You seem to be deflecting the education short comings to the Coach. His scope of authority and responsibility is the football sport and character building.

You complaint on education, which I totally, agree with should be directed at the MASD school board.

Unfortunately, we the people, elected former teachers and city employees to the school board who all may have other ulterior motives or allegiances. The unions and political machine control the MASD board. So do not try to guilt trip the football program.

The blame is on those machine puppets that foolishly voted for the union and machine supported candidates. This same machine controlled board that screwed up the football program for at least three years.

Yes Coach Smith is here to teach football and build character in his students, Agreed.

The teachers are here to teach the subject matter BUT the parents have a responsibility too. Seeing that your children do their homework, eat & sleep properly, read and read some more!!!!

What is better than having former teachers, 35 years of dedicated service to MASD, on the school board? Who do you think is in a better position to make determinations about our educational system? Seems if the policemen, administrative city employees and people that are out to make a name for themselves would let the teachers make the educational decisions our district would be in a lot better shape, but of course that makes too much sense, you know EDUCATION AND TEACHER!!!!

Everyone knows the hiring of Coach Ward was spearheaded by a former board member(former Coach Smith player) and a Pat Risha flunky. Don't blame a teacher for that mess!

Curiosity Question: Who was president of the Teacher's Union when the Cornell Sex Scandal was covered up? Does anyone recall?

I recall that MASD Board President was Kathy Richie.

Ms. D. settlement will NOT impact road paving. Road paving is a City budget line item not a MASD responsibility.

I hope that Ms. D. lawyers as part of the settlement make the MASD school board present the check at a public school board meeting or a special public ceremony. Bring back Ms. Kathy Richie and all former board members who voted to fire her to present the check she made possible.

Yeah okay have Ms. D go to a public school board meeting or a special public ceremony to present her a check. Do you want your child taught by her? I don't. Pat Collins did the right thing by retiring. I don't know what happened with anyone else and all of you who act like you do are speculating. What difference does it make who was MASD president or union president. There is only so much your union can do. Teachers are supposed to be mentors to our children. Character, morals, ethics, integrity aren't just words to be taught but an example of a life with values that our citizens expect all teachers to live by.

I would really like to know why it took 8 years to get a decision !!!

You presented the teaching time parameter very well. The teachers' conduct laws should apply to all the teachers in the Commonwealth equally. Where in the law does it say that if you have 33 years you can be rewarded and run, but if you have 12 years you are fired?

But it appears that perhaps inadvertently the MASD and City power brokers decided to use the years of teaching seniority as a judgment tool in their convoluted logic.

PC had the time to retire so they gift him over $50 grand. AD does not have the years to retire so they fire her.

Why would any think that in a fair and unbiased judicial system that the Appeals Court would not rule in Ms. D favor.

The BIG QUESTION is who and why did the MASD and City power brokers persuaded the MASD school board into such a foolish and unfair decision to fire Ms. D and reward PC. Could it be that Ms. D was never the president of the teachers union?????

AD was offered to leave with her teaching credentials intact. She declined. Anyone that thinks parents would allow their child to be taught by her the following year(s) are not thinking rationally. Yes it was sex and these two couldn't wait until they left the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL they were working at. Sounds like sex maniacs to me! I don't care if my child is taught by a gay teacher. I want my child taught by someone that is a good person and a positive role model to our students and district. AD may have been a great teacher but her credibility as one was irreparably harmed by her own doing.

two people screwing in a clasroom when NO children are present is not a danger to kids... get a life! i dont care if they had sex in the school parking lot, in the cafeteria, in the gym, in the locker rooms. ect.. the courts have no problem with this, why should you?
They awarded her 8 years back pay and a job at mckeesport IF she wants it... what dont you get? She would be foolish not to take it, that 8 years that she was off will give her over 20 years as a teacher...if she teaches anywhere else she starts from square one... its a no brainer....if she doe come back to mck to teach and you have a kid in her room...take her out of that situation and go to another school. it's not like she's going to rape a 10 year boy.....get a life !

You mean Risha offered her that ,right? Cause thats who did! positive role model, she was to her kids, no one disputes that....so i guess if they screwed in a near by hotel, you'd still have a problem with that? Or if they screwed out on the football field ? How about the hood of a car in the parking lot? What if they screwed in each other's homes? See how stupid you sound with your post?

I have no problem if they went to each others houses, to a hotel, to their cars, to the woods somewhere. I don't care !!!

I'll be damned if I'll move my child to another school and if you don't think 10 and 11 year old boys would be talking about her you're an idiot!!!

I didn't say she was a danger to kids. Teachers have to have their students respect.

I have a life, a very good one thank you very much.

Why? Cause she screwed a married man.? LOL! Wonder how many teachers cheat on their spouses that are teachers?..Wait ! We dont know ,it's not in the news !
If it doesnt make the news we have no idea ,do we, so it cant be true if it's not advertised. Lame !
Maybe it's the fact that she banged some guy while in school with no kids present, is that it? Bad excuse on your part..

Why the lookouts if no kids were in school?? The Pennsylvania Public School Code defines immorality section 237.3:
Immorality is conduct which offends the morals of the Commonwealth and is a bad example to the youth whose ideals a professional educator or charter school staff member has a duty to foster and elevate.
You never answer how she will get respect from the children in our district again!! Just point fingers!!

The look outs were there for any teachers or administrators that might have been lurking around in the building afters hours and also the janitors that worked 3-11. Why arent you against the sickos that were there to watch ( aka lookouts )? Why werent they fired? your one lookout is a pervert who now has a nice job with the town and being paid with tax dollars, surely he doesnt deserve to be around kids does he? Or for that matter be a great role model for the kids? If all involved were fired the final senerio would have been different. You cant have it both ways

The kids would respect her if the parents didnt bad mouth her, right? Try explaining to an 11 year old what went on that got her fired, but include that fact the courts ruled in her favor and awarded her with 8 years back pay, because she was fired illegally....
makes sense ,huh?
