I know what separates the areas again, I live in Fawcett Plan. Also how many kids do you think Wgite Oak has to make it on its own. You need McKeeaport as much as they need White Oak. Without one the other will just fall apart. Again get over yourself White Oak will always be part of McKeesport shadow.
Just dont get it

No, White Oak has enough kids to make this work, and more are moving in all the time. We just need to better regulate the rentals so we can control who is moving in. This is not racial... glassporters need to stay out too. It is socio-economic. Keep prices up... keeps people who can't afford it out. Why do you think the solicitor moved to White Oak? Why do you think Wash moved to Elizabeth TWP. I grew up in Elizabeth TWP, we never heard of McKeesport. I did not even know where it was growing up, too bad I found out. When I moved, I chose White Oak because of the schools. No way I was sending my kids to GW or Centennial.. now.. they are stuck with those kids for 1 more year. Trust me, in HS, they will go to Serra or another advanced academic private school.

Also last time I checked Serra is located in McKeeaport . So no matter what you do, or aslong as you live in the 15131 zip code. You will have McKeesport sorry get use to it or go back to EF. Remember this McKeesport built this area with its hard workers, and mills back in the day. Sorry the way it is now but it what it is......

Check again, Serra is in White Oak, as is Penn State. McKeesport built Nothing. It does not represent hard work .. it represents living off the system and "gubbermant" checks. Look into the Postal situation, There has been a petetion submitted that is being considered by the USPS to remove McKeesport and replace it with White Oak from our postal designation. It is going to happen, but USPS is a government agency, so it will not be over night. Remember this.. look down by the river.. the Mills are gone ... and White Oak has the largest tax base contributing to the school district. Yes, there are houses for sale, and they are actually being sold.. New younger FAMILIES are moving in. Look around The Port... no one is buying them. In my neighborhood alone, 5 older people have moved on, it is the natural turnover of a neighborhood. My property is worth more in White Oak than it would be in the Port..that is a plain fact. Real Estate agents stop by about 2 or 3 times a month asking about it. Why do you think the MASD is building 2 of the 3 new schools in White Oak... They do not want White Oak to leave the district.

What is even funnier, is I spoke to someone who lives up on Grandview, and McKeesport does not consider Fawcett part of McKeesport. I actually think Fawcett is the best neighborhood to live in if you have to live in McKeesport. it is close to Penn State, Pizza Gyro and Bootsies are right there, You are right by White Oak and away from most of the Criminal Element that has overrun most of McKeesport.

Serra Catholic High School, 200 Hershey Drive McKeesport, PA 15132. Nice try creep.

Penn State Greater Allegheny - 4000 University Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132. Another Epic Fail on your part.

Secondly, the district is adding on to McClure. It is BUILDING one new school on the Cornell site in McKeesport.

I am hearing that the eminent domain idea has been shut down and the third school, if built, will be built in McKeesport. We'll have to see on that one.

The largest portion of the MASD tax base is in McKeesport. The four other sister communities, White Oak included, constitute less than 50% of the tax base.

If your house were in the Haler Heights neighborhood of Mckeesport, Peterson Plan, or Myer Park, it would likely be worth more.

The Majority of the Penn State Campus sits inside the boro of White Oak, as does Serra Catholic HS. Your calculation is off when you consider who actually pays their taxes to the district. McKeesport has the highest rate of non- income earning tax base in the state of Pennsylvania. That reduces the potential earning tax base of McKeesport by almost 10,000 people on welfare or getting their income subsidized by the state. Their Welfare and SSI are not treated as income for tax purposes. White Oak taxes fund more that 60% of the district budget, fact.. right from a member of the MASD. McKeesport is down to just over 19,000 population , while White Oak has increased every year for the past 10 since the 2000 census. Haler Heights is on the White Oak side of Renzie Park, and it is the nicest area of McKeesport, but Meyer Park is not, it is becoming over run by riff raff from Jenny Lind. EVERYONE in Haler Heights wants their property switched to White Oak. Ina Jean is working on that too. The Peterson plan is on a par with Christy Park and Versailles. Versailles is even a more desireable neighborhood than the Port... Your arguement is baseless. Why do you think Penn State University disassociated itself with McKeesport? Go to a Serra Catholic Athletic event and ask them where they are located? Eveeryone of them will say White Oak. That is the truth, I have done it. Point is, the Port is no longer relevant. It should be unincorporated as a City and turned over to the county for emergency services and dissolve the entire city government. There is just no need anymore. Keep living in the past. I feel bad for you. As far as the 3rd school goes, it is not going to be on the emminant domain site, it is going to be on property in White Oak behind Penn State if they are not able to aquire that site. 2 of the 3 schools in White Oak... doing that for a reason. Even the new soccer prgram starting up is playing in White Oak at McClure instead of the HS field. Everything is shifting to White Oak, except Propel.. and McKeesport deserves Propel.

