Sounds crazy? not really....yesterday I was travelling along I-65 and around Evergreen there was a big black animal on the side of the road. It was too big for a dog and I noticed it had a very, very long tail. About ten minutes down the road (toward Pensacola) something caught my eye in a tree. It was a live big black animal, looking to be the same as the dead one I had seen. It reached its paw down to the lower branch and it was huge.
Does anyone know of such an animal? My son-in-law said panthers are brown but I see on the internet there is a black panther too.
Would sure love to know what this animal was.
Thanks so much........Jackie Corby (Pensacola, FL)

Jackie - of course I can't guarantee that what you saw was a panther. However, I grew up about 10 miles south of Evergreen. I was always told that there are panthers in that "neck of the woods", and several times heard "screaming" in the woods at night and was told that it had to have been a panther. Cougars are also prevalent around the area, and I have seen several of them - most recently about 2 months ago.

Oh... and yes, Panthers are Black... here's a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_panther

i know for a fact that Evergreen does have black panthers... they are usually only seen in the woods. My friend lives way out in the county and when i go to visit her we can sometimes hear them scream. Sounds just like a woman screaming.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Virgo

If the past few days have been a blur of cooking, washing up and wrapping paper, take a break today and catch up with loved ones. Have a long talk with one of them so you can find out what they've been doing lately, or discuss a topic that concerns both of you. Right now, you're blessed with plenty of diplomacy so the conversation should go well.
