The new school should & needs to go above cornell middle school.Ther are abanded houses there that cause a hazard for our kids.The kids are our main concern here.If the new school goes there we get rid of the abanded houses,make the community look better.
The people who want the school elsewhere is wrong.And as far as relocating it to eden park blvd thats still a safty for the kids.There is traffic there that the kids can get hurt.For the sake of our Kids PLEASE put it above cornell middle school. |

What will go on now that it seems Spando and Donato will not be around to watch our tax dollars? Tedesco as project manager is not a good sign of things to come. I wonder if Christmas came early for the 6 yes votes he got? It will only get worse as time goes on. Remember folks he was on the school board when Cornell was poorly renovated and now he is watching over the building of the new schools. The politics in this district really suck. Thanks Barb ,Dave, and Lori for voting no to Tedesco.

========== It seems common place for politicians today to put the 'wolves' in charge of the 'henhouse'. That's easy to understand when you realize they're all part of the same sneaky 'pack'. Voters need to realize this & start exterminating the 'vermin' thru the voting process. |

Yes it will be a runaway school board without Lori, Dave, and Barb. That is what the people (i.e., teachers union and MDC) wanted and voters were exploited. If 10 people would come to the board with the courage to encourage any of the six to explain why they rejected five lower proposals, things would change quickly. They are very uncomfortable when confronted with facts from many. Simple question Chairman Joe - why does Tedesco need $232,000 upfront and no one else proposed such? With that much of a transaction you should ask for FBI protection for taxpayer’s funds. You should deliver the $232,000 cash for the school district with a FBI escort. The buck stops with the Chairman --- and that is you Joe. You have to take the credit and blame for this give away. Perhaps you will be gifted with an inquiry from some federal agency for Christmas. Merry Christmas and you are wished a productive interview with the authorities. You can start by defining what is too small to S. P. Smith (and the authorities) and why your RFQ did not say that if you are too small you are disqualified. Yes, Christmas arrived early -- Santa is very generous to elected officials who serve without any salary. This is real lucrative six pack! |

Required reading for the MASD Slick Six from our NE friends. Note the untouchables were involved and completed an excellent job. Only the Shadow knows where they will emerge next. Does Wilkes-Barre Area School Board have a monopoly on corruption? After all, their Christmas gifts were just pictures of presidents for their art gallery. I guess the feds did not share their holiday spirit. Bah hum bug! And, a much needed victory for the good guys and gals and taxpayers. Thanks to all the federal officers for a job well done. You restore our faith in goverment and you are true corruption crashers. Culture of Corruption Published: October 9, 2009 Former Pittston Area Superintendent Ross Scarantino is the first defendant sentenced in an ongoing federal corruption probe in Luzerne County. Also facing charges are: Former Pittston Area School Board member Joseph J. Oliveri pleaded guilty to accepting a $1,500 bribe from a district contractor. Former Wilkes-Barre Area School Board President James Height pleaded guilty to accepting a $2,000 bribe from a district contractor. Wilkes-Barre Area School Board member Brian F. Dunn is charged with accepting tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for his influence over hiring and contracting decisions. Wilkes-Barre Area School Board member Frank Pizzella Jr. is charged with brokering a $5,000 bribe from a prospective teacher to a school board member in 2004 before Pizzella joined the board. County jury commissioner and county Housing Authority board member Gerald J. Bonner is charged with passing a bribe of less than $5,000 from an authority contractor to another board member. County Housing Authority board member William Maguire has agreed to plead guilty to accepting a bribe of less than $5,000 from an authority contractor through another board member. Former county contractor Barton J. Weidlich is charged with attempting to intimidate a witness in the corruption probe. Former Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority employee Karen Holly pleaded guilty to stealing $6,300 in authority funds. |

A certain school director's first name should be HIPPOCRITE!!!!!!
|
||||
and the new project managers last name shouldn't be tedesco, now should it! Christmas came early to the slick six. |
||||
I thought our school board was elected to watch out for the tax-payers interest, not pad their pockets and hire their cronnies. |
||||
You are correct. But only the Slick Six are Tedesco friendly. The other three did an excellent job of watching out for us. The three who voted against the Slick Six and Tedesco are Lori, Barb, and Dave. Barb elected not to run again. And, the teachers union and JB's MDC did a job on Dave and Lori, who voted to reduce taxes to help JB's financial crisis. Lori is on the ballot on Tues and any person who agrees with her opposition to PPM rip-off should plunk for Lori. JB and his MDC endorsed two WO candidates over McKeesport’s Lori and Dave. Nice payback for reducing taxes for McKeesport property owners. I am sure that Dave and Lori are endeared to the MDC for shunning two excellent candidates. Can the feds be persuaded to look into the Slick Six going with a non-responsive proposal with an upfront payout of $232,000 and $870,000 higher than the lowest proposal? Only time will tell. |

Grandma: You got me stumped on this one. Kindly give me a little clue. Does their last name end with a vowel? |
