2.2 million for a bridge that's 30ft long? Wow, that bridge should last 1,000 years. They must be making it out of gold. Good job.

Since you stole my name, I now feel the need to comment. Its no secret that bridges and roads are the #1 expense to the taxpayer. All the workers receive a prevailing (scale) wage while working on a state project. While they are leaning on that shovel they are making $30 an hour.
The cost per car traversing this bridge is much, much better than some other sites, like the Wierman's Mill Road Bridge project. If I remember right, based on the traffic flow, every car crossing that bridge would have to pay .70 cents over 81 years before we, the taxpayer, would even BREAK EVEN on the project. Bridges like that need to be closed, not repaired.

When they say three months it will turn in to about three years I am sure.

A Kinsley project, probably. They are probably counting the original cost to build it and the the cost it fix the mistakes.

Kinsley project 2 years,, Deckman probably 5 years,, If the bridge was built in 1952 it should'nt be going bad already!!I could build a new bridge over that creek for a hundred thou.,, & it would last more than 58 years! Somebody needs to get the right engineers & inspectors that can't be bought out!!Pa.Dot is a JOKE!!

Maybe you should read the article again!
I'll paste one paragraph that addresses your first sentence:
The $2,211,259 contract that will go in part to replace the bridge's superstructure -- which includes the deck, handrails and curbs -- was awarded to Deblin Inc. of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County. The contract also includes rehabilitation to two structures in York County: the Davidsburg Road bridge over Red Run in Washington Township, York County; and the Highland Avenue bridge over York Railway in West York Borough. The entire contract is expected to be completed by the end of April 2012.
That 2+ million covers 3 separate jobs!
