Two Sets of Rules Around Here

This is something that caught my eye in that rag impersonating the once proud Daily News.
"Having 11 board members defied council's 2005 ordinance that established a seven-member board to run the center, Cherepko said. Hadzima was one of four subsequently appointed without council's approval.
Of the 11 committee members, Cherepko recommended that council retain Harry Walsh, Bill Soles, Joeanne Kushner and Eleanor Nogales. Seven would be removed and replaced with Dee Connor, Bill Richards, Gene Cherepko, Eleanor Gonzales, Nancy Haughey, Jack Walsh and Ralph Whitney.
The new committee was approved in a 6-0-1 vote, with Councilman Keith Soles abstaining because his father is on the committee."
Let us disregard the obvious nepotism of the selections. I will leave that to subsequent posters.
The Mayor said Council's 2005 ordinance of a 7 member board was defied by the appointment of 11 members to the previous board. He then preceded to endorse 11 people to the new board, all of whom Council approved. So when he and this council defy the ordinance of a previous Council, he sees no problem with it.
Obviously there is one set of rules for average citizens in Mckeesport, and another for the ruling class.

Brewster student mayor has no respect for the law. He does what he wants and all the law enforcement authorities look the other way.
Every time he get away with it, it emboldens him. It started with the DA , AG, and MPD doing absolutely nothing with Cornell sex scandal when the student mayor and his future spouse guarded the door when strange sounds were coming from the room.
And, the Porkster runs and owns the City and the MPD as evidenced by his intercepted communcations by the AG.
Obviously there is no hope in sight because the law authorities for unknown reasons let the student mayor operate above all laws.
All drug enforcement in the city is tag along with some other municipalities' enforcement agency -- the City never originated a drug bust for ages. Why not? I guess all those city shooting are over sports betting?

The Porkster has nothing to do with the Mayor's plot or plans now, he's useless to Mike now Mr. Harry Walsh is now the new money man for the city why else do you think the Mayor is pushing Walsh for the council check writer, the board for seniors and God only knows what else he's on. There is RAD money with the Senior center, now he has his hands in that pot. Seniors center is the only place left to get monies from, he's almost bankrupt the Sewage and Housing Authorities. Maybe if he didn't hire his whole family and people that contribute to the cover ups throughout the city McKeesport would be this bad. Thank you Mr. Senator for endorsing him!

False! Cherepko is the good guy! Flushing all the old crooks like Segina! When he was public works director he used to vacation at the garbage haulers condo! He operated a store in town while on clock for Lou, owned with Donato! He was robbing seniors with his buddy Dean from eliz twp!!!! Cherepko cleaned out the crooks!
#5 Feb 7, 2014
Yea, Brewster's student mayor flushed out all crooks except those who contributed to his political campaigns.
How about the public works employee who failed to deposit monies for over 10 scraped city vehicles and other scrap materials? The money has never be found and the person is protected and reward by Brewsters student mayor.
The same mayor friend and public works employees also ran an illicit tire business selling tires to city employees. Even a favorite vendor who contributed to the student mayors political fund (i.e.,$1000) was part of the illicit enterprise and sold city tires.
The student mayor should find out who paid for these tires. Could city money have been used to pay for these tires?
The mayor flushed out the bad guys. Like flushing out the PW employee with a $25,000 incentive after his department was the target of a Federal Grand Jury subpoena and he was going to retire anyway.
What a miscarriage of justice! And, none of the law enforcement agencies seem interested in spite of the fact that City money is missing.

Comply with the wishes of the Machine. Bunch of whiney beyotches.

Cherepko is a coward! He is destroying this City. What kind of person terrorizes hard working families with a Gestapo Police Dept. He has proven time and time again, he will continue to do the wrong thing and avoid responsibility.
We have copies of a number of documents that you and your criminal attorney Elash have shredded. It is slowing crashing down around you. The Feds are here. The truth of your illegal, immoral empire is coming out. You are supposed to protect families, not destroy them. People are tired of hearing the racist comments out of your father, also. No matter how much you try and keep the truth you in the dark, it is all going to come to light, and your true colors will show!!! We are not afraid of you and your bullies...

New ordinance abolished the previous board of seven and legally created a new board of 11. All were asked to stay, those who wanted to are on the new board. Mr. Segina had informed the old board that he was unilaterally extending his term and that no events would be at Palisades anymore. Also that valentines lunch was now at the center and closed to all but who he chose. Mayor tried to intervene when other board members came in crying about being bullied by Darryl. Mayor took high road and simply tried to correct and move on. So please just move on or the truth will come out! Not trying to embarrass anyone, just to do the right thing. Mike is a good person, men shouldn't swear around women, or spit on the floor for others to clean. Mike did what was right.

