A McKeesport man was charged Thursday in the Feb. 23 shooting death of a former Monessen resident.
Tyrone "Blicky" Leonard, 21, was arrested 12:30 a.m. Thursday for the Feb. 23 murder of Arron Crable, according to Allegheny County police Sgt. Scott Scherer. Police said Leonard was arrested at the Retreat Bar in McKeesport.
Allegheny County homicide detective Sgt. Scott Scherer said McKeesport plain clothes police officers who work door security at the bar knew Leonard to be a regular weekly visitor to the establishment for "wing night."
Scherer said that when Leonard arrived early on Thursday, police "patted him down and immediately slapped the cuffs on him."
Leonard was charged with criminal homicide, criminal attempt-homicide, aggravated assault, persons not to possess a firearm and recklessly endangering another person.
Crable, 23, a Clairton resident and Monessen High School graduate, was shot at 2:05 a.m. in the parking lot of the HiView Gardens apartment complex off Coursin Street in McKeesport. He was taken to UPMC McKeesport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:32 a.m.
An unidentified female shooting victim was treated at the McKeesport hospital and transferred to a trauma center in Pittsburgh. Her identity and condition have not been released.
McKeesport police Chief Bryan J. Washowich said, "We're fortunate that information was developed that led to his arrest."
Leonard faces a preliminary hearing 2:30 p.m. March 14 before the Magisterial District President Judge Donna Jo McDaniel in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
