Wow...this is a necessary bus route if you want to get to Jefferson Hospital. And, Glassport needs bus transportation too. Why don't you try getting to work without transportation???

It's disgusting how people just don't think before they let it out. They should never have taken that bus out of the town. Elderly, disabled, people with small children, people who want to work but don't have a vehicle all depended on that bus. You glassport lifer should be seen and not heard.

Why? Why do we need bus service? We don't. All it's doing is keeping the lowlifes in towns like Glassport, McKeesport, and Clairton. Without bus service, they have to move somewhere else. Glassport has become a dropping off point for other towns miseries and troubles.

I don't know who you are Bob, but I have been traveling by bus to and from work every day of my life since breaking my back in 1994 (after first working incredibly hard to get out of a wheelchair) on a PAT bus, no less... and the loss of our local transportation has made my daily trek to and from my law offices in downtown Pittsburgh tedious and much more expensive than it has to be. I am a property owner in Glassport, pay my taxes and would like to be able to walk out my door and get on a bus in the near future. I am dismayed to see that you have no idea that there are working, law-abiding citizens in Glassport that need public transportation. Perhaps, it is you that should move from the area if you are so disappointed in your neighborhood.

I don't understand your comment and before you start saying that perhaps I am uneducated...I hold two college degrees and live in Glassport and am looking forward to having our bus back!

Get a taxi, move to a town that has bus service, or move to Pittsburgh. Then you have no problems. If you move to Pittsburgh, you'll have a shorter commute and can sleep longer. Problem solved. I think the taxpayers are fed up with taxpayer funded/subsidized transportation that's abused by 75% of the people who use it. You may be in the 25% who truly need it, but I don't want my tax money funding the other 75%.

And by the way, I would much rather see my money spent on a doggie park for the boro. Definitely a much better use of taxpayer funds.

If you lived in Glassport, then you would be qualified to voice an opinion on what we spend our tax dollars on, but apparently you do not, so your opinion is just another one that does not apply. As to sleeping longer, I guess you missed the part about a broken back. I am up every morning at 4:45 a.m. to do my physical therapy to allow my body to move to be able to be a productive citizen before arriving at my office before 8:00 a.m. and leaving no earlier than 6:00 p.m. I grew up in Pittsburgh, but chose to move to a smaller, quieter town and I like it just fine. I am curious to know how using a bus to get anywhere, anywhere at all is "abuse." Please explain.

I don't believe you are looking at the whole picture...I am not permitted to drive since breaking my back in 1994; therefore, I am forced to travel with a family member or on public transportation to get to my employment since working tremendously hard to get out of a wheelchair in 2000 and back to full-time. I go back and forth to downtown Pittsburgh daily to my law offices from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m. and have been doing so for about 4 decades now. On the flip side, having public transportation that will take the younger adults/teenagers out of our town to Century Square, Wal-mart, Century III Mall, etc., it gives them an opportunity to earn a wage rather than just hanging around the town waiting to see what will happen next; or worse yet, see what kind of excitement they can create on their own...oft times leading to REALLY BAD decisions. Having this bus back in town provides a great service to all involved. Heck, even the more motivated folks can get to the CCAC campus once again. Opens up a whole new scenario for those that are interested in improving their lot in life.

Your logic fails you miserably, therefore you need to give up on attempts at logic, everyone has their limitations some more severe than others. Have you considered applying for disability with your mental incapacity

You appear to be quite judgmental...is that how you decided on your identifying handle? This woman is not mentally incapacitated and fought through a debilitating injury to be able to walk in this world once again. I just happen to look at all sides of a situation before voicing an opinion. Maybe you should try that instead of attempting to point out what you consider to be an individual's flaws...I would not be too terribly proud of the handle "Idiot's everywhere." As for your rodeo clown comment...you seem to be off point.

No denial, just an observation from talking with some of the local teenagers that are so discouraged that they could not obtain summer employment in the local town and they have no way of transporting themselves to earn any cash to put toward a vehicle...just a vicious cycle of no productivity...but now the possibilities are endless. Please remember that these posts are issued from an individual who has survived a nearly life crushing injury and still walks, works, and raises a family, so I know first hand that all it takes to be successful is the opportunity and desire.
