Hey, this is Valencia County, the original Hazzard County, USA, and we don't only have one 'Boss Hogg', we have seven of them. If you want something done and done right, you have to play the game and pay for the services on top of all the taxes we pay out over here. Why do you think there are stories of crime, corruption, drugs, trash, and dead animals making the news all the time?

Why dont some of you guys get ahold of the mayor? He is the one that owns that land and he is the one that started the whole sub-Divison. That is why is is called Hunning Ranch because they named it after him!!!!!!!
The mayor's name is Robert Vialpando. He's not a 'Hunning'(sic) or even a Huning. You clearly don't have a clue.

Doesn't matter what the Mayor's name is. It is still Valencia County and Neal is absolutly right about the "good ole boys". Honesty has no place in this county. Just counting the days till I can get out of here. Lucky for me I bought a Modular instead of a Huning Ranch house. At least I'll be able to sell mine.

You people who are having problems with your homes need to file your complaints with Building Industries, Santa Fe. Next time your in the market for a new home call them & find out what complaints have been filed against the builder of the new home you are considering purchasing...a real eye opener.
Then you need to all get together, hire an attorney, & file a lawsuit against Centex. Find a Real Estate Attorney who was around 25/30 years ago when some homes in the older Tanoan had the same problem with houses built on filled in arroyos. The ground shifted & caused the same problem you are having. I don't remember if Centex was involved in that mess or not. The end result was the builders were required to buy back the houses & they were torn down. A suggestion: Call the Board of Realtors in Albuquerque & find out who their lawyer is. I can't remember his name but he's meaner than a junk yard dog, which is what you need. I think his last name is Siegel (sp).
The bloggers who are saying the homes with problems were built on unstable soil not compacted properly are 100% correct. Some soil is so unstable even compacting doesn't work. You will need a structural engineer to evaluate the damage & your attorney can suggest one.
Don't let Centex get away with this. They are one of the largest single family home builders in the US & can well afford to give you your money back but they won't unless you back them into a corner.
You're the only one who had some constructive useful information about this avalanching problem in Huning Ranch, Los Lunas NM. It's not just one builder. it's definitely the land that probably should not have been built upon. I am watching house after house shift, crack, and crumble around me and now I see damage in and around my house after 3 years of living here. I own the house outright and now feel I will lose my life's savings. I'm too old to start again but I will if I must. I have now joined 18+ others in a law suit. Bandaid fixes by the owners or builders won't fix this problem. I indeed hope that we can get our money back and start again.

Sanford Siegel is considered good. Who do you have as your lawyer?

I feel very bad for you. I think a class action is the the way to go, though.

Yes we have started a lawsuit. There are about 18 of us and if you would like to join please post your email and I can email you. This is not our fault. We do not deserve this. Like some have stated they bought their home out-right and some like myself spent 5 yrs saving just to put a down payment on the house. We have issues with DR Horton, Are there other builder in the huning ranch area? I am sure!

Actually, this lawsuit is not a class action. This is a step better I think and is being handled by a group of Albuquerque lawyers. Each case will be handled separately because the damages are unique to each home. It will probably take years. I am going to try to get a copy of the original geological survey or ask if the lawyers have one. To my knowledge there was no disclosure from the builders saying we were on a fault or underground water source. We were blind sided and should not be held responsible. Since late 2008 there has been no further CID minutes posted on the web that I can find but the issue was discussed with no decision as to who is to be held responsible since that time. There only comment was it should be studied further. Is someone already hiding evidence?

I think we are in the same group. Are you still living there or did you move to WA as your name suggests? Do you happen to know if anyone has discussed how to get our property taxes either lowered or stopped? It seems wrong to be paying the taxes if the value of our homes is questionable. I haven't seen anyone able to sell even though signs are up everywhere.

Yes I do still live there. I am sorry i show Up as WA I was at work and that is where our server is out of. I have not thought about the taxes. My guess is we probably do anything about it. I will ask the attorney. Are you on the email list, that had all the emails going back and forth on it today? If so send the email out and I will reply so we can continue our conversation.

I gave my email address to the lawyer last week but I haven't received any group emails yet. Maybe I'll call the lawyer today before work. Thanks for replying. I'd definitely like to be in the loop to keep up on things.

For those of you filing suit...are ypou all Centex homeowners or a combition of Centex and DR Horton homeowners? And are filing suit against your respective builders or The city of Los Lunas and/or Valencia county?

So far I think it is all DR Horton, and so far going after the builder. I am sure if you are interested our attorneys will be happy to look at your case as well

I meant Sylvan Sigel. But regardless, I'm glad the group has lawyers, and even if not a class action, I suppose the cost of suing is less as group? That is what irresponsible builders do, hope you won't have the means to sue them. It must feel better, too to be part of a group and lend comfort to one another. I think things will proceed better for you now. How many are there of you?

Oh, I just reviewed, 18 of you. Wow. And probably more lining up. This should get interesting. But you are right, it is not your fault, and the builders must make it right.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Virgo

Be careful you don't wind up doing someone else's work today, Virgo. There are all sorts of little tricks to persuade you to take pity on them, from pretending to be ill to making such a hash of everything that you can't bear to watch for a moment longer. Then you are likely to be asked to put in some overtime, at the expense of your social life. Grr.
