Does anyone find it unusual that the media (other than the hometown McKinney paper ) has failed to do an investigative report on this pattern of egregious customer abuse, arrest for federal mail fraud, becoming one of the very few businesses being designated as the lowest rank of "F" for indifference to responding to complaints to the BBB for business practices?

Why also would a blue blood such as American Honda Motor Company allow a dealer with these compelling, egregious and profound transgressions to continue to hold a Honda franchise?

What a bitch. I will keep my business at Eagle Honda

Sales and Service are two completely different departments in a dealership. The $.95 is for the folders your documents are held in, the stickers that label them, the paper that the documents printed on, and it pays for the file clerk to keep them in order for you. Therefore, if you do ever need your files for any reason, you can easily access them. That goes a long way for just 95 cents.
As for the disposal fee, it is a state law that was passed by Ann Richards. We are required to charge a disposal fee of about $3.00, due to the fact that we are not allowed to just throw the battery away. It does not matter what dealership you go to in the state of Texas. Every dealership is required to charge you the same fee if you dispose of a battery.

I tried to buy 2 honda accords at McKinney Honda but they were much higher than their competitors. They were so far off it was laughable. If a car stickers at 31,800 and you pay more that 29,000 you are being ripped off. However they have serviced my cars and I feel that they were honest and up front with the cost.

I work at Honda Cars of McKinney as a salesman, and I live in McKinney. I have been here for three months and enjoy what I do. I realize salesman are looked down upon, which I have to admit I used to be one of the people who looked down on them, however I learned it's like any other career I have had in the past in terms of trying to support my family. The goal in my life is to support my family because they are the most important thing to me. In order for me to do this, I am asking anyone out there for assistance. All I am asking is if anyone is looking for a car or knows anyone looking for a car please refer them to me, or if you ever have questions about how anything works or anything at all please call me. You will find my number on my blog @

Again, thanks for all your help!!

Mr. Orseno-

If you will consider a clarification, people in general do not look down at salesmen.

What they look down on is the actions/choices of the few who will make poor choices for a quick sale as opposed to getting the right fit of a product/service at a fair price for a customer, who then will tend to become a customer for life.

If the management of the organization puts pressure on the sales force for an inordinate number of sales for the natural flow of business for that enterprise, ill will is likely to result.

Good luck to you in your career in sales. If you find, Mr. Orseno, that you cannot comply with the demands for sales in a finite period of time with this or any other company in the future, you might want to ask yourself if you have the right fit of an organization.

Customers rely upon ethical sales people to point out the best fit for their needs & wants and will continue to buy from those who look out for their best interests.

When you are with an ethical, well-managed business, you will find that this is achievable.

Good luck to you, Mr. Orseno. Your family deserves for you to be with an organization which you can count on for long term relationships with customers.

One way to gain an objective measure of an organization's perspective on its desire for good long term relationships with its customers is to review their ratings with the Better Business Bureau.

A good rating suggests it is a great place for a salesman who wishes to have customers for life. A poor rating indicates that there is little interest other than making the sale.

Mr. Orseno, you may find that it is difficult to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Good luck to you, and keep a close eye on those BBB ratings.

Dormand,

I am just trying to make a living. I have to make money to survive just like everyone else. I understand what you are saying, however, the only people that are getting hurt by the slandering of Honda Cars of McKinney are the people that work there like me. The front-line people as I like to call them. Do you know that the #1 reason people buy is because of their salesperson? Because of that reason, it's directly my fault if I don't help people to purchase a car. Most people will then go somewhere else to buy. I can't blame Honda Cars of McKinney, because ultimately it is my customer service that brings my customers back. I know I take care of all my customers, and I would hope they would be able to tell people how great their experience was with me, and if by chance they did have a problem with something I did, I would hope they would tell me so I can correct it in the future. It's no surprise that I am here to sell cars, and people come in to buy them, it's really that simple. I don't play games or pressure people. I am truly sorry you had a bad experience with someone at Honda Cars of McKinney, however, if you ever want to come back, please see me, and I promise you will see things differently.

