I love it too. I took a friends dog to Red Dog a few days after it had been in a car accident with its owner. They had been on its way to the groomer when the accident happened. The dog was unhurt but really shaken. Accomplishing this task for my friend seemed like a small thing to do as she fought for her life in the ICU down in Parkland and when they found out - they gave me a discount, which helped. What nice folk and they were and so very kind to the dog!

go there!

I took my beloved papillon to the Red Dog Spa of McKinney - I asked for him to be trimmed up, nailes, belly etc. I specifically asked that the ears and tail be left alone. When I picked him up he was shaven! His ears were cut and he has half the tail he use to have. I brought this to Joel, the 1/2 ower's attention. Not only did he defend the cut, he actually yelled at me over the phone and told me to go to Pet's Mart. Whatever you do - do NOT take you beloved dog to Red Dog Spa of McKinney Texas. They do not follow instructions. They do not care if you are happy with their work. If you are unhappy, they/the owner blames you and they prefer you to go to Pet's Mart.

I made the mistake of taking my two dogs to this spa more than once. I was told after the first mess that they were very sorry and the problem was because they were busy and they would do better. I must say I will never trust my dogs at the Red Dog Paw Spa again. They are rude and unable to tell the truth.

I LOVE the Red Dog Paw Spa!!!! Donna is such an awesome groomer and she does such a good job on our fussy Pom, Duchess. Duchess was abused before we ever got her and Donna does such a good job working with her and making her look beautiful!!! Thanks to the owners for hiring Donna!! She's great!!!

Donna is the BEST groomer ever..She takes her time with my 2 babies and does what YOU want. If something does not look good she will give you her advice and what would look fabulous on my dogs. Donna is very patient, kind and loving to Jasmine and Gizmo. I also had a Pom with special needs and Donna was awesome with him. She worked with him and what he can handle while giving him a break. Donna was gentle with my Pom. He is no longer with us but Donna has shown us what we want in a groomer. We LOVE Donna and will only go to her..

Our poor little poodle has had to move so many times and always has a difficult time getting used to a new place - We LOVE that we are back in McKinney because Red Dog Paw Spa is exceptional! Our little girl is nervous and timid and never liked being groomed - but Amanda and Joel are SO EXCEPTIONAL and patient with her. For the first time ever she loves going to the groomer - and I mean LOVES!

Do NOT make the mistake of taking your beloved dog here!!! I bet the owners wrote these reviews themselves. I took my 2 shihtzus there and gave the groomer (the owner) specific instructions on how I wanted my dogs groomed. I told her that I had been to other places and told them what I wanted and they did what they wanted and it upset me very much. When I came to pick up my dogs I didn't even recognize one of them. They look like fairys. They look ridiculous. I almost cried. The owner then proceeded to state that he "knew I was going to be a problem the minitue I walked in the door". I stated I was so unhappy with the way my babies looked that I didn't want to pay. He then took one of my dogs and threw him into the cage and said he was going to call the police! Do not go here. It may be a few bucks cheaper but it's not worth it. Even petsmart does a better Job than them. Do not let the name "spa" fool you. This is no spa. It's a back alley groomer with a rude and unbusinesslike owner. It's a joke.

The Red Dog Spa is now under new owners and at first I was concerned about how it was going to be ran. I recently brought my two precious boys in for a groom wondering how they were going to turn out, I was satisfied and happy with the results. The owner and two groomers on staff are very sweet and polite and over all honest and that's a important key in my eyes to keep my self coming back. I have seen recent reviews on other web/blog sites about the change I understand that change is hard to some people and I would like to stress that the owner and groomers are very pasionate about customer staisfaction please don't have negitive reviews from other people distate your opinion about this shop. from my review I would like for people to go in there with their precious ones and have the same open mind as I did. I highly recomend this salon based off their professional out look and compassion towards making sure you are satisfied when you walk in the door and right before you walk back out the door.

I used to work at Red Dog and I say this not as a disgruntled ex-employee but as a dog lover and a current groomer. Please do not take your dogs there. It is not as though the grooms do not turn out well, although I have seen a little of that, but the facility is very unclean. The cleaning schedule itself was nonexistent and they do not even require proof of vaccinations. It is extremely important to keep your dog away from that place, they could become very ill.

Dear Oh Goodness,

I am honestly impressed at the boldness in your opinion. It's certainly a quality not many attain; and I find appreciation in that. Secondly, if I could touch on a few points in your post. It would be the procedure in which we conduct safe business practices. Some of which are requiring vaccinations, also maintaining and successfully implementing a rigorous cleaning schedule. Specifically for the health of our loving Pets. It's unfortunate that you've experienced the lack thereof, if I could take your burden of proof I certainly would. I don't take delight in sowing seeds of discord. So, I wish you well and sincerely apologize on behalf of your former employer.

My warmest regards,

-Michael Alfarue

I love taking my Macee (a maltese) for her grooming to Red Dog Paw Spa. She always looks so cute and really doesn't even mind when I leave her there for her grooming. I know they show her love. They also do a fantastic job. I would recommend Red Dog Paw Spa to anyone and I have done so.
