Can we join with a march against the DUI solicitor who may be freed on Monday? Who also happens to be the worst scofflaw in the history of the Port.
The mayor and senator are welcome to lead the march and it should end at the IV festival on Aug 12 with a fireworks celebration.
Councilman KS should be the MOC who made the solicitor a Mon Valley legend.

With politicians and employees lining their pockets and paid-off cops, it looks pretty good. For them.
#68 Nov 17, 2013
It will be very difficult for anyone to line pockets when the tax base is depleted.
Right now, McKeesport is in danger of wasting the surplus. If they line pockets without government money on the way, McKeesport will be over.
The money HUD gave to the McKeesport police for video cameras needs to be investigated. I suspect some will end up mysteriously missing. McKeesport Pay Scam, officer entering a house illegally, police involved in illegal gambling are red flags. No one in McKeesport cannot trust police hired to protect and serve still on the job.
The surplus may be gone quite soon if the storms coming are as terrible as predicted. McKeesport cannot upkeep the roads, traffic signs and lights on a drive through.

By the end of 2010, less than 20,000 would remain. Of those, a little over 18% of families and 23% of the population live below the poverty line, including 36% of those under the age of 18.
No jobs are left in McKeesport. 99% of the residents take buses to work, McKeesport is loaded with abandoned houses.

Really so sad. Hating each other doesn't solve anything. McKeesport use to be such a great place long ago. Wonderful growing up there. Instead of the slurs and so much hate, why not try to think of how to make McKeesport a better and safer place to live again for your families.
#72 Nov 21, 2013
You have the "right stuff" but to make the city better and safer some on Topix are indirectly trying to define the problems by exposing misdoings and complaining. All these have merit and are noteworthy.
The effective approach should be to define the problems! Any suggestions on what the problems are Tony? Section 8 is not an answer. What is your problem take on the state of the City?
#73 Nov 21, 2013
bring back the poker machines/cherry machines/ slot machines and let the state/town get a piece of the pie. what i dont get is people are mostly drinking alcohol beverages anyway while playing these machines in bars/social clubs, etc and paying a drink tax, well.....they can pay tax on their winnings as well......
more money for the state and towns to try to make ends met .just dont have politicians involved in counting the money to divide up!!!!!!
that's where yor corruption starts! LOL!
I thought the river casino money was suppose to help pay my taxes also, hows that working out?

Man shot outside McKeesport bar
November 28, 2013 12:02 PM
By Moriah Balingit / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
A 22-year-old man from Rankin was shot early this morning outside of a McKeesport bar.
Capt. Tim Hanna of the McKeesport police said the shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m. at Bubba's Bar on Ringold Avenue. The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Pittsburgh. Capt. Hanna did not know his condition.
McKeesport police turned over the investigation to Allegheny County homicide detectives, who could not be reached for immediate comment.

When I was young in the 60's I loved McKeesport. I moved here for medical reasons 2 years ago. Now I'm leaving and I will not look back. McKeesport is like East Berlin was. All the racism, black and white, all the shootings, my Lord this place is definitely Hell. This town will never recover.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.
#77 Dec 1, 2013
As I see it it's a self fixing problem. The police should take all of these so called gangsters and teach them how to shoot properly then supply them with match ammo and good guns so they can exterminate themselves.
#78 Dec 1, 2013
Every taxpayer is part of the solution. We pay for public safety and the Mayor and his Solicitor to provide the leadership and all those feel good words on their public slogan signs.
Are we part of the problem because we do not pay enough taxes? May be the mayor can contribute to the MPD that political gift of some $4800 from the Mr. Porkster. The solicitor could free up some of that $15,000 raise and give it to the police chief who also earned or deserves a raise. He is in harms way every day more than the solicitor.
Give the police and fire chiefs raises too Mayor Cherepko. They are our public safety officers. They earned it more then your friend the solicitor and they have no DUIs.

I cant remember the last time I attended a meeting when they were less than a dozen people at meetings to voice their concern and demand answers from council members and the mayor.
The city tax payers are responsible to call out the responsibilities of our elected officials. If you think they will retaliate against anyone then they win and the tax payers lose. You have to watch your back but then again form a group and stick together and watch each others back.
As long as the cowards and spineless tax payers dont demand answers then it's on you and not the people that are in charge of spending tax payer money. Dont blame how your money is being spent by the politicians, blame the tax payer for letting this happen.
If you go on other websites topix forums including Glassport, Port Vue,Liberty Boro,Munhall, West Mifflin,Dravosburg,Homestead, etc. It's a real joke.
Ever noticed it's the same complaining about basically the samething ? Corrupt cops, council and school board members, mayors and wasteful spending. Why is that you might ask?
The answer should be right in front of your face.
No participation at meetings and the tax payers hardly ever attend meetings to hold the politicians feet to the fire.
I've said it over and over and over. But people would rather post their garbage in here ( true or not ) thinking it solves all lifes problems and nothing gets accomplished in here.
Your elected officials laugh at these topix websites. They truly do...
But keep posting in here ,I need a laugh when I visit this gossip garbage dump. It's better than the comic section of the newspaper.
