2012 Homicides Drop In Pittsburgh, Rise In Suburbs

Jan 1, 2013 Full story: CBS Local 11

With 96 homicides in all, it was a year somewhat on par with others in Allegheny County, but what's changed is that the deadly toll is moving out of the City of Pittsburgh and into the suburbs.

The intention of the report was to indicate a rise in the suburbs. The drug dealers know McKeesport is weak on drug dealers. They probably figured out from bar talk and contacts.

Even if that wasn't the case, what is? The report indicates a rise in crime in Pittsburgh suburbs.

The country has been moving public housing residents from the old city projects that were torn down into the burbs to spread the death around. Thank Judge Sanders....
In the burgs just outside the city things are getting worse. A couple of years ago Bellevue had its first drive by shooting and Avalon police have conducted drug raids. My mother lives across the street from a guy whose been arrested for dealing marijuana.
Its why people are fleeing the country for place like Cranberry another places outside the country.
When you see payday loan businesses, dollar stores, cell phone stores and abandoned houses that are torn down and replaced with grass lots that look like East Libery or Manchester, its time to get out before before the county ends up like Moonbat meccas like Detroit. The only decent areas left will be gentrified areas inhabited by limosine liberals, many living in gated inclaves.
Anyone staying in the county needs to invest in steel doors, alarm systems and "defensive" tools.

Well said. It will only get worse. The city is giving away its trash to neighboring communities. With that trash comes the maggots. Look for places like Homestead,Munhall, and West Mifflin to get even uglier. The time to beat this was years ago, should have raised taxes. The elderly got to keep their homes back then. However, now they are dying and guess who is taking their place?

That McKeesport guy made a threat on the news, a crime. Also, he invited the shooter and his drugs into his house. The resident claims to be a lifelong resident. He invited the drugs and guns into his house. His fault, and he is just as bad.

If drugs are sold in McKeesport with a turned eye? I think it's the drug sales that are the problem, and its been ignored for too long. After all, it's the entire narcotics unit in McKeesport involved in the pay scam. No reason to trust wayward officers.

About as successful as Tiger Town closing, the bull is getting known.

Many houses in McKeesport heavy un-investigated heavy traffic. It's all drugs and those have been ignored in McKeesport a very long time!

Pittsburgh is now experiencing what many other metros have been seen for many years. The poverty is being pushed out away from the core area into the suburbs, while the core gentrifies.

I agree with you Dr. I moved to Bellevue in 2010 with my then boyfriend now fiance. That drive-by shooting happened right outside my secure building door on Lincoln Ave. That was in 2011 I was pregnant at that time and was catching the bus that day to my appointment. Thank god I was running late because I would been out there waiting for the bus where these fools was shooting and the one crashed his car. I could not believe in a area as this one would there's more white older people, but now I'm starting to see more and more young black people (I'm a 32 yrs old professional black woman) move into this area and usually not up to any good. I'm glad the building we live in carter only to the old and young professionals. We're looking to move soon.

My parents lives in Penn Hills and thank goodness they live in a area where a lot of people can not afford the homes, but my mom no longer get gas at the GetGo on Frankstown Rd because there's always a lot of up to no good people up there. It's sad when you pay all of this money for your home and people on section8 is moving in paying next to nothing and bringing all their criminal activities with them.

The reason this is happening is because these towns are getting paid by the government for section-8. Show me one area where low-income projects have helped the town. What mayor would allow them to be built? I'll tell you, a mayor that could care less about a town, but a lot about his wallet. These areas attract nothing but drug addicts, drug dealers, gang bangers, and gangs of kids up to no good. But you can't do anything about it, because that would be profiling. Even if you film them doing crimes, the liberal judges just let them go. Seems putting people in jail doesn't make money for the state, so why do it? As long as the judges and lawyers get paid, nothing else matters.
So I say, F U Amerika, you wanted this, you got it. Diversity makes a town great! Doesn't it? I'm at the point that I'm just going to start shooting. When in Rome. Next kid that throws a rock through one of my windows will get a bullet in his face. Seems the only thing kids in these areas understand anymore. I'm tired of the thug BS and I'm an inch from really doing some serious damage. The kind that makes the national news. We need the good people to start to bond together the way the bad people do. If good people stopped seeing anything and stopped calling the cops, we could end this.
