Recently, a drug deal by two people was reported in the newspaper, print non computer version of newspaper - The Daily News. The article was stated to have appeared within The Daily Newspaper. The drug deal was ongoing at Giant Eagle grocery store in Mckeesport on O'Neil Boulevard.

I do not think from shopping there, I find it to be the worst run. One occasion included being overcharged $15.00 and no apology for being over charged $1.00 approximately a carrot in a bunch supposed to be on sale tied together on the refrigerated display!

The manager never apologized, but the refund was promptly issued by the smarter than the manager customer service attendant. A night manager that was not very acute on more than two occasions of similar instances.

The customer service desk is the best part of the store to date. They seem to be far more knowledgeable than the managers (The Mckeesport store namely) which is the saddest for the store. The best customer service manager was Mrs. Patricia Isherwood, whom quite regrettably left long ago.

Bud, another of the best store managers, but the rest are very poor in function and seem not to be very acute as to how to manage a store.

I recall several instances of cashiers fighting with customers, not long after the best long term cashiers were let go for lower paying newer employees. Yes, from the long-term employees that had left, and there were several of them. They seemed to know more than the managers at the Mckeesport store even!

There are several wonderful employees, but the rest have all been replaced by newer employees. Seems the tactics was to issue out lower pay, and by result of the reasons given by the long term employees whom had left signs of very poor management.

One of the better Giant Eagle stores is the West Mifflin Store, very well run and very excellent managed! The West Mifflin store will certainly take care of any and all problems and the managers are some of the best.

Like everything else around here. We usually drive
out of McKeesport to shop. The Giant Eagle on Route 30, even gas is at least a nickel cheaper if you drive 2 or 3 miles away. Local Wal-Mart
just ain't happenin, Eddie explained it best a
year ago when he said it was like visiting a third world country. We drive to Belle Vernon for
Wal-Mart & K-Mart. I've tried to spend my money here where I live but refuse to expose my family to the low life riff raff & the foul language that is part of these welfare parasite's way of life. Gee, that wasn't very politically correct or tolerant of me, was it ? Sorry, sometimes the truth is a bitter pill to swallow.

I agree White Lightning, Mckeesport is more like a Third World Country and Mr. Barton summed up secular beliefs of the United States taking from Europe quite well. Most people in Mckeesport do go elsewhere's to shop to not be around the vulgarity, poor behaviors of people around.

On the praying matter: to pray for someone does not mean they need to be rescued, they deserve the work they do and also in these times need to be more of service. To pray for them to be better at they're job would be more key. If they do not like the job, they may always leave, yeah as told to me if they do not just like the job then why don't they leave? Excellent and worthy question for those who would ask the very same of those whom exist in Mckeesport.

Answer for some of us, we are braver, and courageous. We deal with people like this on a daily basis, but do not have to hand them our hard earned money, that they will be denied.

I'd be more likely to loan someone a luxury car than pray for an easy time for workers that chosen to work there. They too, can work elsewhere's as does Eddie or anyone else with common sense. People paying on houses and have tens of thousands are not likely just move. The same certainly can shop and spend elsewhere's. The people who act like these people do not care, they blend in and are the same. The intelligent people go elsewhere's, and return to home as best they can among all the crazy nowadays drivers.

We will pray they get all they deserve, that is sincere and from the heart. To become healthy Christians, and to work very hard in the place they have chosen.

The Route 30 Giant Eagle and cheaper gas not very far from there are also very intelligent options for where to shop for Mckeesport citizens looking to leave Mckeesport, now like Third World Country.

I will admit, the carpet business and a few others downtown are long time respectable places to buy carpeting, bakery items etc. I have never been to Bub's as Paul mentions is excellent.

The carpeting place has wonderful employees and have made quite a lasting long-term business to date for years in Mckeesport on Fifth Avenue. Too bad most around such places are all decaying. Seems most can thrive are dentist and other professional high paying establishments amid all of the Mckeesport cement falling decay. Even the Social Security building is moving, to become vacant.

God Bless.

That Old Mon Valley Charm
http://www.tubecityonline.com/almanac/archive...

