I appreciate your response. I know this must all be hard for the family and a dreadfull nightmare for the children. I know for one, knowing the Drown's family, am horrified and admit I do believe the allegations. Howvwer, I feel helpless and these posting are sometimes the only way to express feelings. I hope the family is in contact with the children and giving them support. I wish I knew where they are, but that information is not available. I hope they know how many lives they have touched.

This whole issue is very emotional for the people that knew the Drown's and even some who didn't.

Anya was so brave to do this, I know it was hard even after all these years of being away from the "parents". It is very hard to recover from being the victim of a cult. I am glad to see she grew up to be such a brave, strong woman. I hope someone can send her this post and a virtual hug!

Many of R&G's family members still belong to WWCG, some are even elders, deacons and at least one is a pastor. Will these people be allowed to foster or adopt the Drown children and subject them to more of their "religion"? The WWCG changed it's "doctrine" in 1993, mostly so they could keep their non profit status. It now looks like any other right wing christian religion on paper,. Does that mean all of the membership immediately and forever accepted the new doctrine? I doubt it.

WWCG provided everything Graydon needed to live his religious delusions. He might have been saved if his mental illness was recognized or WWCG allowed medical care. Robyn became his help mate, enabling him to live his fantasy. A 25 year long case of co dependency? Robyn is not submissive, so there was something it this relationship for her. Perhaps Graydon was the dependent one and Robyn is the one who craves all the control? Just a passing thought, but I hope Robyn is having an in depth INDEPENDENT mental health evaluation.

I know the Statesman article confirms that R&G are not Jewish. Please remember that these children where told by their parents they are Jewish, their faith the center of their lives, so I hope that everyone involved keeps this in mind. No matter the actual "faith" of the Drown Parents, these children are Jewish and should be allowed to remain in the faith they know. Someday they may decide on different religious paths and need to be in homes that will not just "allow" it but help then find their way.

Someone hurry and "judge" me before the Lewis family returns and calls me bad names!:) They stopped posting as soon as WWCG was mentioned. If I had a child beating, mind controlling cult in my history (or present) and I wanted custody of any of these kids I would have shut up too!!!

Seriously, everything I wrote about WWCG and your family is from a verifiable source, so if your "church" records are clueless, wrong, mean and off-topic so be it. Have any of you considered just why I know so much about WWCG?

I read Anya's letter. Do you think she is she also clueless and wrong just because she does not happen to agree with YOU? Was she brainwashed after she was "kidnapped" by the Drown grandparents? Graydon is insane, he is to be pitied. Robyn chose to abandon her children and go off with Graydon. She did all the lying about their past for both of them. She helped bolster and sustain his delusions and continued to give birth to punching bags/house slaves another 17 years. She is an evil sick puppy. The time for parenting classes and co dependency counseling is long past.

Your family did nothing to stop either of them. She was caught because someone here in Salem reported her and Graydon. Please do not act like you NEVER knew where they where. Many family members have visited R&G in the past 6-10 months. The older kids visited them in Alaska, even after they where taken away from R&G. I heard Robyn talking on the phone with her sister(s) more than once. I can't see any reason for me to be lying about this. For you however, the truth about how WWCG taught you to raise your own children and knowing that R&G used these same barbaric methods might make you want to omit a thing or two in your posts.

Do I need to post "The Plain Truth About Child Raising"? The sin you perpetrated on your children in the name of God is all there in black and white. Robyn leaned to "discipline" (read: punish) directly from WWCG teachings, not from Graydon.

You did have some contact, but you all just ignored history and kept your eyes and ears closed. Now you all think Robyn should get out of jail and have parenting classes? Laughable. She is poison to her children and from what I have seen of your personality you are nasty, spiteful, small minded and inflexible. Even if I did not already know you belong to the WWCG cult and raised you kids in a cult that advocated even encouraged spanking infants, I would not trust most of you with more kids. Misdirected rage, spite and small mindedness you've show are hardly traits of a healthy mind capable of properly raising children.

The WWCG is not "off topic" in might even be the center of the abuse the children suffered. Is Robyn's mother one of the Lewis family posters? I want to ask you if Robyn learned how to nurture and protect her children from you? Did you protect and love her as a baby or did you slap her butt when she was an infant to teach her not to cry when she needed something and so she would obey and respect you?

I am not sure we will see Robyn's family post here again. I think they have been scared away. I do not blame the depths of emotion expressed here by those who have seen Robyn & Graydon up close and frequently. I think everyone needs an outlet. In a way, they have abused the entire Turnner/Marion county community. They abused their trust, their faith in people, and have embarrassed them (I would think.) But it has been forgotten that the Lewis have been abused in this as well. They have been manipulated (it sounds like,) lied to, and have been led to believe that their daughter is still what any of us would want to believe of our child: that they are incapable of great evil AND looking like a victim at the same time.

Have they shown that they are unwilling to look at this objectively? Yes. Would any of us be able to do that in their position?

Have they lashed out at those who would have them look at their daughter as anything other than what they have believed for how many years? Yes. If they can't be mad at Robyn, they have to be mad at someone.

Are we going to change their minds by antagonizing them? No. Some have presented facts, as they know them. Others have attempted rhetoric. I believe there is a chance that they will never consider Robyn responsible, even if a jury convicts her.

I wonder what they thought of the oldest daughter's letter asking the judge to keep her away from her kids?

To the people judging inaccurately: stop it. By doing this you are drawing attention and sympathy to those you would rather not have listened to. You give them creditability they might not otherwise have.

I read the article in the Statesman Journal. I knew the Drown's too long and too well. I know the signs of a battered woman. She was NOT a battered woman. She is using the system to try and get her off for what she took part in with the abuse of the children. Was this her idea or the lawyer's? It makes me sick that she is trying this, rather than take responsibility for her own actions. I do not beleive for one minute that she is a victim. She ran the household and her husband, too. One more lie to catch her in, since knowing her. OMG!

Well, Robyn said exactly what I though she would. It is pretty easy to predict that she would lie to save her own butt. It was not the most creative choice but I guess it is good to go with the same lie you have already used on your family. To bad it did not work as well on the judge.

Now we just have to hope that her family does not have $120,000.00 for a bail bond. Her children are much safer with her staying in jail.

Who ever did this, I assume you don't own one personally, but does anyone in your house have a dictionary?

A dictionary a special book that has MANY words in it. The words are in alphabetical order and after each word there is a "definition". Definition is the meaning of the first word, the one in bold print. People use the dictionary so that they can be sure to use a word correctly and not appear to be ignorant.
