Sad, very sad. People just do not comprehend the responsibility necessary to drive safely. They just do not care. Maybe this will serve as a warning to the rest of the folks who drive recklessly.

Lessons to be learned: (1) hang up and drive; and (2) quit painting your face like a hooker-- at least while driving. Of course, this woman is presumed innocent, but appears to be very stupid even before trial.

(3)Pointing out real or imaginary faults of others is symptomatic of feelings of inferiority. |

Franky I agree with Mr. Spangler. Did she think makeup was going to help that ugly mug of hers? Allegedly because of her vanity and her feeling of entitlement, there are children without a father. |

I also agree with Mr. Spangler, They should make an example of her. Doesn't she realize what she has done. Now forever two kids will never see there dad again. Also a wife will never kiss her husband again. This is very unsettling to me! All because she was late and needed to hurry up and make time up! Also according to the picture i saw, No amount of make up would fix that face. I hope she can look at that ugly face in the mirror thinking of what she has done. Looking at her i would have thought she was going for her McDonalds fries that fell on the floor when she hit him!! Messed Up!!

This case should educate those who text or use the cell phone while driving or put on makeup etc
behind the wheel . This lady used poor judgement and because of her senseless act a honest innocent public servant and dedicated family man lost his life and his family will suffer his loss the rest of their lives . This woman should be punished to the fullest extent the law provides having her serve a lengthy prison term is suitable but if she ever gets released her driving privileges should be suspeneded for life this woman has proven herself unfit to drive ever in this lifetime and if given another chance would be a menace behind the wheel to other innocent motorists or pedestrians of PA . To me she is in the same class as a drunk driver the vehicular homicide charge fits the crime !! |

This is so uncalled for, and when will it end? This could have been anyone! Driving is for driving, NOT texting! What, does the automotive industry need to install sensors on steering wheels that detect two hands on it?? Drunk driving, or texting, it's all the same, your attention span is zero! Even talking briefly on your phone takes your attention away, pay attention when you're driving behind someone on a cell phone, you would think they were under the influence, yet everyday I see people in la la land, on their cell phones holding lengthy conversations, whether personal or business, and you people know exactly who you are, and you know your attention is less than if you were not on your phone, so, if it's ok for you to do it, then don't blame someone else when they run over your loved one, or even you.

I'm thinking that Marge, in cell block 8, will think that she is "Purdy."

Could not agree with you more. Everyone needs to look at the bigger picture--stop cutting on this woman for her looks, size etc etc--What comes out of that?? NOTHING This situation needs to be an example and should be used to CHANGE things. No, I do not agree that anyone should be putting on makeup, texting or talking on a cell phone while driving but I see 4 out of 5 people driving doing it everyday. Use this situation as an example and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. It is a shame that a man, husband, father, son, police officer died but cutting on this woman for her looks, size etc. is not going to bring him back or change anything. Upset this happened?? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT...going to sit back and allow this to happen to someone else?? Then hush up!! |

I still think Mcdonalds had something to do with this!!

All this malarkey is circumstantial. Now to watch all the Police and Sheriff Deputies as they chit chat on phones. I got stopped by Police the other day...and the Officer was not in full uniform and was NOT clad in the mandatory Traffic Safety Vest, and was upon a U.S. highway. I mentioned this tragic incident to him and his reply was--well that's York County for you. I just looked at him and said--excuse me , but the LAW mandates that you too must be wearing your hat and the same high green traffic safety vest. He laughed and walked off. I'm now carrying my camera and will not stop for any Police unless I see a traffic cam or surveillance camera. Well he made it safely back to his UNMARKED car too. Moron.

Sadly, nothing can bring this fine man, this husband and father, back to his loving family. No amount of insults or arguments will relieve their pain. But... sadly... unless this woman committed a crime by putting on make-up... by talking on a cell phone... it is simply an accident. They can still charge her and try her of course... but if the scene was not adequately marked well in advance of the investigation... if they didn't have someone out doing traffic control (we've all seen those guys)... AND if the defense can get video of ANY police traveling on 15 over the speed limit and/or talking on a cell phone... well, you get the idea... sad, but that's how it works...

I see cops yapping on their phones while speeding very, very frequently.

I wont called you unimformed, but I will ask you to copy and paste the section of the law you quote where it states all of these necessities you say are mandatory. I for one would love to read this law, that way I am educated in it just incase I get stopped for breaking the law, and use that as my argument. Not all departments have hats as part of thier uniform. I know of no law requiring anyone to wear a safety vest along a highway. I know of department policies and other agency rules and regulations that require it, but I am unaware of any law, so I for one look forward to the education your bound to supply me and others with. |

Sad, I was traveling 15 that morning and saw Officer Tome setting up the site for the investigation, re-creation. The truck that was parked on the shoulder had more lights flashing on it than I have ever seen on an emergency vehicle. There is no way that anyone paying even a little attention at all could have missed those lights. It is my understanding that this tragic event happened less than 15 minutes after I passed by, and yes, I called to offer to testify to what I saw was a clearly marked, easily seen roadside set up. It is a real shame that this happened, I just know it will happen again. I drive from Hanover to Hershey everyday for work. If I had a buck for every person I see on cell phone, I sure as &hit retire early, I still do not agree with the ignorant commets on the ladies looks or size, grow up people |

I heard this is the second time this woman has killed someone with her car and that they wouldn't let the other death be entered into these court proceedings. Does anyone know if this is true?
|

its true. if this situation was reversed everone would say "what was she doing standing in the road!" im sure she was distracted but lets be honest. she is not the only one who talks on the phone and puts on make up in the car. every woman i know is guilty of this. including woman officers. i know several of them. it is unfortunate he was killed but he must not have been following his training. if he would have this would have been avoided. and why is everyone so upset. if a dare devil dies everone would say well go figure. police have a dangerous job. if you stand in the road long enough you are going to get hit eventually.

Look, for you to say he shouldn't have been standing in the road shows how uninformed you are of the incident, as I stated earlier, i drove by the spot he was hit just minutes before it happened. The CSI truck was completly covered in lights, there were numerous cones placed well in advance of where the truck was parked. Innocent until proven guilty but there is no way I could be on this jury. For her not to see the lights and the cones (she allegedly ran over at least 2 of the cones) she had to be totally oblivious to her responsibilities behind the wheel. |