The Giant Eagle in Mckeesport works fairly much like this.

Here is excellent example of the Mon Valley hospitality, especially since some think they are hospitable southerners from below the Mason Dixon Line. Even while some are not, I tend to agree with Jason completely on such matters.

Perhaps working at Giant Eagle in Mckeesport is where they go to behave this way. Perhaps it is "nitpicker" community service with pay. The carriage attendant is probably politer than the cashier, and sad as that may be of Mckeesport, we find it to be all to true.:)

Fresh Nostalgia Today, And We Give Stamps

"Nobody cares about any of this, I'm sure, except for me, but I've found the whole situation that has played out with the supermarkets at Olympia fascinating. Ten or 15 years ago, there were two supermarkets there: Giant Eagle, where Shop 'n Save is opening now, and Scozio's Shop 'n Save, where the Save-a-Lot is now."

Be sure to say "hello" to "Old Man Scozio!"

God Bless.

Excellent business in fact, they have more than most other Giant Eagle stores. They have better customer service overall which is a immense plus.

They have a wonderful bakery also, which Mckeesport does not have at all. They have a wider variety of selections including a wider variety of produce.

It is always clean, and never had a refrigeration problem as the Mckeesport store had for weeks at one time. I have never found an isle full of employees that you could not get around to shop. The managers take care of the customers in White Oak as though they are family members on regular basis.

The Giant Eagle not very far on Route 30 and West Mifflin are also decent. I like the Giant Eagle in West Mifflin because the management is some of the best as compares to other service oriented Giant Eagle stores.

Homestead has had some problems, but the lady that works the cheese area is a all-time specialty of the Homestead Giant Eagle.

The other plus for parents are Giant Eagle in both West Mifflin and Waterfront are the children's Eagle's Nest areas!

Waterfront and West Mifflin feature cafe areas and are always very clean, well serviced for the customers.

Nice to buy chicken, onion rings or French fries which they make to perfection.

You know you love Old Man Scozio Ralph, he loves you and you know that!

They made you a nice fence one time, they didn't desire to lose any of your fine "dollar" business to the Olympia flea market!

Are they still dealing drugs in the parking lot? Who else is involved, anyone from inside the place perhaps. Seems drug dealers feel at most comfort in their element, seems Giant Eagle was place for drugs, as has been usual. Surprised someone was drug busted in Mckeesport, now only to find out who the people busted associates with. Perhaps someone could get them to talk on who and were they get supply from?

I'd look into associates as well, perhaps there is a connection.

If they are miserable, perhaps that is because they do drugs and work there to support a habit.
I'd think some of the ornery cashiers were very deserving to work there, and they shoul;d actually be very thankful having a job in this economy. Not only that, but at least one of them having a history of drugs from a credible source.
If the place is awful, perhaps they should leave or pray themself on the situation. There is a very nice church nearby, perhaps they could attend and pray there about the place being miserable.

Your statement also infers that you know of the place, and perhaps work there yourself. Peas be with you, because if you wont attend the church, you can certainly thank God that you have a job!

who cares who does what if it has no effect on you. does what i eat make you shit? drugs are not going anywhere anytime soon for every person arrested ten more are ready to take the place. the best thing to do is just mind your business and keep yourself or your children away from it. i mean they sell drugs legally inside the eagle for christ sake. anybody can have a doctor write a pyscription for pain pills or anti depressants and allow their health care provider to pay for it. if people wanna destroy their lives let em one less person to get in your way. we got bigger problems to worry about like murder, no matter where you go their will always be drug activity any hood, town, project, city etc. but not every hood has a unsolved murder rate like us and i believe its cause people need to mind there own business, people get arrested all day cause of informants and nosey concerned citizens with nothing better to do but complain, but when some one gets killed over it all lips are sealed no witnesses come forward ever.

That Giant Eagle isn't far from First Free is there a chance that the culprits may be from your congregation Freedom ? Your a real ass this is a review of the giant eagle and you spin it all around accusing people that work there off making drug deals. If you are any indicator of how your church is I would never attend there.
