Parents pay taxes for someone to protect our children while crossing streets going and coming from school. Don't be a moron..<quoted text>
Teachers are paid to deal with "our little angels" all day, in the school, then go home and plan for the next days' lessons.
Why aren't PARENTS volunteering to be crossing guards ? There are certainly a lot of stay-at-home parents who could spare an hour each day to cover the crossing.

....being a moron is suggesting that teachers should also be crossing guards.
And our taxes ALSO pay to have clean schools. Maybe the teachers should clean the toilets and mop the halls.
Our taxes pay for lights and plumbing for our kids at school too. So lets have the teachers also be responsible for fixing those when there are issues.
Thinking the way you do is being a "moron".
Teachers work all day keeping our kids safe in their classrooms and teach them and prepare them to be productive citizens, sometimes with NO support from the parents. Then after a day of dealing with ignorant and rude kids they have to go home and grade papers and assignments. Then after THAT they have to prepare for the next day.
Lauren, can you please tell the forum what you do for a living? When you punch out for the day, do you hang around to empty your trash can or mop the floors where you work? No, you punch out and go home.
Teachers keep working after they go home.
I have worked with a few teachers in particular who teach all day then stay late to get ready for school musicals, then spend all weekend at the school doing the same.
Teachers are teachers. Not crossing guards.
Hey Lauren, after you work your 8 (with a half hour lunch and 2 or 3 smoke breaks, howzabout you saunter your ass over to oneil and edenpark blvd for a half hour and protect your own kids as well as others?
You know its a huge danger now....you are so concerned, why not DO something rather than just post your big ideas here?
(That assumes you work....and if you do not, then you have even LESS a reason to not help out.)
I'll tell ya why...cause you and some others here have NO CLUE.
YES we need crossing guards there.
But until that happens, the problem is easily solved. Volunteers can fill the void for now to prevent another death.
Its easy to sit back and call me a moron for suggesting that.
But your comment is so much more productive, eh? LOL
