The lame excuse Philadelphia Phix fiasco was a miscarriage of law enforcement by Attorney General Kathleen Kane and her advisors, IMO.

She got caught and exposed with her eyes wide shut.

Because of this clumsy fiasco, we should not cast any aspersions on the integrity of her office. This stigma will not migrate to Western PA and in particular not impact all the excellent work the AG and PSP completed to date.

AG Kane engineered 16 indictments of high profile and well connected culprits violating the gambling laws and other serious violations. It is speculated and word has leaked to the street that some of the indicted are plea bargaining. This could precipitate another round of indictments of other involved but not yet identified.

AG Kane and the PSP orchestrated a classic textbook sting on the esteemed and colossal state legislature.

AG Kane seemed to have three confidential informants well embedded in the nefarious operations. This is an excellent trump card and an immense source of evidence.

AG Kane had a falsely believed surreptitious meeting at an east 5th Avenue bar under surveillance. Some say that two of four participants had the characteristics of the Porkster and a colossal elected state official.

I would speculate that AG Kane has visions of nightmares if her office lets known culprits like the Porkster, Red, and the beleaguered councilman walk like the caught red-handed Philadelphia crooks.

The public uproar, national news media, and the private citizen filing criminal charges against three Phila elected state officials would be a replica of the eastern PA debacle.

The actions of her office are under the intense scrutiny by Mr. Bumsted, the author of "Keystone Corruption." He is a patriot and genuine crime fighter and an excellent reporter.

Consequently, her office will do the right thing in WPA.

This sounds like the ending to Benghazi, guns to mexican terrorists and getting Lois Lerner back before the senate committee . The beleaguered AG who figures protecting his race and being insulted by the white folk is more important than signing a paper that could start a parade of people to testify to their misdeeds in office , his included .

Holder should have been held in contempt years ago and the white people just wait around til all their hope is splashed away in the next presidential election and flushed down the sewer of what has become our federal government .

Mr Bumsted is doing the right thing but it will change nothing that Kane and the drunken bums in Harrisburg will do . They have the power . we have nothing but our mouths they use as a place to shovel schitte .

I am not sure I agree with you 100%. The news media attention by Mr. Bumsted has not gone unnoticed by the elected officials, national news media, and public. Some elected officals may call for a so called court of inquiry into the alleged AG wrongdoings.

A private citizen is filing unusual criminal charges against 3 of the Phila state elected officials. It is unusual for a private citizen to prosecute criminal charges because the AG opted against prosecutions.

The fact that a judge unsealed the records could provide the private citizen with the evidence to more forward. So far the cards seems to falling on the side of the good guys.

This Phila AG fiasco is an embarrassment to the Commonwealth and especially the AG's office.

My concern is how these unusual Phila incidents will impact, if any, the 16 gambling indictments and the rumored additional indictments and the 37th State Grand Jury proceeding entailing this matters.

I pray and hope there is no impact, and convictions or justifiable plea bargains ensue and more indictment fallouts result for the beneficiaries of gambling review.

Who received the $cash$ when the Porkster bought the City, MPD and MASD? That is what the AG and PSP should be investigating next if they are not already on it.

I was trying to be serious . Sometimes these things happen to the best of our officials . Just imagine gouing through law school . passing the boards and reach the highest judiciary office in Pa . When you look back on your younger years , all you missed out on , put your robe on and head out to pass judgement on a few dozen people and leave another few dozen hanging on what your judgement is going to do . No one can blame you if you had a few shots of tiquilla and blew the whole thing . Now the (i think) a DA from Phily is going to file his own charges despite what the gal did. little does he know the same gal has to sign the papers to have the charge go forward .

Are you suggesting or inferring that the AG's decision to drop the case was motivated to appease and entice the Phila back voters for her next election or her colleagues' elections?

Or, were there superior moral and legal justifications and points of law to respect?

With Squirrel Hill Tunnel rehabilitation to be completed this year, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will turn its attention to the Parkway West and the Fort Pitt Tunnels, where three major projects are planned for this year and beyond.

Before the work begins, PennDOT has a big decision to make -- repair the ceilings of the tunnels at an estimated $4 million to $8 million or seek $15 million to $20 million to remove them altogether.

A sagging section of ceiling was discovered March 14, prompting emergency lane restrictions and an overnight closure of the inbound tunnel that backed traffic beyond Interstate 79 at times.

"We do want to assure people that we're routinely inspecting it and there are no safety hazards," said Dan Cessna, PennDOT district executive.

Yes to the first question .

