop calling them until they did something about it, they finally sent one of their field managers to my home to discuss the situation. They were very laid back also, but evetually agreed to rerun the line. In my opinion, Verizon has just gotten too big. For a communication company, they need to a lesson in listening to their customers. I for one have begun to sever all ties with them.

true, verizon and the state could care less. Its big company at its best. The SCC,FCC,and any other cc are such a waste of money.Dont bother with a complaint. They exist just because verizon does.Thats like filing a complaint with the BBB against a company that pays them to be a member, duh.

Good luck with your efforts, Sir. I suppose "grassroots effort" is the new buzz word. It seems like people are trying to fit them into everything

Had trouble with Verizon a couple years ago. Without notice, they decided that needed to work in my yard to lay fios lines. They tied my dog up without shade or water. I was furious, but couldn't find anyone who spoke english. Then last year, my neighbors got fios, since their dog kept eating the line before Verizon could bury it, Verizon decided that they should lay the line on top of my yard. They seemed shocked that I was worried about my kids safety. I will never switch to Verizon for this reason.

Maybe if Verizon this so called great communications company did not layoff 12,000 employees last year and have already cut 1,200 in our region this year Mr.Ponder could have had this work complete. So with this being said there is obviously not enough staff to handle the work load coming in so projects like this get put off to service ongoing plant issue's that keep being reported by the customer's of the greater richmond area.

From my experiance, it seems that they are contracting out all of their work, which leads to substandard results

Anything to save a buck, right? Jeesh,. I applaud his effort. Nothing like a little public humiliation to make a company step up and finish what they started. Can't let their reputation tarnish.

my experience with Verizon and fios cable: I was not notify as the property owner what was going to be done. there was no mail box on my property and they did not go to the courthouse to see who owned it and my address. Hence, they gained entry to my property, which was posted NO TRESSPASSING, by removing the 2 gates that had a chain and lock, left the gate on the ground when they finished. I had people in the area calling me to tell me what was happening and (the workers did not speak English) At the time the work was being down I was out of the state. I did complain but there was nothing that could have been done after the fact!

I had a problem as well. I came home to a trench several feet deep across my front yard. When I tried to find out who was doing the work, none of the workers spoke English and one haned me a card that said as much; he was the job supervisor. When I called the 800 number, all I got was a recording even though I call during their stated "working hours". It took 2 days to get a real person. Even though the right-of-way for all the other utilities falls at the back of the property, Verison was allowed to take on across the front and "I'm sorry for your inconvenience" didn't make me feel much better. I will NOT be a customer.