Anthony: while you may be an excellent, honest, trustworthy salesman, it is your management who creates the negative reputation of your dealership. Unless you actually have any say in the price negotiation process (salesmen usually don't), you're just the guy at the door who lures customers into the lion's den. As for a bad experience with "someone" at HMOC, you should take the time to read the comments on this forum which clearly demonstrate that your dealership has a reputation for shady / unethical business practices. It's not just one person.

Businesses that continue to add extra charges to bills and invoices are asking for problems in the future. Customers will no longer be customers. It makes no difference whether the extras are for paper work or disposal fees, customers are not pleased and one of two writers to the contrary does not change that.

I have family member that made the mistake of walking on to Honda cars of Mckinney lot and it all went very wrong from there. They rushed through the sales process, pushed to signpaperwork and out the door they go with a used car to drive and having signed lost title on their trade in..the financing part of the deal continued to be pushed 1,2,3,4 days and counting with no answers so they attempted to return the car and dropped the car at the dealership having at that time the trade vehicle still at home. The staff becamevery beligerant about the return of the vehicle and next thing you know they show up with a wrecker at their job and hauled off the car that was to be a trade in stating it belongedto the dealer ship..now understand at this point there is stillno details to be given on financing ..the dealer forced them to take the used car at that point now we are 3.5 weeks down the road and family memeber went in to inquire about financing and was thrown out of the finance office and the dealership ..today their car is gone ,they have possesion of used car ,no financing, and banned from the dealership..how about that for awesome customer service.. BUYER BEWARE dont let this dealership get you in their clutches....

Abused Customer...sounds like they got an even trade for their old car if the dealership is not coming up with financing

But seriously, who lets themselves get pushed around like that, I would have immediately called the police, the news, the BBB, and a lawyer... that is if I didn't just go in the dealership and retrieve my car.

If you want to pass on every penny of your cost doing business, should you also charge $0.01 for the ink you use to write up the service ticket, anothe $0.75 for the coke your drink while fixing the car,......
It is stupid to complain about $0.95 overcharge, but is even stupidier to make the $0.95 by a company who makes millionns of dollars each year!!!
Did you just give them another idea of how to get more money from their customers? I can't believe it!

Okay sir. I'm finished debating about this. I didn't set the prices, and the $0.95 document fee is there for a reason. The reason may not be important to you. But for a lot of other customers, it is. But I guess you can speak for everyone that services their cars with Honda Cars of Mckinney, can't you? Don't be too quick to judge, and have a great day.:)
Take it easy, Honda Cashier. And focus your efforts on other (more important) things in life rather than arguing with the very customers that help to pay your salary. And yes, Honda McKinney and every other dealership are rip-off artists... But I digress.

Honda Cars of Mckinney sold me a part that later I found out I didn't need. All the dealerships told me I needed it and that they wouldn't replace it under warranty. I have since learned that they will say anything not to have to fix your vehicle under warranty! They wouldn't take that part back because they said the box was too damaged! I called the GM and he said that it was a special order item and they don't take those back. Every person I talked to there looked at me like I was an idiot and then two service guys fed me some line about how this dealership is independently owned and operated and that Honda is a separate company! WOW! Talk about dishonest!!!! Why on earth you would sell a product and then when customers have an issue you tell them all sorts of crap and disown your affiliation with the product's company just so you aren't held liable for the part or defect. I have only one more comment for anyone who defends such a dishonest dealership....look at the common denominator in all the problems and that is where the catalyst lies.....

yeah i know the place in fact i work at honda cars of mckinney the service departement is usually slow because of advisor or porter errors its usually just something you need to check out when it starts taking to long and they will rush it for you or if you really need it fast just ask them not to wash it because the line for that can get really long
