Millions of Americans are "paying more and getting less" under Obamacare.?????????
We’ve tackled claims about lost insurance and access to personal doctors before. But we haven’t heard someone say that the health care law is causing people to pay more for less, so we decided to check it out.
There are a lot of factors in the health care law — and health insurance in general — that make it difficult to pin down whether people are paying more or less for coverage.
In general, insurance premiums were increasing every year well before Obamacare became law. In fact, rates have increased consistently during the last 15 years. But there are signs that the rate of the increase has declined since the law was passed.

Obama unconcerned by Al Sharpton's history with the FBI and mafia
APRIL 9, 2014
President Obama isn't worried about the Rev. Al Sharpton's history as an FBI informant with ties to the mafia, his spokesman said, and doesn't think that the news makes his impending visit to Sharpton's National Action Network awkward.
"Rev. Sharpton and the National Action Network have made significant contributions to civil rights efforts, and the President looks forward to appearing at the conference," White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters during the Wednesday press gaggle.
Sharpton was "rolled" by the FBI after they caught him on tape using his credibility as a civil rights leader to attempt to cut a deal with the mob, according to a former New York State law enforcement official who says he listened to a wiretap of Sharpton's conversation with crime boss Joseph Pagano.

Retirement assets at the end of 2013 were the highest on record, a strong indication that many savers have seen their investment accounts bounce back from the financial crisis of 2008 when the stock market fell so hard it lost nearly half its value.
Following a strong equity market in 2013, retirement assets at the end of the year had grown to $19 trillion compared to $16.3 trillion at the end of 2012, according to the Retirement Market Insights Report 2014 prepared by Chicago-based Spectrem Group.
"The total retirement assets now are greater than they were before the recession," said George Walper Jr., president of Spectrem Group. "All of the accounts have grown primarily due to record stock markets last year.
"But people also are continuing to make contributions to their retirement accounts. More people are working now — due to lower unemployment — and more employers also have restarted matching 401(k) plan contributions. All these things are driven by the economy as a whole being stronger today versus 2009."

House panel asks feds to consider criminal charges against Lois Lerner
April 9, 2014
After a two-hour meeting behind closed doors, the House Ways and Means Committee voted along partisan lines on Wednesday to officially urge Attorney General Eric Holder to consider criminal charges against former IRS official Lois Lerner.
The vote was based on evidence the committee uncovered while investigating the undue scrutiny that the IRS placed on conservative and liberal groups that filed for tax-exempt status during the 2012 elections.
After the scandal broke last year, multiple congressional committees opened investigations into the matter and held several hearings to get to the bottom of it. Unlike other House committees, the Ways and Means committee had access to confidential taxpayer information that shed more light on the issue.
In the criminal referral letter it will send to Holder, the committee lays out three specific ways Lerner may have violated the law. Based on Lerner's communications and actions, the committee charges that Lerner improperly used her position to influence action against conservative groups like Crossroads GPS while showing leniency toward similar liberal groups like Priorities USA.
The committee also charges that, according to her communications, Lerner knowingly gave misleading statements to the Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), the internal IRS watchdog, when TIGTA was investigating the controversy. Lastly, the committee says in its letter to Holder that Lerner used her personal email address to conduct official business, putting at risk confidential taxpayer information.
Upon releasing the letter to Holder, committee chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., said in a statement that Lerner took "serious, unprecedented" actions" to unfairly target conservative groups.

Lerner mentioned Organizing for Action job
April 09, 2014
Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of the agency’s Tea Party controversy, mentioned potentially getting a job at an offshoot of President Obama’s campaign, according to newly released documents.
Lerner, discussing Organizing for Action with colleagues on email in 2013, said “Oh--maybe I can get the DC office job!”
It’s unclear whether Lerner was joking, but one of her colleagues, Sharon Light, then asked another, Holly Paz, if Lerner was considering retirement.
Organizing for Action is a political advocacy group that was formed from the remnants of Obama's reelection campaign.
The House Ways and Means Committee referenced the email chain in its letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday, in which Republicans urge the Justice Department to investigate whether Lerner should be prosecuted for several crimes.

