It is a matter of public record where Jamie lives and works. Has lived in Haler Heights for years. If she is going thru a separation of any sort right now (why would that be yours or anyone else's business?) it won't negate the fact of where she has worked and paid taxes for well over 15 years.
I am all for transparency and disclosure for public offices, but you morons who post this crap need to at least check SOME of your facts before you do so.
Legal address and where somebody beds down for the night on a regular basis (that includes the Fifth Beatle)is two different things.

Leave it to the Machine to criticize the people who try to cut through the city bull$h!t.

Not sure that is true. The controller candidate does not bed down at his home near Freemont Street but uses the boarded up home for his voting address and city office candidacy. How can he be a constable for the district and sleep in N. Huntington?

This is interesting if true. May be he uses the Senior Center as his City address?

Actually, I am NOT part of the "machine" that you so paranoid-ingly always resort to calling people when they disagree with you.....

What I am is the average citizen who is tired of name-calling and 5th grade antics on both sides.

And yes, I agree -- "Legal address and where somebody beds down for the night on a regular basis is two different things." is spot on. They ARE two different things:

The legal address is where the person pays taxes to, gets mail etc. and it is material to the conversation. In other words, it MATTERS.

Where someone may or may not sleep, with whom, etc on the other hand, is no one's business, not even yours.

SO, is Jamie Filoti's legal address Mckeesport or elsewhere? THAT is relative to the conversation and important to the decision of whether she is able to serve.

You accuse people in "the machine" of muckraking, etc.....what are YOU doing in this thread? For someone who is so "anti machine" you sure do love using the same plays from the same playbook. If it were the "machine" accusing YOUR candidate of the same thing you would be spooging all over yourself accusing them of foul play and "typical machine tactics".

It goes both ways.

Sort of like South Park.

Another way to look at this is: There are not exactly tons of great candidates running for public office in McKeesport.

You hate the ones running?

Just so I'm clear:

There have been long-time employees and elected or appointed people at city hall who use Mom's address or some other relative's address as the "legal" address to satisfy some requirement. PennDot doesn't ask if you pay taxes on the property's address on the license, no taxing authority asks if you're running for political office, and the utility companies only ask if you own or rent.

When I wrote "beds down" or "lay their head at night" I meant SLEEP. Your 5th grade mind took it as "sleeping with". I don't give a rat's ass sideways who, what, or how many someone is schtuping. So much for half of your condescending post. Oh, did I just call you "names"? What the hell did you call me in your post because I disagreed with you? Sounds like muckraking to me.

I've been posting under Troublemaker for about 3 years. I don't know how long you're been posting under A Concerned Voter -- and I don't care -- because it's a common phrase that anyone can use. You should know know the Machine resorts to these tactics to crowd the field, leaving little room for the unendorsed candidate to win the primary. There's never been a candidate running in town that would cause me to spooge, whatever that means. And you should know the Machine DOES accuse the unendorsed candidates of doing the same things it does. So, you're upset because I'm stating the obvious. Got it.

You're funny.

You go on these rants every time someone calls you out and you always resort to the "5th grade" comments.

Cant you change your tune? Ever?

FYI, people pay their taxes to wherever their legal address is.

IF a persons legal address is in McKeesport, they are (at least in theory, paying wage taxes and school taxes to McKeesport.

THAT is what is important when discussing topics like who is running for what office....where they sleep means nothing.

I agree that someone living in North Huntington and paying taxes there should not be able to run for elected office in McKeesport or be on the council...but other jobs? Who cares as long as they are qualified!

The reason I brought up "sleeping with whom" is because others have brought this up, and your post infers that, even if not intentionally.

As far as your "genuine-ness"...... "Troublemaker" is an anonymous name ANYONE can post under....its not a registered account...so your post is no more "genuine" than mine.

I live in Coulter. Can I run for City mayor or council? We belong to the MASD so I consider myself a resident of the City by affiliation.

My son lives in DC but still keeps his clothes and new car in our Coulter garage. Can he run for constable in the City?

Same reason that the candidate controller, RDCM member, and constable does not have to sleep in the city. He contributed generously to MDC chairman, the senator, and the mayor. Enough said.

It is a catch me if you can situation in the Port.

So you're Pay Attention today, "Concerned Voter"? Calls me out? I'm the one pointing out the bullshit. What you consider a rant is my point-making when posters do not read what's written and go off the deep edge. YOU inferred my post meant sex. I never implied that it did, and so the topic goes 'way over there because the issue of having two "addresses" hits too close to the heart of the problem.

Somebody living in North Huntington and paying taxes there should not be able to run for elected office in McKeesport or be on council. I think everybody who works for the city, who's getting paid through McKeesport taxpayers, should be living in the city. And why should people who live outside the city be allowed on these authorities and commissions, paid or volunteer? What interest could they possibly have?

But they can live outside the city. And they do. And some people who live, reside, and pay taxes outside the city can just as easily list a relative's address in the city to make it all look nice.

And there's plenty of posting - and evidence -- that some people who work for the city and actually list their address and reside (is that better?) in McKeesport DO NOT pay their taxes.

Well stated and they are the City Solicitor, a Haler Heights councilperson and a Versailles Avenue councilperson not to mention several other employees and contractors.

The mayor and deputy mayor will not enforce the ordinances. And, the IRS will not seize their properties.

Where are you IRS and AG Kathy Kane when the Port needs you?

Keystone Municipal Services gives them a pass because they were ordered to overlook the friends of the machine.