We are relieved to know that Born Again Clean and Born Again High Roader came to the rescue of the Renzie Senior Center abused membership out of the residue of the notorious MASD Cornell School sex scandal.

Do you ever notice the type of caliber of people that get elected to office today ? I mean 30-40 years ago, you actually had to have some common sense and how to run a town. These idiots purchase "vote for me" signs and clutter up the neighborhood with their trash, and hope enough morons vote for them. This truly amazes me.
They have no clue how to run a town.
I mean take most of the towns in the Mon Valley, they are all about to go bankrupt.
I see in the Daily Snooze today that McKeesport is 38 million in debt with a 6 million surplus? Was that a misprint in the paper?
I mean really???
Didn't the folks just build 2 new schools? Didn't they?
Are the pupils grades improving?
And still your school kids are almost last on the intelligence level in the state of Pa.
I'm missing something here..........
People cant be this dumb, they just cant !
#11 Feb 20, 2014
People aren't that dumb, just you are
#12 Feb 20, 2014
Let attempt to sort out some of your statements for clarity, accuracy, etc.
First it is MASD and not the City that is $38 M in debt and it most likely will be increasing. Yes they built essentially two new schools. However, there is a third building program call the Sixth Grade Academy starting next to Founders Hall. I would assume this will add to the debt. Most likely the debt will increase some. Remember the state reimburses. MASM a substantial amount of the building costs.
Why are you surprised by the MASAD $6 M cash balance or surplus at the end of the year? This is historic and I remember Mr. Donator stating that repeatedly. He lobbied for a reduction in property tax. Due to the extensive building program, only partially justified, this cash surplus has been reduced somewhat this year.
Never the less, in spite of being grossly over staffed in MASD administration and somewhat over staffing on the education side, MASD is solid financially. One reason is the increase in assessments, increase in EIT and decrease in students. I would guess we are close to 3800 student these days and PROPEL is talking about a high school which is much need competition for our teachers. MASD board and teachers abhor PROPEL competition. And of course they are opposed to unconditional vouchers.
You are right about the skills of City elected officials. Remember they are hand picked by the MDC Chairman and State Senator. How qualified are a 5 grade teacher and a 2X DUI / deputy mayor to run a $19 M enterprise? Then the student mayor hires a business administrator and community development director with no experience and he gives them both significant increases. Yes, you detected this but give the Senator credit for this. He make it happen and let it happen.
The MDC Chair endorsed Mr. Carr and he is under AG state indictment. The MDC Chair should be held responsibly for ANY THING IN OR TO THE CITY that happens.
We have two councilpersons delinquent on property taxes. We have a 2X DUI solicitor delinquent on property and income taxes and owes the IRS a bundle. We have two former MPD officers indicted by the AG. All endorsed or promoted by the former mayor/MDC Chair.
We have the indicted Porkster on the City Recreation Committee and the Senator does not recall who and when he was appointed. The Porkster does not even live in the City.
The Palisade has not had an audit for years and the student mayor wants to keep it that way. They neglected to file a required IRS Form 990 and pay employees under the table. But they are the untouchables so the IRS does not investigate.
And, the feds subpoenaed records on trash, tires, scrap, and scraped vehicles. And, the state AG subpoenaed records on mechanical device license fees.
Yes, you got it dumb right there is a lot to be concerned about but no one cares in the Port or they believe the elected officials fairy tales that we are bringing it back.
Yes we are that stupid or sickly complacent.

Ray you lost. Get over it
#15 Feb 22, 2014
It was the city that lost when the former controller lost. If he had stayed a Democrat, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Now we have a fox watching the hen house.
#16 Feb 22, 2014
So even you admit he wa is a moron
#17 Feb 22, 2014
Some say he was a high school drop out. Others say he failed his GED after three tries.
Could that qualify him for a first class moron or just a city controller?
#18 Feb 24, 2014
For my pothole damage. I don't care if you got 22k in the bank.. you better make it 21, 500 because you OWE ME BIG TIME CHICO!!!
I blew out both tires and killed my car in your lovely town.. I also worked there when i lived there for 10 years so some of that cash is mine.
Better respond to my tort claims!
#19 Feb 24, 2014
I knocked out one tire and a rim. I was told by someone knowledgeable that the City is immune from these kind of claims, in general.
I hope I got misinformation. Let us know how you do with your claim.
