I want to say thank you to the Board Members that made the decision to remove Ward. How stupid can you possibly be to lose a Head Coaching position at Mckeesport. James you should of stayed home with your family instead of hanging out at Bootsies

How can this be, he was the best coach ever, he was going to win coach of the year for the next 10 years. I'm not sure what to do with my life now that I can't defend Ward. Coach Ward I love you and want to be with you, I'm moving to rostraver. Lol

You jumped right to the conclusion? I assume from your posting the MASD board vacated the position?

If what you say is true, I think being beleagured by the coverup of the Cornell School sex scandal was a good head slap!

Best of luck to McKeesport, the board did the right thing pushing him out. I only wish they fired him instead of letting him resign, now some other school will likely get stuck with this idiot in a few years when things blow over. He's not a good human being, let alone coach.

I'm sure McKeesport Tiger's worst days are behind them now. With the right coach, they may even make some noise next year but the bad techniques Ward teaches wont be unlearned overnight.

Don't expect much next year. He left the program in shambles. Just look at the JV's this year.

I was just going by Ward's excuse in the paper that he played a lot of young kids and 18 starters were coming back. If those kids are experienced and capable with the right coaching, maybe they can have a nice year.

High school notebook: Ward resigns as McKeesport football coach
By Kevin Gorman

Published: Thursday, December 6, 2012, 11:12 a.m.
Jim Ward resigned today as McKeesport football coach, citing “personal reasons.”
McKeesport was 19-11 in Ward’s three seasons, including a 15-5 record in conference play. The Tigers won the Quad South title in 2010, when they went 8-2 overall, 6-0 in conference play and Ward was named Quad South coach of the year.
The Tigers were 6-4 in 2011 and 5-5 this past season, when they finished third in the Quad East. McKeesport lost in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs all three years.
Ward succeeded George Smith, who won 197 games and two WPIAL and PIAA Class AAAA championships in 28 seasons. McKeesport has the second-lowest enrollment of WPIAL Quad-A schools, with 515 boys in grades 9-11, according to the PIAA.
Ward met with the team this morning to inform the Tigers players of his decision to resign.
“I just felt this was the right time, early enough for McKeesport to seek a quality candidate,” Ward said.“It’s a great group of kids coming back. Eighteen starters are returning. We played a lot of young kids this past season. They should be ready for great success, and I wish them all well.”

We must commend former Coach Ward for resigning when he recognized a hopeless situation developing and constricting his era.

Coach Ward exhibited character, courage, integrity and manned up to a brewing typhoon. He resigned with his head held high.

Now contrast this to the Cornell School sex scandal five educators who were protected and covered up by the MASD board, administrators, union, and elected officials. What a contrast among public and MASD employees.

The community should construct a Renzie Park monument to recognize these virtues of former Coach Ward. There is a place next to the Mayor of the Year monuments.

IS it possible that these officials were all part of the child/sex/ring in McKeesport? If so, they really needed to cover things up. Good elected officials would want the truth exposed, if for no reason, so that this type of scandal never happens again. By covering up these types of scandals only makes the child/sex/drug ring more cautious in the future and perhaps more harmful to the victims.

Does anyone remember when Primo the mafia don from Glassport would send his prostitutes up to the McKeesport jail to give BJs to the McKeesport Police?

Nice grasp at straws. Your boy exhibited lack of character and it caught up to him.

He quit because he disgraced his position. He disgraced his family. He disgraced himself.

Spin it if you can, it's not working.

It just seems that some who were linked to the late Dr. Risha just cannot get a break. The dark cloud seems to hang over them and will not disperse.

How long will this curse of association continue to spread? I heard on the street that the Imbrogno federal case was rescheduled to January.

You could be correct. Many more have to be investigation. Ralph is starting to open up. Seems like plenty of people went to the feds with additional information.

Next will be announcements possibly even arrests right before Christmas. It sends a chilling message to all, and to all a good night.
