What this town needs...Let us start with new steps at ninth street by the old pool. Even thought the old pool is closed, many people still use the steps to walk to Shop-N-Save or Rite Aid. The steps are in DEPLORABLE condition and the years and years of patch jobs are crumbling away making walking the steps an adventure. Any fool can see they needed replaced 10 years ago, unless of course you go through town with your EYES WIDE SHUT like our current Clowncil and Mayor. No more patch jobs, they need replaced!
What we don't need is a $440,000 police hangout/hideout masquerading as a police station..

Don't worry that won't be an accessible area after I buy it up, all that property will be mine soon enough. I'm buying up a lot of property in town, dirt cheap, and back taxes forgiven, Hahahaha, a perk of being on council, and totally legal. Hahahaha, the borough can demolish those steps on tax payers dime, lolololol, again, oh snap, totally legal, hahahaha$$$$$$$$$$

Who is going to pay for the building of the new police station that the current mayor and council have planned? We only got half the money from grants. The rest is coming from OUR pockets.
2. Who is going to pay for the building of the new community center that the current mayor and council have planned? Where is this money coming from?
Glassport, Population: 4,470, Right now has 1 Chief, 4 full time and 10 part time officers to cover 24 hours of service for 1.5 square miles.
Clairton, Population 6,796, has 1 Chief 5 Sergeants, 23 Patrol Officers and 20 part time police officers for 3 square miles which is only twice our size.
If you do the math, we can all see we don't have sufficient police coverage for this area. Particularly during the 4-12 & night shifts.

Taxes are going to need raised, most of the town is heavily populated by seniors who just cant afford anymore pay raises. While each council member gets that 103.00 a month, it doesn't matter to them, they have your money to pay their taxes. That doesn't seem fair.
This mayor and council are going to bury this town in debt. We need other things besides new 1/2 million police hide out and a 125 K community center. The white trash and druggies will just ruin anything you build. This is the worst council and mayor we've had in over 50 years. Most were hand picked for a reason.

The seniors in this town cant afford anymore tax increases, they don't get that 103.00 a month to pay their taxes. we don't need a 1/2 million cop condo or a 250K community center. Where does this money come from. My poor mom need paying for food and medicine now , she cant afford anymore tax increases, where are these peoples minds at that damn mayor and council we have are all crooks. I demand they resign . Let them spend their 103.00 a month the rest of don't get that money.

vote all the bums out./

I do feel sorry for the seniors in this town that are living on 1980 pensions and social security checks, we all know that back then they made ends meet but look at the cost of living since then and all the property tax increase since the 80's.
I don't understand why council cant seem to realize these older people that paid taxes for the past 40 +years that lived in this town and kept it afloat will now see their income going down with a tax increase . Most of these older folks are living from month to month and the people that make that easy 103.00 a month have the gall to raise taxes on those who need every penny they can get to stay in their homes. When does compassion take a backseat to greed and over spending . You have a clear violation of law from a councilman that hires his OWN company to do work for the borough. You should be thrown in jail . It's clearly a conflict of interest and the other council people know it , that's why all of you should be in jail. While you keep sucking the life out of this town I hope you can all live with yourselves. Your time will come when you are no longer on council. Enjoy it while you can. You're all being bad mouthed, it's all over town.

I cant see how the scum sleep at night knowing this is a major first class ethics violation and subject to fines and imprisonment.
http://www.ethics.state.pa.us/portal/server.p...
What are the penalties for violating the Ethics Act?
Violations of Sections 1103(a),(b), and (c) are felonies and can result in a fine of not more than $10,000 and/or imprisonment for not more than five years.
Violations of Sections 1103(d) through (j), Section 1104, or Section 1105(a) are misdemeanors and can result in a fine of not more than $1,000 and/or imprisonment for not more than one year
Any person who obtains financial gain from violating any provision of the Ethics Act can be ordered to pay three times the financial gain into the State Treasury or the treasury of the political subdivision.
In addition to the above penalties, any person who obtains a financial gain in violation of the Ethics Act may be required to pay restitution plus interest to the appropriate governmental body.
Any person who willfully affirms or swears falsely in regard to any material matter before a Commission investigative proceeding commits a felony and shall upon conviction be fined not more than $5,000 and/or imprisoned for not more than five years.
In addition to any other civil or criminal penalty provided for in the Ethics Act, failure to timely file a Statement of Financial Interests or the filing of a deficient statement may result in a civil penalty of not more than $25 per day up to $250.
Are there protections for a complainant or witness?
No public official or public employee shall discharge any official or employee or change his official rank, grade, or compensation, or deny him a promotion, or threaten to do so, for filing a complaint with or providing information to the Commission or testifying in any Commission proceeding.
Any person who engages in such retaliatory activity commits a misdemeanor and, in addition to any other penalty provided by law, shall upon conviction be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned for not more than one year, or be both fined and imprisoned. See also, 43 P.S.ยง 1423 (Whistleblower Law).
