Russell Stenger dies; one of county's most notorious killers

I am Dail Schroeder's sister and I was so glad to hear that Russell Francis Stenger is finally dead. It doesn't bring Dail back but now my family can know that he is burning in hell for all eternity where he belongs.
Dail's boys had to grow up without there mommy. They graduated high school and the youngest got married last November. She missed it all thanks to that son-of-a-bitch. What he did to her and her family is unforgivable and unforgetable.

Hi Darla,
I lived next to Dail. My sister babyset your nephews while Dail worked out and ran errans. We were always at her house. All of us neighbor kids were. She was an amazing woman. I will never forget her or the last time I saw her alive. She was on the porch out back and was singing a song. I'm not sure what the title was but it goes: Nan nana nana Hey, Hey, goodbye.. She asked me if I knew were one of the neighborhood boys were because his mom was looking for him. I told her no and ran home. The next day my parents told us that she was missing. My sister and I were devastated. Then my mom picked us up from school the day they found her body and she broke the news too us. I locked myself in my closet for a week. When my mom told me, I didn't believe her. I ran out our door and up to Dail's house. I looked through the window and saw her husband crying with all the family. Right then I knew that it was true. My parents didn't let us go to her funeral due to the fact that we were devestated. I was to scared to go out and play or to walk to a friends house. I had night terrors after that. I came face to face with Dail's killer 3 months before she went missing. He went to my church and sat behind me. My parents got a creepy feeling when he sat there. Then he followed me home one day when I was leaving a friends house. Only by the grace of God did I get away. I was too scared to give the police a description of him. I knew even being as young as I was, that he was pure evil. I have lived with this everyday since then. It had me paralized with fear at night in my bed. I was able to surpress it until I became pregnant with my first child and then the nightmares started again. I called my parents and told them a description of this man to a tee and then they knew who it was. I told them that it was the man who sat behind me in the Glad Tithings Church.. At the moment they knew that it was the same man that killed Dail. I cried and felt guilty that if only I had given them the description, Dail would still be with us. Dail has always been apart of my sisters and my life. We have never forgot her. She was such a wonderful person. We were truely blessed to have her in our lives. I went to her grave about 5mon ago and learned that the devil is now burning in hell. That gives me satisfaction. I know that he has met his maker and he will never hurt another person. He is now paying for what he did to her and to Kimberly. Dail loved her boys. They last time I saw them, the baby was just walking. Their mother turely loved them. She loved her friends and family. We miss her greatly. Tenille

Thank you so much for the response. I've been avoiding this for a while, but had to look today. I never knew any of the stuff you wrote. I am so glad she has not been forgotten. October will be 22 years since her murder. She was only 23 when she died. We miss her so much. My youngest daughter and my niece never got a chance to meet her. We were all cheated!!! I hope Stenger is burning every second of every day!!!!!
