We have been there twice in the last two days for breakfast! It is fantastic! The coffee is amazing, & I'm not even a coffee drinker. It's cheaper to eat there than at a fast food place. We'll be going back!

I was hoping to get drunk and run you over. Since Iam not a drunk I guess that will not be happeining.
But that is a good reason to get drunk and hope I do run over you.

He's pretty harmless, Francis, but I suspect he has to learn manners the hard way. If you like, I'll hold him and you come over and kick him in the shins. Then we can all go to Arboleda’s or Hot Rodz for lunch, satisfied...or some of us will.

Rcbob, if you were to speak respectfully to your betters (I know it's difficult), instead of all the needlessly fierce rhetoric you dish out, then perhaps others would return the respect. Just a thought. You are not alone in this respect. There are several regulars who cannot get past the overuse of pejorative and epithets.

By the way, regarding the school entrance traffic...it's not really the parents' fault. When you get to the driveway, and if it’s full, there is simply nowhere else to go...you have to wait until the cars at the front pick up the kids and get out of the way. School ends at a certain time and that's, you know, when parents have to pick them up. The rest of us have exactly the same problem, but we manage to endure the tragic event without loud whining.

You, on the other hand, could go around by way of the I-30 service roads, right? You could spend the extra time meditating on what is GOOD about your neighbors. At a minimum, you could start with the fact that they aren't ALL parked on the highway. No. Some of them are still working, or busy "wasting your tax dollars down at city hall" (as you will likely find another opportunity to mention). And of course there are the liquor clerks who aren't out there waiting to pick up school children. They are at the store, anticipating with bated breath, your eminent arrival.

Luckily, the parameds and volunteer firefighters are off somewhere else, too - picking up the people you won't have to run over, since somebody already did it for you. After leaving the liquor store, no doubt. See all the blessings you have? Aren't you glad somebody on here is willing to give you such friendly advice? I know I am.

If rcbob, and a few other, equally disagreeable posters, didn't write all this nonsense, there would be little reason to read topix posts at all. The rest of us, who are not as critical of everyone in sight, risk too much agreement among ourselves. We are boring. Boring doesn't sell newspapers or tv. Boring won't fill a blog or generate heated debate. That's why I'm nominating rcbob as the 2010 TOPIX FORUM POSTER CHILD. The photographer is being selected, insured, issued with a bullet-proof vest and gas mask, and arming himself with a large caliber weapon. Poster Child, call to make your appointment, please.

No Easterner, I'm not. Far from it. I come from the big city. Natalia, Texas - home of...um...well, not much. Okay, I'm exaggerating (so as to seem more impressive in your eyes). I come from about three miles OUTSIDE of Natalia, home of a cornfield, three rabbits and some cows. I learned pejoratives while addressing the afore mentioned cattle, and epithets naturally followed. Darn cows. You would think they woulda had more sense than a stump, but they wasn't gonna listen to that skinny barefoot kid, hollerin' and flinging clods at 'em. Least ways, they didn't give the impression that they was inclined to head in the direction the kid wanted 'em to, even though they'd been down that same cow path every previous dang day of their sorry lives.

Oh my I have been put in my place.
Thanks for spelling everything out for me. I was clueless until I read your post full of your wit and wisdom. But please in the future kinda keep em short I have a short attention span so I kinda drift.
I will respectfully have to decline being the poster child for Topix. But I really do appreciate the nomination.
Thanks for setting me straight!!!

Any time, rcbob. Glad I could be of service.

Please reconsider the poster child thing - we really need you. The other nominee had something else to do.

People...ANYWAYS does NOT have an S at the end, and ESPECIALLY does NOT have an X in it!!!!!!!!!

Thanks DPD your posts are the only things that keep me sane in RC. I love you man...Dude or Dudette. It is so nice to speak with someone who has a brain.

Question back on topic, you all talk about Arboledas and P&L, but you never mention the old Macarenas anymore...what's with that?

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
