Mom knowingly and actively participates in fraudulent activity yet cries "foul" when her son is kicked off the team for disciplinary reasons.

McKEESPORT, Pa.
It's against the rules in Pennsylvania for a high school coach to recruit a player from another school. Often, there are rumors. Rarely is a serious allegation made.

Logan Holtzman used to play football for McKeesport Area High School, in the city where his mother, Audra Coleman, lives. Coleman told WTAE reporter Paul Van Osdol that Steel Valley High School coach Rodney Steele repeatedly contacted her son, even while Logan was working at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant.

As part of the alleged recruiting effort, Coleman said Steele and another coach took her and her son to a restaurant for dinner. She said they talked about football, about Logan being a starter, and "that he would be better off at Steel Valley because the coaches knew him there."

Coleman said Steele also took her to a lawyer at a downtown Pittsburgh office building, where she signed papers allowing Logan to live with his stepfather in the Steel Valley School District.

The WPIAL, which oversees local high school athletics, approved the transfer based on Coleman's testimony that it was for social reasons. She said Steele coached her on how to fill out the form.

"He told me what to write on the paperwork for McKeesport to get Logan transferred, so they didn't have any notification that he was leaving for any kind of athletic intent," Coleman said.

Coleman now admits she lied, hoping the transfer would help Logan get a college scholarship. "I felt like I allowed my son to be exploited," she said.

While Coleman said Steele should be held accountable, Steele said Coleman is just upset because he kicked her son off the football team for disciplinary reasons. He denies ever recruiting a player to come to Steel Valley.

"That's crazy," Steele said. "Everybody that's come here, I've told them the same thing: If you want to be part of this program, you have to be a resident and a student of this school district."

The WPIAL has agreed to review the matter.

ok. First he's a Holtzman. Second thing is, u have to be at least good to get recruited. He didn't even start as a junior at mckeesport. Nor did he get a lot of playing time. Terrible accusations by a mother.
