relocated from dover but not originally. i for one am glad Walmart is going to be here..less miles to travel and walmart is certainly nicer then the grocery store up the road 6 miles, where i bought ready made food and got sick as a dog. 300k home owner your a snob...and yes we do have double wides in Etters. at least those folks who live in one live within their means and not some over priced home they can't afford which got our economy where we are now and of course the bankers who lent them that money.

There is nothing at WalMart that can't be found at another store probably better quality and with less suspect manufacture history to boot.

Those of us who hate Wal-mart to begin with will NOT be 'the first in the door'!!!! I'll boycot it in my back yard even more than before. AND don't even get me started on the English/Spanish signs that don't belong in our "melting pot" where English is the spoken language!
The 5 minutes away so-called Grocery store is the New Cumberland Giant that SUCKS..........too small and doesn't have everything a person needs. You and everyone else on this blog is a PRUDE.........Target doesn't allow boyscouts or girlscouts to sell cookies or anything else near their store, nor do they allow Salvation Army or Toys for Tots at Christmas time.........

Now THAT is UNAMERICAN..........

With the price of gas I can't deal with going to Manchester every week to the Giant or Camp Hill where they have changed the exits and takes longer to get the heck out of there and get home..........I'm not poor, but would be nice to go just a mile to shop for something needed in a hurry, if I want something else and not in a hurry, then I'll go somewhere else..........this will create jobs for people that have lost their jobs in the area, may not be as good a pay, but better than NOTHING.........guess you are independently wealthy........maybe some day you'll be looking for a job.......any job just to feed yourself/family/animals or whatever. Don't forget there will be other stores there too. Like a bigger and better Rite-Aid etc..........Newberry Commons is falling apart.........

YOU ALL SUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly there are double wides everywhere in newberrytown your just not looking or your too stupid to know what one looks like...refresh your memory its those homes that look like a rancher but aren't. Alot are on foundations and have basements so I guess your the one looking stupid. Last but not least, not everyonecan afford $300,000 homes. There are those of us that cant work due to a disability and only get social security so this is wht we can afford to put a roof over our heads. So F*ck you and move away you pompess a-hole!!

My ex husband who got the house in the divorce (Newberry Township) is probably shitting his pants right now. He hates people, Wal-Mart, and everything in between. He'll hate every minute of a Wal-Mart near his home. Ha! Good for him, the bastard!!

My father in law use to say in not as kindly words as these "Opinions are like rear end orifices. Everybody has one." For one thing my kids graduated from Redland High School and I graudated from Carlisle and I'd rather live in the Redland area which is Etters/Lewisberry. There are all types of illiterate people everywhere..in the city too. Give me the country. As far as Walmart, hmm I'll take it over Kmart where everytime I go to checkout the clerk is as slow as Molasses in January..what I call a real knuckle dragger.
As far as being clean, Kmart is pretty nasty!.
Target (French accent) is just the newest shiny of chain stores. Eventually, giving time Targetto won't take long to be trashed also. And yes it's not just my opinion...it's a fact. Just wait and see.
I know some are worrying about mom and pop stores...well Woolsworth and Kressges (think that's what Kmart was in the 60's) were the start of putting mom and pop stores out but were still kind of quaint compared to today. Also, the food store chains such as Giant, Weis...you don't think they had anything to do with putting mom and pop stores out...where do you get your groceries at?
Also as far as putting mom and pop hardware stores out, there's Lowe's, Home Depot and before that Hechinger's. Also a great deal of these stores sell stuff from China too. I've been to Bass Pro and Cabella's which put out mom and pop sport stores. It's not like I don't admire mom and pop stores. They are part of our history. It's just the chain stores have taken over years ago and people are still acting like Walmart is the first...besides illiteracy, people lack knowledge of our econmic and retail history. Complain wisely people. Ok then!

I am from Lewisberry. Groceries are no longer 5 min. up the road from where Wal-Mart is. To get anything besides groceries from the local "manorette" (prescriptions, clothing, toiletries, gifts etc.) I need to drive approx. 20 min. each way. The closest all-in-store (i.e. Target, Wal-Mart etc.) is at least 30 to 40 min. away from the middle of nowhere where I live. I will welcome Wal-Mart to make shopping more accessible and friendly on my car and the gas I put in it. Although, I will say that I would have preferred a Target for the quality of it's products, but the grocery selection at Wal-Mart will be much better.

Walmart will fit in with the townhouse people in Etters. They are people who work at Walmarts and buy Chinese products and have no benefits. What gets me is every other township puts up a fight against Walmart, BUT Newberrytown didnt even let us know about it untill it was being built. I hope it fails like Jamesway did.

To all you people who say newberry or etters is a dump, fuck you. I have lived here pretty much my whole life and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I've lived in Indianapolis, Richmond, and most recently Lemoyne. None of those places even compared to Etters. Most major cities are so crime ridden and just plain dangerous to live in. If anywhere around here is a dump its Harrisburg. I can sit on my porch and not hear a thing unlike Lemoyne of harrisburg where there is noise all day and night. I welcome Walmart. In the amount of time it takes to drive to the one on the carlise pike, I will be able to go the this one and be home. So to all you Etters haters out there Fuck You. If you dont live here dont bash on us, this area is better than most. Oh yeah in case I forgot to say it, Fuck You.

yeah it goes fifty/fifty well we needed something in the area instead to york or harrisburg.not saying walmart but kmart would of been nice to at least they have layaways.like to see dollar tree and dollar general to. target at superfresh or kohls ,but only time will tell we take the good with the bad .some plus an some minus.sure i will still support my local stores j&w of course they are the best.lotta staff and friendly to.i supported them for years even when i lived in dover there great. so look on the bright side of thing look when it is cold out inthe winter dont have to travel far in the yucky wheather or in a hurry and run out of something will be qiuck.

Okay I don't like Walmart either, but doesn't mean I hate the business. Who cares if you don't want to shop at Walmart anymore. If you have shopped at a Walmart before then think about that community that possibly got "destroyed", so its okay if someone else's community gets "destroyed", but when its your community...or should I say YOU get "destroyed" its wrong? Yeah Walmart "might not" care, but they "might". I don't live far at all from where the new Walmart is going to open and I plan on saving money on gas and driving less miles so my car doesn't wear as fast. Any ways you moved to or near Etters to escape whatever? Well move again, maybe find somewhere better. Heck if you have kids in college now and more space get a smaller house that you can live comfortably in. What you want and need are different. So who cares if you have a problem. No one or anything is perfect.

Purchased NY Strip Steaks at Walmart on Memorial Day, took them to friend's home for cookout ... They had a strange flavor and texture.
Later she told me they were slimy when she opened the wrapper but smelled ok. The date on package said ok through 6/3/11.
Will NOT purchase meat from Walmart again!

Your assumptions are wrong on a number of things, especially it failing like Jamesway did, don't worry yourself sweetheart, IT WON'T, NOT BY A LONGSHOT!
