McKEESPORT, Pa. Bullets flew on New Year's Day in McKeesport. Emergency dispatchers told Channel 11 News that multiple people were wounded, at least one seriously.
Channel 11's Brittny McGraw reports that the shooting occurred on Versailles Avenue near Coursin Street at approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
McGraw reported seeing a lot of police cars at the scene. She said that, at one point, several people were in the back of those vehicles. It is not known, however, whether they were suspects or witnesses.
Crime scene investigators were also spotted at the scene collecting evidence.

Unbelievable. The kid posts an invite on FB for his New Years Eve party, and then wonders why things get out of control when 150 people show up.

The WPXI interview below is an earlier broadcast and was apparently edited for the daytime broadcast. The video clip I just watched on WPXI at 5:00 had the party host looking into the camera saying that if he sees the known shooter he will kill him.

Batter up.......

One for each business the senator lied about bringing to McKeesport. For every one job gained, ten are lost in McKeesport lately. Especially with the large layoffs from U.S. Steel/Camp Hill.

The channel 2 news (aka WPXI) reported -McKeesport has more murders and drugs than Pittsburgh! McKeesport police were interviewed blaming education.

I think the senator failed to mention turned head to drug dealers. Houses with tons of traffic parking in the middle if the street. If the know police and are connected with a bar - they get a pass.

If the best education in McKeesport is teacher sex in classrooms (Cornell that was torn down) no wonder!

McKeesport earned its own poor reputation. 100 miles away McKeesport has a bad name in any direction!

That stuck with you too? How's his friend doing? Either way keep watching because this party is going to have repercussions, and soon.

The chief last year noted shootings months after January 1 last year. This year McKeesport shootings stared New Years Day!

How about the McKeesport city solicitor drunk driving? Sooner this year?

Yeah, and he should have made them bring something. No Kentucky Fried Chicken, no entry! That party host life in McKeesport was probably about 2 years. He thought the man was a brother from another mother. Wrong, I bet the shooter was born and raised in the Mon Valley also.

Why did the man let them in his crib/house? He must have been friends with them. Since he's born and raised in the area, is that the best if his intellect? Let shooters and drug dealers into his house. Maybe the police should hold the house owner responsible! He let them in and knew them. Another drug man claiming he lived in the Port all his life. Keep an eye on the house owner that threatened to kill the shooter! He's just as bad as the company he keeps!

My bad, the visitors brought the drugs into the party host house! I bet that's the reason he let them guys he didn't know in. They brought drugs with them, and the house owner does drugs!

Get your facts right numb nuts. Maybe a bit more education would help you understand the nuance of that news cast.
Pittsburgh had 42 homicides last year. McKeesport had 9. We're contenders, all right. But as suburbs go, Wilkinsburg had more with 12.

Come on now! Do you actually think that the police would have gotten to the scene in time enough to actually be able to get the shooters?

I can not read where anyone implied such was possible! I doubt they could have stopped it even if they were security at the partt.

Actually it may have been a "per capita" comparison.

Pgh and Wil. have higher populations compared to McKeesport....wer can still be a higher per-capita homicide rate with fewer homicides.

Get your facts straight numb nuts!!! that extrapolates out to the Port Leading the way with a Murder rate 4 times higher than the Great City of Pittsburgh!!! The Port is approx. 1 for every 2100 peeps livin the life, while the City of Pittsburgh's murder rate is 1 for every 8,100 people. Thes numbers are rounded off of course. Do the math yourself if you can.. but no matter how you shake it.. the Port is leading the way!! That does not count the shootings... just the Killings..

McPherson,

It's based on population figures. McKeesport has 1 death for only 2,000 residents. Pittsburgh, 1 death for 8,000 residents. The racial nickname is for what purpose?

Too many McKeesport shootings to count. That man posted his New Year's Eve party on Facebook. He made a threat on the news. McPherson and math? Forget it.
