Weren't the children wearing life jackets? About how old were the children? Were they in their teens or were they very young?

If the man was able to save both of the kids why wasn't he okay? This is such a sad story. We hear too much about this type of thing. People need to be very careful in and around the water and need to make sure everyone is in a life vest.

Ok so the kids were on the tube I assume being pulled by the boat, and the fall so the driver dives in to get them? I think your supposed to drive the boat back to them. Was the water rough? High waves? This just sounds weird to me. I hope they find out more!!! and him!

the info is that that man was a nice guy who lived for his wife and kids- as you can see he gave his life for them, so for all the people with the rude comments and questions---how do you feel now.this was someones husband, father, friend, a very dear friend of ours.a man who loved his wife and kids, for whom he would do anything, as it is now apparent to you all-he loved them enough to save their life and lose his!!!

My Prayers, and deepest Sympathy to the family, and friends. I know this is a very difficult time for you all. Ignore the negative comments when they appear, and know that there are caring people Praying for you all. This is very sad.

Nobody was being rude. We just wanted to know more about what happened. I think you need to not be on here telling us that we need to stop the rude comments when we are just commenting on what the new report has told us. Im sorry about your loss but as someone that is close(you, not me) to him I think that either you need to have thick skin to be in this thread or just dont even look at it. The last thing anyone that was close to him needs is to be here reading comments that will make you mad cuz there will people that will be very negitive about the whole thing. Once again Im sorry about your loss, he sounds like a very good man.

first of all, this is a tragic situation, prayers to the family and there loss.
next, to all of you who get on this site just to bicker is rediculous. I am a boater, if this was my children, and they fell off the tube, he probably sensed danger. I would have done the same thing. Yes it is easy for you to say that the driver should turn around and get them. You were not there, so do not pass judgement. It is not about thick skin. you are talking about someones father and husband. It is not about looking at negative things written on this site. Comments on these stories should stay positive. if you do not have anything better that to find negativity in someone elses loss. Then get you behind off the computer and do something nice for someone. Prayers for friends and family, that is what these comments should be all about!!!

does it really matter that he was not wearing a life jacket .he made a split second decision to help his children ,and lost his life in doing so.so look at the heroics not the mistakes.and think about those left behind to pick up the pieces .

I was saying that to get on here and read the comments you have to have thick skin because there will be people that will say bad things and I dont think that family or friends of his man, who I see as a hero because he saw something bad happening and despite the fact that he couldnt swim he saved his kids no matter what happened to him, should read them. Thats all I was saying. People are mean and do make fun of others loss but I am not one of those people. I just wanted to warn family and friends that it can and will happen with some of the people that post on these forums.

oh and not to mention the way the story gets covered by tv 8. That also gives people a chance to point out all the bad things about this tragic event.

I agree with one of the other posters - why don't you chill out until they release more information? Get a grip already. Who appointed you as investigator of this incident? Sorry that the rescuers and law enforcement personnel were too busy doing their jobs to take a break to answer all your questions. Maybe you should hold a news conference of your own to demand answers to this tragedy. After all, most reasonable people should be able to have all the answers to these tragedies within five minutes of the incident taking place and without any kind of official investigation.

inquiring about life jackets and how things happen isn't being rude-it's information people can learn lessons from
