Shelly will own the city if he files civil charges. He was screwed!
No Weapon. No witnesses. No evidence whatsoever. Only the word of a "shady" dry cleaner.
I wonder who's head will roll for making that call?
Who made that decision?
And don't tell me a patrolman is to blame!!!
This wreaks of a set-up! The cleaner don't have the juice to send an innocent man to prison.

Unfortunately, the word of a shady dry cleaner is all that's needed for an officer to make an arrest. Liability would fall on the person making false claims,and not the city. Besides, who the hell would want to "own the city" anyway? Their not exactly doing so well these days.

Good points. I believe that culpability may fall on both if a court determines Shelly's civil rights were violated. Anyone have a number for Vic Walczak of the ACLU? B. |

If there is no evidence (no smoking gun) and no witnesses, you would be correct. Regardless of the source. Criminal or Non. We do have rights in this country. I believe Shelly's Civil Rights were violated in this case. Why wasn't he questioned by police? Why wasn't he sent to Riazzi who likely would have thrown these false accusations out and saved Shelly embarrassment and ptentially, the city a boat load of cash he looks sure to win in a civll suit? Batista have that much credibility? I've seen at least 5 or 6 criminal charges lodged against him from just reading Topix. The whole thing smells. I'd guess there is more to it than just the words of a dry cleaner. Wasn't Shelly critical of the police overtime thing? Didn't he announce for Mayor? You do the math. If Shelly can be a victim, can't we all? |

Hasn't the magistrate been called in before during off hours? His job is 24-7 isn't it? Held and questioned yes. Then it goes to character. If he's a known offender, I put him in front of a judge. Has the "victim" made false claims before? I'm not a cop, I don't know. In the case of Shelly, he has no history of violence that I know of and has never owned a gun. The accuser's word is questionable at best wouldn't you agree? It don't pass the sniff test. Maybe the person in charge who made the call to send him to county, where perhaps the judge does not know Shelly or the accuser, almost guaranteed he'd spend the weekend in the clink, should come forward and state his case and his reasoning. You still can't explain why Shelly wasn't at least questioned. Sounds like someone was trying to make him look bad. Who might have such a vested interest? Answer us all that. We're listening.... B. |

Benito did you know that Paul has four cases with charges lodged against him also listed on the criminal dockets. Listen we can go back and forth all day I ma just saying stop and find out for yourself before you post things that you have no idea about and thats no knock on you |

Anyone can have charges posted against them. List the docket numbers for the four you claim. I know of one. The verbal battle he allegedly had with Bill at the Retreat over the phone. Yeah, that guy is credible. Isn't he a felon too? Isn't that what keeps him from owning a liquor license? He files charges everytime someone looks at him the wrong way or is deemed a threat to take his meal ticket away from him. I forgot, the CITY cited Shelly for the yard. Doesn't Wachovia own that? Isn't that yeard THEIR responsibility. Ron Brooks is on record as saying that charge would be pulled once the yeard is cleaned. Looks like the front is clear. What's the problem? That summary citation, seems insignificant but could be part of a pattern of harassment by the city against a man who would be mayor. Wouldn't you agree? Really, i've got to go. Just started a new job, as armed security.(Yes, I do carry and am licensed to do so.) Can't be late. I don't have any big civil money coming my way either. But Shelly may. B. Well how do you explain the spent shotgun shell in the car when he was pulled over if he never owned or possessed a gun. As far as your statement that anyone can have charges posted doesn't that apply to everyone or just Paul. Part of your arguement that because eddie had 5 or 6 charges lodged against him he wasnt credibleso what does that say of a man with 4 charges lodged against him. No matter what they are they are charges I too looked at eddies cases and half of them are md cases which arent even charges as i stated earlier md cases can be when you posted a bond for someone else or an md can even be a renewal of a notary license. |

I do hear that a blank rifle cartridge, that one of his daughters grabbed on memorial day was found. No evidence of a shotgun shell. And what would that, a spent cartridge have to do with an alleged hand gun anyway?
If the police had evidence, it would have been presented. Cut the lies and the bullshit. You know Paul is clean. Again, show the 4 cases in question. You can't, They don't, like the smoking gun, exist. And you people call Paul delusional... Yikes! You're beaten! -Wayne |
