Well, I shelled out all the money for the Success Program, and it turned out to be nothing but a diploma mill. Prospective employers just laugh in my face. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Last I checked, Bethel University and it's Success programs are all SACS accredited. Your degree is as legitimate as a degree from any other University in the country.

In addition, I'd be interested to know who/what employer is laughing at you because of your degree.

I know many people who have a degree from Bethel that have obtained successful jobs. To me, I'm curious if maybe the said potential employer(s) has something against Bethel in general.

how would your employer know what format you used to obtain your degree? I have to think an accredited degree is always acceptable whether it be from a Success program, a party school or any other college.

Completely agree. This must be a disgruntled employee of the program. Let me clue you in on something "IGotScrewed", the only person standing in your way is yourself. Tell us what employer laughed in your face so we can confirm this, otherwise your claim, is just that.

I don't know about the other person, but I applied foe a business job at West Tennessee Healthcare, and they told me they preferred an applicant with a degree with a business. They thought the Success degree was quote too generic. And yes I told them I went through the Success Program because they asked my course of study.

Well, judging by the grammatical errors in your post, I would assume you didn't pay close attention to your professors. The person, not the degree during the interview is what lands you the job. No degree, from any institution, will do you any good if you personally do not reflect professionalism, and the skills you would have learned as a student in that program. Not being negative, simply stating a fact that your degree is worthless without the afformentioned. If they were that impressed with you during the interview, the degree would simply be a fulfilled requirement, and your character/professionalism would have landed you the job, that is unless you were asking for more money than they were willing to pay for the position and if that be the case, you need to move to a bigger city as the demographics around this part of the country are, well, self explanatory.

And your bitchiness is, well, self-explanatory. I bet you work at Bethel.

No I do not work at Bethel but nice assumption. I do live in McKenzie but I am an HR Manager in Weakly County, Martin to be more specific. I see just as many people with UT degrees, as I do Bethel degrees and between the two I see the same problem. Folks who have a piece of paper stating they have a degree with an attitude and poor appearance to go along with it as if someone owes them something. Quite frankly I will not in any way shape or form even entertain the idea of hiring someone like that to represent my company. McDonalds will always have a place for people like that, but not here. If my "bitchiness" offends you, then good, I will assume you fall into that category. Have a nice day!

Hmmm, that's odd. Because my degree from the success program has landed me to very high paying jobs. No, those jobs are not with Bethel.

There are too many people who go to all the trouble to get a diploma but fail to learn the other simple skills required to get a job. A person who uses poor grammar, does not dress appropriately (short skirts, cleavage, not in a suit) will have difficulty finding a well paying job. And instead of saying the success program was the course of study say you studied business management which is more accurate.

Butterfly couldnt have said it better. Too many dipshits go through the program for the refund money, and expect because they half-ass attend class and trip over a diploma somewhere down the line they should be entitled to a good paying job where they can act like an incompetent immature jackass, and dress like a panhandler. Sorry it doesnt work that way. I too have landed a very nice job, and obtained my masters elsewhere thus have had many more great opportunities offered to me.

While going through the Success Program, more than half my class should not have been in college. It would not matter if they have a degree, they would never land a job. They never once changed their attitude throughout the program. They continued to speak like uneducated people and had absolutely no respect for themselves nor the people around them. I am not sure why some people think that a piece of paper will make them ready for a great job. I make over 6 figures now and my degree from the Success program is part of the reason, but attitude and respect for myself and others is what has driven me to the top.

Its a degree factory. It is wrong for us that take four years of our lives to get a degree. Bethel shells them out like copy machine to idiots just because they get paid more to graduate a person. I'm related to a individual that taught at Bethel he was pushed by Bethel to pass everyone so they didn't look bad. I see Bethel going belly in the future

I agree it is a diploma mill. I'm not sure if it will go belly up though. That diploma mill success program is what kept them from going under years ago. They had to come up with some way to get quick cash, so they developed a remedial college program for welfare recipients. Oh, and don't forget every success student gets a "free" computer! Heck, first the welfares get a free phone, now they have figured out how to get a free laptop. The workers (us)keep working to keep this money coming in for those who know how to scam the system. I don't think they really want a job, they just want to paid to go to school, and Bethel is happy because they are the recipient of the government money!!
