All laws are on the books are for usually very good reasons. These laws were debated for considerable time by elected officials before being adopted by local, state, or federal law makers.

They range from parking tickets, to my dog pooping on the sidewalk to high treason and first degree murder. Should all the law enforcement agencies concentrate on treason and murder ONLY and then work their way down the ladder of degree of harm and danger to society and country?

When the US Marshalls, CIA, FBI, INTERPOL, and SEALS chase the bad persons to the four corners of the earth, I guess that is a witch hunt in your opinion.

Many people do not care about the million dollar embezzlements in the financial industry or Ponzi schemes or misdoings by governors, but thankfully the government does and they prosecute accordingly.

To jog your memory, the authorities recently completed their witch hunt on Jessie Jacksons son and his spouse. Case closed and he went to the cage.

I wouldnt say money was wasted..they conficated 1.1 million which pays for the investigation and then some , plus the IRS will put the screws to these scumbags that will own tons of money to the federal and state governments. I'd say they made a profit on these scumbags..........YES! we went on a witch hunt and caught a bunch of lowlife scumbags..more to follow!
and more on the way!

Excellent rebuttal and very accurate and logical. I tend to agree with your prognosis for the corrupt organizations future. You have demonstrated very clearly that "Witch Hunting" is a very good profit center for AG Kathy Kane and the PA State Police.

But we have to be very cautious or patient because "Witches" are know to disappear with or without their broom sticks.

Yes, the feds have not weighted in yet. I would expect the IRS to liquidate all of Red's toys, homes, and very expensive condo. Justice prevails on this one.

You are on to something big with the amount of confiscated cash to date and the future of confiscating expensive real estate owned by the dumb as a box of rocks guy and others, and the stiff federal fines.

If the feds jump in the total state and federal amount could exceed a few million. Not bad, and we thank all the law enforcement officials. Too bad the MPD and DA could not get a cut of this. It would have sure helped the city with its budget.

If the IRS jumps on and the Federal RICO Act is invoked, it could financially obliterate the Operation Pork Chop culprits. The feds jumping on could be the Operation Port Chopper's organization biggest nightmare.

Wrong office to speed dial for state -- that location is for the feds. Unless they flipped to the Feds because of the income tax avoidance concerns. Their worst fear could be the next gigantic shoe to come crashing down on their wealthy peace and tranquilly life styles.

The IRS cleaned out Huston and he is in the cage where he should be for a long time.

What odds are Holtzman or Pero or Red giving on the speculation that one or more locally elected officials may not complete their current term in office?

Some sports betters seem to forget that all incoming sports bettings may have been recorded by the State Police and recorded in the 134 page search warrant affidavit.

You got it right Debra. It is all to protect Rivers Casino from competition. Headlines and they will get fines or probation. The city collected amusement tax on those machines because that's the way it's always been. They got Porkys money. He just got too big. That's how he got the target on his back.He was donating to the Democrats and this was a Republican investigation that went down after the Democrat AG took office.

If they scooped up all the ca$h and dope the drug dealers have, confiscated their big ticket automobiles and sold them at auction I think it'd be more than 1.1 million total.

Again, machines in bars etc. are not a real threat. Bigger fish to fry....or are they scared?

I think they got the drug runner Huston. They got his bar, his James Street home, and his upscale SUV. So you cannot say they did not fry a bigger fish.

It was reported by the news media they found some contraband in the Porkster's home. Are they are the right track for you?

I believe they nailed a big drug ring working out of Homestead. They seem to be doing their job.

You should be done because your are delusional and refuse to recognize reality and facts and ignore history.

The Feds bust scared more than urine out of Huston and others. It incarcerated Huston and liquidated all his ill gotten assets. In other words, it put him out of the drug business.

There is another unnamed person recently released from the cage for drug and income tax infractions who may have lost some upscale property in the Circleville area. I guess Huston and this unnamed person are small fish to you?

The feds a few years ago raided the old Gilberts lumber yard complex and nailed a McKeesport businesses man for shamming the federal government out stealing 911 related building material intended to repair the Pentagon. I guess this million dollar bust was another small fish to you?

The feds nailed a former City councilman years ago for unauthorized tapping of a telephone line of a late MASD school director. The former councilman got cage time.

Years ago the feds nailed a former McKeesport Hospital CEO for kickbacks and favors from contractors remodeling the hospital. I believe he served cage time. He immediately was fired from the hospital.

The feds recently convicted McKeesport BP owner for a bungled attempt at insurance fraud. He plea bargained a lesser sentence but they stung him real good with restitution and a fine.

Sometimes large fish, come in smaller sizes.

No city in the world is 100% clean, but at least the legal scrubbing brush is at work in the McKeesport centered Operation Pork Chop. And, I am confident that the scrubbing brush is hard at work in cleansing non-McKeesport culprits involved with the Porkster.

Only time will tell if any of these alleged culprits or elected officials or appointees will be convicted.

If convicted, the collection of these persons of interest should well occupy a large fish frying pan.

Do your homework and be informed before casting a broad brush condemnation of federal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies' fishing habits.

