I am just so happy to know that the Hillsville Police have so little to do as far as crime in the area that they can take the time to set up sting operation to try and catch a 77 year old man driving to the drug store. I don't know about everyone else but I can sure sleep good at night knowing that crime in the Hillsville area is limited to driving offenses

Hillsville police do well at their job .I know that for a fact because I have lived there and needed their help once . You would not feel the same if this unlawful old man harmed one of your loved ones with his vehicle , or ran over you while you were trying to cross the street. I hope they take his driving priviledges away in order to keep the area safer. |

I agree that this man should not be on the road. The police department might do certain aspects of their jobs well. But I have family who live there who have needed their help before also. My relative's house was burglarized and a lot of items were taken. The police officer who showed up 30 minutes after the 911 call was made had to be told (by my relative) to take pictures of the damaged door/footprints in the mud, etc. When my family member tried to call the officer to follow up on any information, the officer did not ever return his call. I apologize if I offended you. And maybe I should not hold the whole department responsible for one officer's incompetence. |

Yeah , I guess it's just as hard to stereo-type police officers as it is to stereo-type any other group of humans of any certain occupation , race , sex , religion , gender ,ect ., because deep down we know that there are good police officers , and then there are those who could care less . Sounds like your relative got one that didn't give a flying flock .That's sad .Perhaps since the law didn't catch them , Karma will !:) When I needed them they arrived promptly and were very professional about getting my child to calm down by assuring our safety , and now one of the three intruders is in jail facing years in prison . |

Two elderly men were out driving in a large car-both could barely see over the dashboard. They came to an intersection. The stoplight was red but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself "I must be losing it, I could have sworn we just went through a red light."
After a few more minutes they came to another intersection and the light was red again and again they went right though. At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was definitely red and they went right through and she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred! Did you know we just ran through three red lights in a row! You could have killed us!" Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh, am I driving?" |
