I am not upset with jp any more
The reason I am not upset I will relay in a example

The camargo principle decision was a bad one but it's not jp fault

Our board signed a employment contract with jp giving him 24hr attorney represention personal and business. Gave him the power the money and any tool necessary to persue a personal agenda like no other

The board signed his contract and I can not blame a man for bettering himself

He has a vechical going to Frankfort
His final destination free of charge

Moving the camargo principal was a decision part of his aggressive personal agenda. She the kids and staff were collateral damage there was motive but not personal

Now I am upset with the board for giving one man to much power

Now I am not mad at the board I am mad at you and myself. I voted

Employing friends and living out his dreams. He plans meetings at 4:30 when kids leave at 3:00 just to keep teachers away from there family. Requires paper work that takes. Saterday and sunday to complete.
Belittles employees in front of others
So he can mask his little man syndrome. It's not going to be easy to graduate the boot camp. If the requirements improved the quality of education it would be acceptal however they are to persue his personal agenda and forfill what he is lacking inside himself

You ask why he does these things
Because he can. Read contract

He plans on high turn over. We as a school system will lose hard working educators other systems will employ

The board gave Josh the Vechicle to persue his personal agenda through his employment contract. I am not upset with Josh he is a master negotiator with a psygchology degree. Thats right not a education degree but a degree that helps get into someone elses head
Josh you are the man. The trump of education. You out smarted those four hillbillies in the interview that's for sure

If I could go back and change my vote I would

If the board could go back would they hire him. I don't know we should ask them.

Would Josh take the job if he could go back. Now that was stupid.

Right about the time Mr. Powell was taking charge, the state told me face to face, this district was one of the biggest messes in the state, if not the biggest... That statement came as no surprize!

They also told me that, they had worked with Mr. Powell extensivly over the years, and HE was about CHILDREN, he WOULD listen to problems, and he WOULD get things on track!

YOU GO JOSH!

I have to ask you, "wont gamble that", if you are a product of the Montgomery County School system? If so, your spelling and grammar just may reflect why an overhaul is needed.

I agree with you about the grammar
No I am not employed by the school system. I am not qualified to educate our youth. How ever I have kids as do other family members with children in and preparing to enrool in the schoo system. And in a small town my family personally know the educators past and present and I want more and better opportunities for my and your kids than I had offered to me

Also after settleing down I would like to comment that

I wish Josh true passion was our kids and the quality work enviorment of our educators not his personal agenda.
Our teachers deserve a quality family life of there own. And a work place environment that is not driven by fear
Or used as a pawn for a personal agenda. Its all about the quality of education and opportunities we as adults are obligated to offer our children. I want my Childs teacher teaching because he or she has a passion for it. Taking pride and ownership in the profession of education. Not I am going to be moved or fired or belittled because he can. We all know he has the power just wish he did not feel like he had to prove it.

Jp we know you are the man we give
Please help us help our kids and care about us and our families. We want a quality life to

As an employee of the school system, I have never been happier than I am this year. I am stress free. I know I am doing my job so I have nothing to worry about. As an insider, I see why some of the changes have been made, why some have been transferred to new positions, and that Mr. Powell is all about the kids. #1 is you do not degrade, talk down to or yell at any student. Not tolerated. Students are to be treated with kindness and care. I love it.

I have a real hard time believing your not stressed. Everyone is!! We're just all holding on tight to see what happens next. It doesn't matter if you're doing your job. He's still gonna move people and get rid of teachers as he sees fit. We are all collateral damage to him. Don't get to relaxed honey. You could be next.

I am right there with you. I do my job with passion and proud to be a part of the Montgomery co school system. I have bought into the idea of providing all our children a quality education.

It's hard to remain invested into a idea when I know I may be sold any day. I am not blinded that I can't be sold I can.

Now I am stressed, proud but have no faith, scared and can't sleep. Over worked creating family problems I have never had before. My health is falling off I am not young anymore. The days are long and the nights are short. I cant believe this is happening to me (us). I cry way to much and depression has overcome me.

When we all pull together to solve issues and there is a team behind you
Supporting work and personal quality of life that is all we can ask for.

Josh goal is for me and my family is pure and total destruction.

I am so sick today and depressed i am going to see professional help or I can't make it anymore. I have resorted to Topix to vent. If I said this out loud I would be fired.

I want to thank Mr Henderson for all the help he gave Josh Powell in becoming the new Montgomery co super. For all the years my family were with you supporting you, we can not support you any longer Mr Henderson
Your political power used against Mr Rison has effected my family to the point we are considering moving from a county my husband children and I love. I hope you see this Mr Henderson
So you can see The results for me and 95 percent of the educational team In
Montgomery co.

The new McNabb principal, who supposedly is a good principal, will be making $100,000 per year. He was lured away from his previous district by money, where he was paid $60,000.

There is a new secretary position with a $53,000 salary, with only a two year associates degree required. This is when the pay scale calls for some teachers with Masters degrees to make less than $40,000 (depending on years of experience).

There is talk within the district of raising property taxes another 4% next year, on top of the increase this past year.

The athletic director, who the superintendent brought with him from Union Co., makes $85,000. He is set to retire in two years, and seemingly moved here so he could get a bigger pension.

For all the talk of Union Co. having this huge turnaround, their scores from last year's testing (released a couple months ago) tanked. The drastic changes made there, which are similar to what is happening in MC, were not lasting. In fact, the average ACT score last year in MC was higher than in Union Co.

Good job school board.

It is because he cheats. That is the only reason. The School Board is to blame. Gulley and Osbourne and Reed

I have a friend in union co that told me a story about how he made sure the grades were high. His method was cheating and he needed assistance from a secretary. Not sure if she knew it was wrong or not but she was fired and took the rap for him. He use you the drop you. So if you think you are in good you had better step back.

So this is not true at all. There was no secretary fired under Powell's term at UC. People that don't like Powell are the one's that don't work. If you work hard and put the kids first, he is great to work for. Our scores did not tank this last time, we moved up again. Not as much as before but that is because we had climbed so much it had to slow down. He fired a bunch of teacher's when he came and everyone was upset. The fact was these teachers had become bored with their job and didn't put in the effort. The new staff is great and you should be happy you have JP on board. I would love for him to come back to UC. Don't make the mistake we did and run him off because of the "Good ol boy" mantality. Powell Rules!

Seems to me a lot has been done to improve the childrens education. Sports are good but all children deserve to be given a chance to get an education outside of Sports. The new super is doing a wonderful job, my grandchildren are enjoying this year and that amazes me! Grades are all A's and B's. Thank you for whatever changes have made this difference in their schooling.

Josh Powell was left with a mess. The district aka past administrator had many skeletons in the closet. Freeman knew it was time to go, the school was going doing the tube and he knew he had sugar coated too long. Mr. Powel was left with more to deal with that many people know. The dirty work from the good ole boys has been brought to the surface. Just give Mr Powel a chance, just wait until we get a 1 yr reveiw, I feel that there will be adifference, maybe not the best, but time will make up proud of our school and the progress. Just knowing we not in the bottom will boast the ego of our system's academic stature. Sports are there already because of the interst in sports for a long period of time and lack of interest in academics.
