I'd recommend not ordering or eating at a few places around the White Oak/McKeesport area.

1. Pizza and Gyro Express- When I order over the phone with a credit card and they tell me "they can't do that over the phone", that's a sign of incompetent employees. Also, can you make sure the people working the counter comb their hair and put on a little make up. When I pick up a pizza I don't want "Pizza the Hut" handing over my pie. Are you still getting "free wings for life" and grossly overcharging for them still? Typical....
How can you mess up the same order twice and expect us to pick up the order again, you better come deliver it this time. I personally do not order from there but my loving partner sometimes does, well at least she used to. It's sad when stereotypes are mostly true.

2. Luciano's- Ok, I get it, you had huge bills coming into the new building 10 YEARS AGO!!! Why do the prices always seem to go up but the menus are never changed properly to inform the customers. When I order something and don't like it, how come a manager can't come over and apologize and maybe take it off the bill? FYI, it was an appetizer not a steak, but yet charge me more than the menu price because the waitress said "We changed the price but didn't put it in the menu." Really?!? A ritzy place like that who spends a large amount on painting leaves on the ceiling can't put a piece of tape in the menu and put in the new price. I guess they'll never change though because it seems like the same weirdos have been working there since they were in high school. Get a real job! The pizza and calzones are the only thing worth eating there, only if they don't upcharge you without you knowing.

3. Twin Oak- More like Twin Jokes. It's the same incompetent staff that's been there for years!!! Is there a reason why they think they are holier than thou?? You own a mirror, take a glance. When someone asks how I want my chicken done, there's a problem. And no they didn't mean grilled, blackened or fried, they meant rare, medium, well-done!!! Almost every person who sits at the bar should be opened hand smacked at least a dozen times just for looking the way they do. Do you ever go into a place and think " I bet they were all cool, in high school?" That's that place. I wonder if he's still paying out on those machines because those machines were always PACKED!

Any other suggestions for local places, please post. If you have any comments that make sense, please post. If you are a disgruntled owner or employees of any of these places, you can post but please don't ramble, you'll sound unprofessional and it would be difficult to take you and your business any less serious than most people around here do already.

veltres thinks their the lamont, expensive over rated stoner food.
lamperts deli got the weakest tv dinner style food at 4 star prices.
luccis got the best white pizza thats it though, they got the worst red sauce ever. how can you be a italian resturant and have terrible spagetti, at least use some ragu.
tillies got the best red sauce this side of the atlantic ocean, the only problem is the place reminds me of a truely haunted house.
rodos is one of the best food places around, that lamb burger is like a taste explosion.
pizza and gyro express all round garbage, ugly pizza and ugly workers.
mama peppinos is a no brainer, if you want to play a machine or get a rico case come here, but dont eat the food.
china jade is good as long as you order all white meat, and no msg.
broadway pizza thinks every other order is a prank call so they basically only deliver every other order.

Worst counter service in town has to be Micky Dee's in Versailles.

Everyone is very occupied but I cannot get an extra creamer.

Pizza and Gyro down by the Giant Priced Eagle grocery store: want food that taste like crap that's the place. The machines, payouts are suspected to be given on them. Payouts are highly suspect of the Mama Papinos close by to Pizza Gyro.

Workers don't care what they look like because they are allowed.

Broadway Pizza, ok ok this one is owned by the chief of police in McKeesport. No machines? Do they refuse every other phoned in order?

Get it correct? Does the chief own it or his wife?

The chief is smart and careful. There is nothing illegal about him owning Broadway, buy I doubt he does. His spouse did contribute to the mayor's campaign fund.

He is an excellent chief doing his best under a school teacher mayor who has a tendency to try to practice law enforcement without the knowledge and meddles in police affairs.

You are on the chief falsely for owning the pizza shop, when you should be trying to learn who are the new owners of Benitos?

Rodos has excellent food but the cash only and byob has turned my business away more than a few times. I really hope to see them expand because I am a big fan.

Luchinos has a great white pizza and calzones. Ate in house one time and was not at all impressed. May have been a off night but am not willing to take the risk of a second chance.

I like their fish at Hoots and the waitresses are energetic and kind.

I like the salads at Twin Oaks and the waitresses are good looking and polite.

However, my wife and I do not enjoy the spill over smoking from their bar section. No too bad at Twin Oaks because the eating area is shielded from the smoky bar

However, it is very difficult at Hoots because it drifts into the small eating area.

Therefore, my wife and I go to the Carriage Inn where they have a well sealed off smoke den. The food is good and the waitress are kind and attentive.

Hoots is one of my favorite places for take out, what they lack in building space they more than make up for in food portions.
The retreat does have the best wings. Just a bad rep.

The new Di's corner stone is a rip off.. I ordered the half a chicken meal with 2 sides and corn bread for 12 dollars.. corn bread is 3.50 for a side on the menu.. I told them for my 2 sides I want both of them to be corn bread plus the side of corn bread it already came with.. so they gave me 3 tiny slices of corn bread and that means they are 3.50 for 1 tiny slice a piece.. I was super angry I'm never going there again!!!!! Chicken was average like kfc I'd say.

i was at Di's on Friday morning getting breakfast and got small portions of everything, plus my coffee and orange juice came to 12 bucks......12 bucks for breakfast? the toast was cold, the sausage links were undercooked and the sunny side up eggs were all slimy. there was even a dead stink bug in one of the egg yokes . even the coffee was cold and waited 10 mins for a refill... last time i go there.stay away from this place .

I have no complaints with Di's although I have only ate breakfast there. Cant beat it. Usually $6.25 for a good breakfast with a coffee and juice. You most likely had a bad experience because your breath smells and your belly hangs to the floor.

What kind of slob eats 3 sides of cornbread anyways? I bet you got a big ol fat stinky gut! Bet you got a custom modified belt to hold your belly up off the floor. Bet they over charged you because they assumed you would clog the toilet up after you ate.