Voter fraud: Multiple-voting Melowese Richardson gets a federal pass
March 29, 2014
Eric Holder's Justice Department wastes no time suing states over their voter ID laws — to protect the franchise, he says. But a fraudster who repeatedly voted for President Obama? Why, she gets a pass.
Consider the celebrity status bestowed upon Melowese Richardson, the Ohio poll worker who admitted she voted six times for President Obama in 2012. Typically, voting just twice for president is enough to draw a federal felony charge.
Ms. Richardson was charged and convicted under state law in Ohio and sentenced to five years in prison last year. But after serving a mere eight months, a state judge dismissed her conviction and allowed her to plead “no contest” to four counts of illegal voting, reports J. Christian Adams for Breitbart.
Recently, Richardson turned up at a “voting rights” rally in Cincinnati, where she was warmly received and embraced by Al Sharpton.(Of course.)

IRS agents’ testimony: NO progressive groups were targeted by IRS
IRS agents testified before Congress that the agency’s political targeting did not apply to progressive groups as Democrats and the media have claimed, according to a bombshell new staff report prepared by the House Oversight Committee chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa.
IRS agents testified before Oversight that ACORN groups were scrutinized because the agency thought they were old organizations applying as new ones. Emerge America was scrutinized for potential “improper private benefit.” No evidence exists that the IRS requested additional information from any Occupy Wall Street group.
“Only seven applications in the IRS backlog contained the word ‘progressive,’ all of which were then approved by the IRS, while Tea Party groups received unprecedented review and experienced years-long delays. While some liberal-oriented groups were singled out for scrutiny, evidence shows it was due to non-political reasons,” according to the Oversight staff report, which was obtained by The Daily Caller.
“[T]he Administration and congressional Democrats have seized upon the notion that the IRS’s targeting was not just limited to conservative applicants,” the report states.“These Democratic claims are flat-out wrong and have no basis in any thorough examination of the facts. Yet, the Administration’s chief defenders continue to make these assertions in a concerted effort to deflect and distract from the truth about the IRS’s targeting of tax-exempt applicants.”
“[T]here is simply no evidence that any liberal or progressive group received enhanced scrutiny because its application reflected the organization’s political views,” the report stated.

Facts Derail Lying Sharpton's Informant Tale
April 9, 2014
Former FBI Mafia snitch spins fabricated story of "CI-7" work
In a desperate effort to explain away his work as a paid government informant, the Rev. Al Sharpton yesterday claimed that he first ran into the FBI’s arms after his life was threatened by gangsters, an incident that prompted him to then record 10 face-to-face encounters with one of those dangerous hoodlums.
That story is a lie.
In fact, Sharpton’s fabricated tale is belied by FBI records that provide a clear account of when and why he began working as a cooperating informant. After unveiling his fable at a morning press conference, Sharpton repeated his claims last night at the close of his “PoliticsNation” show on MSNBC, where fact checkers and bosses alike do not appear concerned with the truthfulness of the host’s off- and on-air pronouncements.
Here is what actually happened:
Sharpton began cooperating with the FBI in mid-1983. So he had actually been working as a confidential informant for about nine months before Pisello’s purported threat, an encounter that Sharpton now falsely claims prompted him to first contact federal agents (and subsequently begin recording Buonanno).
The reverend was “flipped” by FBI agents three months after he was filmed in March 1983 (during a bureau sting) talking cocaine with an undercover agent. On a Thursday afternoon in June 1983, Sharpton showed up at a Manhattan apartment expecting to meet again with the undercover agent, who was posing as a former South American druglord seeking to launder money through boxing promotions.
Instead, Sharpton was confronted by FBI agents who showed him the “cocaine” videotape. The panicked reverend agreed--on the spot--to cooperate with federal agents, according to sources familiar with the contents of Sharpton’s FBI informant file.