By your logic, then Versailles and Boston are in McKeesport as well. Boston is Elizabeth Township, and Versailles is a completly different town. having a postal code that reads McKeesport does not make you a resodent of McKeesport. The USPS is working on changing those. Just not happeneing yet. takes time.

15131 is White Oak. 15132 is McKeesport. You are ntirely incorrect. Penn State McKeesport, by any other name, is still Penn State Mckeesport. When the eventual merger of Allegheny County communities comes to pass, McKeesport will annex White Oak and you will have invested in McKeesport. Thanks for your support.

The McKeesport police are always willing to rough up the public. Debt, hate for various reasons are more suspected for police to abuse homeowners. Crime is not a issue in McKeesport apparently. The legal issues of McKeesport with fees are about to become increased.

Debt has always been a legal issue only in the United States.

What are you people talking about? The McKeesport Police have way too much to handle with the Drug trafficing, violent crimes like armed robbery and leading the county in Multiple Murders every year for the past 5. They do not just drive around roughing up people just because they do not like you. That is just rediculous. If any of them did that, they would be thrown in Jail, just like has happened in the Port already and now in Pgh itself. Assistant Chief Holtzman would NEVER tolerate bullying from his officers.

McKeesport officials played games with a garage using eminent domain. They could have simply removed the blue benches or abandoned property but had something against a some very decent business owners. Probably why gaining business in McKeesport isn't easy. They didn't help several businesses after robberies, reason the GetGo left McKeesport. The Big Dollar told me they gave her a hard time and were sarcastic to her. I hope they solve the McKeesport Union/Versailles Ave. area store and find/arrest the robber using the video surveillance.

Holtzman, others waive gambling cases

Published: Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, 11:09 a.m.
Updated 9 hours ago

Forward Township police Chief Mark Holtzman and three others facing criminal charges for their alleged involvement in an illegal Mon Valley gambling operation waived their cases to court Thursday morning.

Holtzman, 57, of McKeesport is charged with gambling devices, conspiracy and two counts of corrupt organization.

Holtzman was accompanied by his attorney Chuck LoPresti at preliminary hearing before Forest Hills Magisterial District Judge Thomas Caulifield.

Charges against Holtzman stem from an investigation by the Attorney General's Organized Crime Section and state police centered around alleged gambling ring leader Ronald “Porky” Melocchi Sr., owner of Glassport-based Back Alley Vending.

“I can't get into discussions that I'm having with my client,” LoPresti said.“I can tell you procedurally today what we did was waive the case, in its entirety with no amendments, into court. We intend to continue to have discussions with the attorney general's office. We respect what they've done so far. Hopefully we'll be able to make something very positive happen here as a result of all the negativity that's occurring. That's my goal here. It's no secret. We're just trying to save a guy's life and a guy's job.”

Holtzman, a McKeesport Area school director and retired McKeesport police sergeant, remains Forward Township's police chief as the case continues.

Clairton Municipal Authority board member James Cerqua, 57, of Clairton, waived to court charges of dealing in proceeds of illegal activity, gambling devices, pool selling and bookmaking and two counts of corrupt organization.

Rodney Elia Iannelli, 53, of Ohio Township, waived to court charges of dealing in proceeds of illegal activity, lotteries, conspiracy and two counts of corrupt organization.

Terence P. McNelis, 52, of White Hall, waived to court charges of corrupt organization, dealing in proceeds of illegal activity, lotteries, pool selling and bookmaking and conspiracy.

A preliminary hearing for Twin Oaks owner Mark Novakovich was postponed to Nov. 21 at 9 a.m. at the defense's request.

Novakovich, 55, of White Oak is charged with gambling devices.

Formal arraignment for those who waived on Thursday is Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.