Holder had a chance to arrest the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation and he didn't do it .
I'm not so sure if there were 59 districts in the presidential election and not one vote for Romney ? Any moral or legal justifications should have been negated when she said " racism " was too involved in the sting to go forward ? Hillary will play the race card all over the country the way Philly has . It's votes that are already in the Dem corner . The Republicans can only lose votes by talking about cutting welfare , Wic, obama phones , bad nerves , back problems . We could get back to some kind of normalcy if we invaded the Ukraine and started a war with Russia .

You have the information by now Mr. Mayor. The Federal Grand Jury subpoenaed public works records on trash, scrapped vehicles and materials, and selling of tires to employees.

The state auditors have inquired about the Palisades operations.

The enforcement officials inquired about your mechanical device accounting practices.

You can dodge and lie but you cannot hide from the subpoenas.

Elsewhere in the affidavit, recorded conversations show Mr. Melocchi speaking to several friends and mentioning the letter and the conversation with Mr. Gergely.
"Ah, Gergely just called me, ah, he said,'Hey, Pork, we gotta get together next week.' I said,'What's up?' He said some lady dropped a letter out at his office and his staff go[t] it," Mr. Melocchi said, according to the affidavit.
"So Mark said to me we'll get together, we'll get a hold of this lady [and] we'll get a hold of this guy and we'll see what it takes to quiet them down."
In another conversation, Mr. Melocchi is recorded discussing in October 2012 a picnic for Mr. Gergely and state Sen. Jim Brewster, D-McKeesport. The catering was to have been handled by Daniel K. Carr, a McKeesport councilman and owner of the Viking Lounge, who was charged in the round-up Thursday. Mr. Melocchi said he would pay for the food, the affidavit said.
Mr. Brewster, a former McKeesport mayor, said he did not recall Mr. Melocchi ever contributing to his campaigns. He recalled that Mr. Melocchi had been on McKeesport's recreation board but could not recall who nominated him for the position.

Four men accused of a role in the March shooting death of a 10-year-old during an attempted home invasion in Washington, Pa., were ordered to stand trial today on homicide and related charges.

Anthian Goehring, 28, Douglas Cochran Jr., 18, Malik Thomas, 20, and Richard White, 18, all of Washington, Pa., were held for court this morning at a combined preliminary hearing before District Judge Ethan Ward of Washington County.

All are charged in the March 31 killing of fourth-grader Ta'Naiyah Thomas. Detectives believe upon hearing the shots, she was heading to her mother's room when she was struck by two bullets coming from outside the apartment door. She was shot in the head -- what authorities said was the fatal wound -- and in the shoulder.

Investigators said the four men conspired to rob Robert Lester, the boyfriend of Ta'Naiyah's mother, Shantye Brown at their apartment

How many of the 6 indicted gambling culprits or so up for non-jury trial on April 17, tomorrow walk? Or will the defense lawyers play the "continuance" card over and over again?

Let us pray and hope that AG Kane's troubles with letting the Phila elected officials escape indictments do not migrate to WPA courts.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident Tuesday in which a school van was struck with a bullet in Armstrong County.

A substitute driver was heading along Route 422 in Plumcreek shortly after 6 a.m. when she heard a "loud noise," and pulled over, thinking something might have fallen off the Dodge Caravan, said Trooper Thomas Karlo in the Kittanning barracks.

The driver was just beginning her route and no students were on the bus. She saw a bullet hole in the rear driver's side panel, and a mechanic found a bullet fragment, the trooper said.

In more than a decade teaching communications classes at Point Park University, Heather Starr Fiedler, an associate professor, has tried to assign real-world type projects such as designing a new logo for Microsoft or the Walt Disney Co.

But she always lamented that students still were completing “pretend work” that never reached the point of being utilized by actual clients.

That’s about to change with the Tuesday launch of Wood Street Communications, a student-run agency at Point Park that will provide public relations, advertising, social media solutions, graphic design, photography and other communications services.

The school won’t be selling the students’ expertise, however. Wood Street will offer its services on a pro bono basis to nonprofits that don’t have an in-house communications staff or can’t afford to outsource work such as brochures, branding campaigns or videos.

The payoff for students in the Downtown university’s School of Communication is they get professional experience in a for-credit class.

“It’s a real win-win,” said Ms. Fiedler.“We won’t accept money. This is a community service, and one of Point Park’s missions is to serve the community.”

Of course we all know who nominated him. It was the "I barely know him guy." The same guy who proclaimed that the Porkster was always there when the City needed him!

One Rule of Corruption is to lie when backed into a corner and the friendly news media will publish it. Snicker, snicker --- now back to the phantom 150 new businesses?

I think the same guy barely knew the late Dr. Risha although seen at lunch with him more than once during the Cornell School stuff.

I think the same guy barely knew the indicted councilman although his MDC endorsed him and was his replacement to czar the International Village.