BREAKING: Emails Show Lois Lerner Fed True the Vote Tax Information to Democrat Elijah Cummings
Apr 09, 2014
New IRS emails released by the House Oversight Committee show staff working for Democratic Ranking Member Elijah Cummings communicated with the IRS multiple times between 2012 and 2013 about voter fraud prevention group True the Vote.
True the Vote was targeted by the IRS after applying for tax exempt status more than two years ago. Further, information shows the IRS and Cummings' staff asked for nearly identical information from True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht about her organization, indicating coordination and improper sharing of confidential taxpayer information.
Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Darrell Issa, along with five Subcommittee Chairmen are demanding Cummings provide an explanation for the staff inquiries to the IRS about True the Vote and for his denial that his staff ever contacted the IRS about the group.
“Although you have previously denied that your staff made inquiries to the IRS about conservative organization True the Vote that may have led to additional agency scrutiny, communication records between your staff and IRS officials – which you did not disclose to Majority Members or staff – indicates otherwise,” the letter to Cummings states.“
As the Committee is scheduled to consider a resolution holding Ms. Lerner, a participant in responding to your communications that you failed to disclose, in contempt of Congress, you have an obligation to fully explain your staff’s undisclosed contacts with the IRS.”

Brandeis won’t give honorary degree to Islam critic
April 09, 2014
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a prominent advocate for women’s rights and an outspoken critic of Islam, denounced Brandeis University Wednesday for abruptly withdrawing its offer of an honorary degree, accusing the school of stifling free speech.
The Waltham university announced late Tuesday that it would not honor the Somali-born activist at its graduation ceremonies next month, voicing concern about her inflammatory statements, including that “violence is inherent in Islam.”
In a sharply worded response, Hirsi Ali assailed Brandeis officials Wednesday, saying they had bowed to critics who “simply wanted me to be silenced.”
“What was initially intended as an honor has now devolved into a moment of shaming,” she said in a statement.“Yet the slur on my reputation is not the worst aspect of this episode. More deplorable is that an institution set up on the basis of religious freedom should today so deeply betray its own founding principles.”

It’s a ‘Mega-trap’! Obama-backed solar facility incinerates birds
Travelers may be awed by the site of the Ivanpah solar power plant on the drive between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, but get too close and they may find themselves in the midst of an animal “mega-trap” full of scorched birds and insects.
“It appears that Ivanpah may act as a ‘mega-trap,’ attracting insect-eating birds, which are incapacitated by solar flux injury, thus attracting predators and creating an entire food chain vulnerable to injury and death,” according to a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service report.
The FWS report details bird deaths at three solar facilities in southern California — Ivanpah, Desert Sunlight and Genesis. Officials examined the remains of 233 birds and found that “solar flux” was the leading cause of death at Ivanpah. Basically, the birds were incinerated as they flew over the installation, according to the FWS report obtained by KCET.
FWS reports that 47 of the 141 dead birds found at Ivanpah were essentially burnt up — sometimes whole birds and bugs are even incinerated. Damage to the birds’ feathers ranged from “singeing to charring, and a few instances of skin burns,” reports KCET.
“Forensic Lab staff observed a falcon or falcon-like bird with a plume of smoke arising from the tail as it passed through the flux field,” the FWS report said.“Immediately after encountering the flux, the bird exhibited a controlled loss of stability and altitude but was able to cross the perimeter fence before landing.”

Journalists’ guide to Islam called cave-in to political correctness
April 10, 2014
In 2005, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published two editorial cartoons depicting the Islamic prophet, calling the effort an attempt to contribute to the debate about criticism of Islam and self-censorship. Predictably, Muslim groups in Denmark complained and protests took place around the world, including violent demonstrations in some Muslim countries.
Jutte Klausen, a professor at Brandeis University, wrote the book “The Cartoons that Shook the World” about the events, only to see the offending images cut by publisher Yale University.
“My book was censored,” Klausen told FoxNews.com .“The issue was that nobody really understood what the cartoons meant. It was a different dilemma for the media at the time when they were published. No one was prepared for an international media landscape and how something like this could have different meanings for different people.
“After that it became a matter of security,” she added.“But security is often an excuse for censorship.”