Yes you're right kickbacks, insurance fraud, scamming the government out of 911 building material, tapping the phone line 40 YEARS AGO, the CEO from McKeesport Hospital receiving kickbacks (for which he never served a day in jail), and now we got those damn poker machine thugs!!! These are the real problems in our city. The city should be just fine now. Why I'll bet the murders and all the drugs are gone!

The authorities are concerned both about the sources of illegal monies from the Operation Pork Chop organization and the USE OF THESE ILLEGAL MONIES funneled to the politicians by political contributions or some other covert illegal method.

The "illegal and legal" monies to politicians were then used by them to "buy" elections. What do you think was the big source of the funds to pay for political road signs, robot calls, slate sheets, news media advertisements, contributions to churches, non-profits, etc. And above all, paid campaign manager, paid campaign workers, and paid workers at the polls. That is why the same machine candidates win year after year. Senator Brewster's campaign contributed $8000 to Mr. Cherepko.

I think this is one aspect of interest to the authorities. Organized Corruption breeds policitial dominance and corruption. The authorities have to attack the source of $$$$$$ to track it to how it was used to buy and control political power. And, as the Porkster said paraphrased: I own this city and the its police force. Enough said above the investigation motives, IMO.

As this case unfolds, perhaps this will become more clear to those who poo poo this as a gambling issue only that has been here for years, and every community has it.

How the politicians used the legal and illegal monies is the primacy question I suspect; and of course were the recipients of these monies IRS tax code compliant. This is the big issue IMO.

PS: You may be correct on the McKeesport Hospital CEO; I think he received years of probation; I think he went off to Florida, and later I heard he was involved with the health industry in Japan; my sources are all street rumors so I defer to your better historical knowledge. I do recall that someone he employed flipped on him. This case should be required reading by City Administration for their recent firings of the former Business Mgr., CD Director, and MACM Superintendent. Beware, Karma can be cruel and legally dangerous at times.

The AG has a mixed bag of arrests and other criminal activity. It's not only about poker machines.Illegal gambling is under the umbrella of corruption and tax evasions. Ms Kane does not discriminate against scum and corruption. Wouldnt it be nice if we all could earn an honest ( or dishonest ) business and not pay taxes? I know I pay taxes on my full income. I cant hide my money in a recliner or safety deposit box without the IRS finding out about it, that being said after the proper taxes are paid by me, then I can hide all the money I want to, like my father did after the depression, after the banks went under people did hide their money in mason jars buried in the back yard, and hid the money in mattresses,no one had faith in the banks after losing all their money back then..... but AFTER paying their taxes is when they hid their money. Operation Porky Pig was a non tax paying business, with many hands open to receive hush and protection money . Somone was 'cut out' from the crime loop from reasons unknown and pointed fingers, that person/persons will remain anonymous and will never be found.
It's called witness protection program.

Mayor Cherepko you have a cash ending balance of $19,874.33 on June 11, 2013 according to your publically filed Campaign Finance Report.

You have plenty $$$$ to return the questionable $4,050 contribution to the Porkster.

Nice to see that politicians like Barry, Kortz, Walsh, and Maglicco contributed to you.

A thousand dollar contribution from Tom Clark, Mike Adams, Nickolich helped to build your treasure chest.

I notice a lot of the City's vendors returned the favor of contracts, including Mr. Barry and his anticipated MDC backed candidate for a AJ Council's vacancy.

How can Mr. Barry have two contracts with the City and be legally considered for a elected council position? Is the City above the law again?

Of course we already know how your solicitor will offer an opinion on this one. We hope the State Ethics Commission is offered an opportunity to review this one. AG Kane may be interested now that her staff has the inside scoop on the City based gambling devices.

They get a share of it already under the table as the machines. They protect the drug dealers in McKeesport like Ronald "Porky" Melocchi of the gambling game. When porky said he gets favors and is a criminal, so do the drug dealers receive McKeesport protection. Favors for money is the McKeesport way, as usual.

McKeesport makes money off keeping abandoned buildings. Those thousands of abandoned houses in McKeesport is a standard in that city! The city makes money from problems they keep because the government finds problem areas. McKeesport doesn't want to solve the drug problem as they received information on drug dealers and houses from several residents. The politicians and police in McKeesport failed to act on detail information.

This explains the suspiciousness of Bethany Budd B. forced out of CDBG affairs!

If the problem politicians and crooked police go, the drug problem goes with it. Drugs will go in McKeesport with each corrupt politician busted in gambling and other McKeesport illegal affairs.

Since the McKeesport police live at The Viking bar and gambling went on for years, Porky had favors!

The police didn't act because councilman D. Carr and officers are involved in the illegal gambling. Mind you, this is why drugs flourish in McKeesport. The police simply look the other way when proper information has been given. The pay scam dealt with illegal forgery of the judges name by police! In McKeesport, the police, two very high ranking officers, were involved! Cannot trust the McKeesport police nor the mayor and Senator Brewster endorsed and groomed the current mayor. The police are more to believe say so of friends rather than proper detailed information on true drug dealers! McKeesport is a total loss for the national government and residents.

The government funds problem areas like McKeesport. This is why your businesses with never be shoulder to shoulder by the current mayors own admission. This is how you know the mayor plans failure for McKeesport, in exchange for government program funds to the city in his pocket, his new house built as is going on now!
