On three separate occasions I have been stopped and asked for my receipt. The first time the lady stated she needed to make sure I paid for the case of water I had.

The second time I had just purchased a weedeater and asked the cashier to put some type of marking on the box so that I wouldn't get stopped when I left. No such thing exists, and I got stopped.

Two weeks later I purchased a second weedeater and was not asked for a receipt when I left. What was the difference? When I get stopped it is always done by the little old ladies with the white/blue hair. The younger people and the old men never give me a second glance.

It would seem to me, at least from my skewed perspective, that I am being profiled by the little old ladies.

I have long hair, which I keep neat. I have a long beard, which I also keep neat. I wear blue jeans and black shirts. I am of the opinion that these ladies look at me and I don't fit into their neat tidy views, that I must be stealing so they stop me. Maybe there is a real legitimate reason for stopping me, but I haven't heard one yet.

We check receipts to make sure the cashier didn't miss something, Hah! You are only checking one or two items to make sure I paid for them, so in essence, I am being accused of being a thief. Why all the cameras? If the store thinks I am a thief, then watch me on the cameras, and have a bonified security guard or a policeman stop me, not a little old lady with prejudices that will never be dispelled.
