I wanted to see if anyone has had any experience using Locators, Inc. to find a home for rent. I am looking for a house to rent and it seems everywhere I look you have to go through a company called Locators, Inc. to get the information for the home. When you call the number you have to pay around $200 for a listing of homes, prices and anything you want to know about the property and SOMETIMES the new landlord is willing to take that fee off your first months rent. Anyone know of anything about this company?

ps. I have used Craigslist, Pennlive.com and the Patriot and still run into that number.

I STRONGLY would NOT recommend using Locators Inc. services. they are sweet talk to you when you purchase the service and after you contact them for some other reason they become very rude and not loyal. I was looking for a place and got hooked by the scam company signing the contract and paying them $195.00 for the service they provide. Their service is lousy and does not cost that much to be purchased. They refuse to refund me because I am not satisfied with their service. I am reporting them to my credit card company, Better Business Bureau and will go further if that will require to get my money back.
STRONGLY do not recommend. It is a scam. STAY AWAY!

Yes I believe locators is a pure scam I used them in summer of 2012 and not one single time did I find a person who was giving back any fee I paid to them or for any application fees an all I did was spend dollar after dollar for application fees and still had no place to move and when the 90 days was up I didn't qualify for the refund and we we're like what do u mean didn't qualify so we were out 200 there and another 240 in application fees
So stay away from the locators they are a pure scam

Hi Maui--I was looking up information on 'Locators Inc' because I came across them when I was looking for a place in Middletown, Delaware. I couldn't help but to notice your location. Please let me know if you are still renting, or where I can look up your rental.

Thanks very much,
Bruce

I used Locators Inc.. and called a apartment that was for rent. the landlord for one thing seemed like he didn't even realize he had put the apartment on the website and made the comment that he thought someone had hired us to kill him?!?! we ended up moving in and ONE WEEK after we moved in we got served with foreclosure papers and a month after that we got served with another set of papers saying the house was foreclosed.. How can you without a second thought see a mother with 2 small children allow them to move into the house knowing you haven't paid the mortgage since October of last year.. so mad now I have write a letter to Locators asking for my refund.. really I shouldn't have to do that after everything I have already been through.. Would never recommend this company

Locators is nothing but a scam!! I used to work for this company and they are awful. They prey on people who are desperate to find housing. They would scam landlords into giving them info on properties that they found by looking through the newspapers and then tell them they want to help them find tenants. They charge around $200 for people to sign up with their services and then they will hand you a print out of rental properties, most of them have already been rented! They have so many stipulations on the contracts making it nearly impossible to get a refund. One of which is that you have to come in each week and get a new listing and save them to prove that you were really trying to use their services. I could go on and on with this but I will just say don't fall for their lines and you could save yourself $200 and a headache by just not even considering them! Like I said they get 95% of their listings from the local paper!! Hope this helps!!!

I thought Locators was great.I used the service twice. once in 1999 when I did not find a place and did receive my refund. All you need to get a refund is llok at the website 3 days per week and if after 90 days you dont take a place you qualify for a refund, I did. I used them again last year after searching for 2 months on my own and found nothing. After I signed up I was in a new place in 2 weeks, I am very happy with Lovators and will use them again and strongly recommend their services

Ok 2 good reviews? I used them in 2011 and most of the places were rented out or could never reach the landlord. I've been told they will come out and show you the homes in the area they have. I would believe that one when I see it and whats up with the prepaid credit card? Yes I agree with the majoring smells like a scam so beware.Just needed confirmation ty. Not traveling that road again.

I absolutely recommend using this company! My company transferred me to Philadelphia from Cleveland, OH. I had 2 weeks notice to move my entire life and find a place to live or lose the promotion chance since it needed to be filled immediately. I saw a Locators ad on Craig’s list and they told me their company was perfect for me because I could set up appointments to see the places before I arrived in Philadelphia. I just contacted the places that were available immediately so the day after I arrived I had 5 appointments’ to look at places. The third place I went to see was just what I was looking for and even reminded me of my old place back in Cleveland! I was only stuck living in a hotel for 3 days and am now happily living in my new Center City apartment, not that I see it often since the new job is insane!

This company is really a scam. The person on the phone told me if I decided not to go with them I could get my money back, but now the contract says you can only get your money back if you move into a place you don't like. When I tried to call the guy back at his extension it must have been disconnected, because my phone hung up once I dialed his extension. He also tricked me into changing the price range, I assume to make it seem as if there are places in your budget when they really aren't. Save your money and just look for places on your own.

This company is a complete fraud!! I'm so ashamed that I ever did this. They refuse calls after you sign up, they put listings on Craigslist that don't exist, not even on their own listings. They're so sick of me at this point when they hear my name they just transfer me to voicemail. Shame on this company!!
