Any one may encounter a few barriers, setbacks, and road bumps in their career, business, or professional journey. We all experience such over our lengthy careers.

I think that he has the wisdom, contacts, enthusiasm, and where with all to rebound from some difficult encounters not always of his own making.

I hope that all works out for him and his family in his alternate pursuits. McKee Point can be a profit center if one finds the right marking niche.. He is trying to develop such.

We should not forget that he orchestrated making the concert series a weekly event at no additional cost or risk to the city.

We thank him, his Lions club, and staff for the free and frequent Sunday evening entertainment. My family and I really enjoy the concerts.

I hope the adjudication of your legal woes is less severe than the AG punished the person who Mr. Melocchi proclaimed was dumber than a box of rocks.

Why is it that Topix folks lament the lack of businesses in the city, yet cheer from the rooftops when a business fails?

The difference between Dan's failed small restaurant/bar and others that are operating in the black in the Mon Valley is that they have poker machines available for their patrons. It's the only way many continue to stay afloat.

Why isn't Gergley in the crosshairs? Seems to me that is where the bulk of the disgust and outrage should be.

We do not know what legal or prosecuting trajectory that AG Kathleen Kane's deputies are ?

It could be that the Mr. Melocchi, Mr. Carr, and Mr. Holtzman will receive lesser punishment than Mr. Kowalski who was essentially acquitted. We welcome that because the City needs more businesses to return and these are outstanding citizens who contributed to the community in many quiet ways.

It appears that over a million dollars of cold cash that was seized quietly sublimed into legally invisible gaseous matter?

Oh bullshit. Dan Carr is a buddy. You don't hear about the businesses that tried to open in town because (1) the city wants a donation to the Widows and Orphans Fund (2) if you're not a buddy you can't get the available money that's there to help you stay in the black in the Mon Valley and (3) if you're not a buddy, they'll make you spend a pile of money coming up to strict codes that don't apply to the buddies.

Who said Gergley isn't in the crosshairs?

How many of you people have taken the survey, on the city of McKeesport's website? My guess- ZERO.

Everyone on Topix likes to hide behind their keyboard, and complain, and complain, and complain. You are preaching to the choir. If you have all of the answers- share them with the right people. How many of you people vote come election day?

Seriously, if you want to do some good, you can't do it on this site. Misery likes company. It would behoove you to take the survey, share your ideas,- OR write/call the mayor.

Eddie, every time you show up, you're more clueless than the last time. "I" worked my way through the survey, and it's one lame-ass survey with the same stupid questions you see in all these kinds of things. When you get to the end, they ask for your name, address, phone number, and whether you want to get involved.
They're kidding, right? Everything you can possibly think of to turn this town around has been suggested to how many administrations over the years since the mill closed. If you really lived here all your life, you'd see people sit on all these commissions year in and out, and discover only the most loyal buddies stick around for some crumb. Or maybe leave when they figure out they're getting screwed.
City Hall knows me. They know a lot of people who got in their way of keeping things just the way they are until the federal money completely stops. Like in Braddock, back when. Then they'll take their retirement and just go away. Just like in Braddock, back when. When city hall got tired of Paul Shelly, they did something, didn't they? If you think they wouldn't do worse, they have.
This survey, despite what they say in the Snooze, is either state or federally mandated. Meaning they have to do this every ten years. So they got money for it, they're doing it, and little to nothing will be done with it.
If you don't like the posts here, for crissakes, don't come here. I'm one of those posters who think that anonymous posts, and people who anonymously contact authorities about the city shenanigans win in the end, because you never know who's reading these posts.

T-Maker,

No pal, I'm with it. The truly clueless hide behind their keyboard, and dream of yesteryear. Get out of the past man. Talking about the mills closing, etc... That's been what? 30 years?

I am just tired of you people complaining all of the time. This is why all of the good people have left this site and become throw-backs. What I am saying, is everyone has all of the answers, their conspiracy theories, talks about investigations going on (like they really know) Call the mayor man, call council, go to a council meeting, go to a school board meeting - run for office. Do it your way if you win. You're not getting the votes here.

Does someone really want to know why the Viking closed? Call Dan Carr. What kind of answers are you going to get here? Some uneducated/immature folks talking about what their sister does, etc... Come on man.

All I was saying - go back and read my post - is that city hall DOESN'T LISTEN. And they haven't for decades. That's not living in the past, that's knowing from experience that going to city hall doesn't change anything. Did you read the part about Paul Shelly? You do know he tried to run for mayor. Go ahead, run for office yourself and see what happens to people who don't want to play by city hall rules.
Ask Dan Carr? That's funny. See if he tells you he's up to his blue eyes in debt.

Thanks for the compliment, but your speed reading skills are rusty.

I didn't write that an old mayor did anything to me. The elected officials aren't as much problems as the city hall paper pushers who aren't worried about losing their jobs in two or four years.

I'm not stuck in the past, city hall is. They're the living definition of hell: doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
