Oh no, here we go again.
Another Grand Jury probe into some dubious affairs in our beloved City. Now the feds are inquiring?
When will all this stop?
#22 Sep 13, 2013
Cherepko never told anyone about the report nor the request. No transparency from Mayor Cherepko nor John Jason Elash.
McKeesport - A city with a negative mayor and DUI city solicitor.
#23 Sep 14, 2013
Cherepko nor Elash never told anyone about the AG Kathy Kane subpoena for records pertaining the licensing of slots in the non-
Cherepko nor Elash never told anyone about the State Auditor inquiring about certain records for the Palisades.
Cherepko nor Elash never told anyone about who paid for their 2011 trip to the Steeler/Ravens game to M&T Stadium in Baltimore after Council President Cherepko bullied through the $24 million transaction with MACM and had most invested in M&T Bank at essentially no interest. Someone put their picture in front of M&T Stadium up on Facebook. So Mikey can not say he was not there with Elash, his brother, and all their spouses.
Cherepko nor Elash never told anyone about the dispositions of the MACM copper thieves and the private use of a fire truck by a fireman who is his friend.
Cherepko nor Elash never told anyone about the $60,000 salary for the inexperienced CD Director when the reduced the salary of the previous CD Director.
And then Mayor Brewster, never told anyone about the contents of the MPD overtime scandal investigation by the DA and what he did with it and why?
So much for City transparency, Love, Hope, Dignity, and Respect but a lot for secrecy and negativity.

The city solicitor is fine and so is the mayor..........this is old news and the gambling clusterfuk will be there too.
#25 Sep 14, 2013
How can this be old news when it has been veiled in a blanket of secrecy for some time?
The gambling episodes are just simmering. They have not reached boiling point yet. Much more new revelations to come. The John Q Public tippers has not weighed in yet.
#26 Sep 14, 2013
Any laws broken to go to football games or other events?
someone has to prove that illegal gambling money or over priced trash pickup kicked in for the trip and the game? LOL!
#27 Sep 14, 2013
Is it safe to assume if Porky's video machines are placed in a town and Nickolich is collecting the garbage that the town's elected officials and police officers might be receiving some sort of payola?
#28 Sep 14, 2013
Malinchak's determination and keen sense of justice are finally paying dividends in exposing possible corruption. Well done Mr. Controller!
#29 Sep 14, 2013
Nope, no law broken if they reported it on their annual financial disclosure reports. The reports are public information and the City Clerk is required by law to have them on file for your review.
What ever the legal sources of the money might be, they have to report it if it exceeds a certain amount.
Ask Attorney Gobel how he got nailed for trying to back date some of the reports. They fined him. It is up on the internet on the State Ethics Commission website.
If someone like the State AG and State Police with their wiretaps and confidential informants are able to prove that someone received illegal fees or kickbacks, then how this illegal money was spent is not the primary issue.
Do not forget that a former PW Director hand delivered the monthly payments to Nickolich as he admitted at a council meeting when questioned by Councilman McCall. Apparently, the City and Nickolich do not trust the UP Postal Service?
The PW Director said he was ordered by Mayor Brewster to hand deliver the check. Why would a high paid director be ordered to be a deliver boy all the way to Clairton?
#30 Sep 14, 2013
Looks like Nickolich was given the green light to bid low based on tonnage and recoup his losses by overcharging then kicking back a cash payment to Brewster when the check was given to Nickolich. Why else would an employee be expected to deliver a vendor check.
Can anyone else describe a similar situation where a municipal government hand delivers a check to a vendor?
Who is or was the McKeesport employee who hand delivered the check?
#31 Sep 14, 2013
You have to report what you do with your own personal money? Ummmmmmmm NOPE!LMAO!
#32 Sep 14, 2013
Looks like a lot of useless forthcoming expected ethics violations will come out of this ....the politicians have different laws than your ordinary local peons.
Now back to the Cornell sex scandal , IV ticket booth money and MPD overtime * sigh * LOL!
#33 Sep 14, 2013
Nope, but you have to identify your sources of income other than retirement incomes.
You have to report gratuities and gifts you receive over the amounts specified on the instructions sheet for the Financial Disclosure Form.
#34 Sep 14, 2013
You dont get it do you?
The mayor makes an income.....that amount is public record, what he does with his money is his business..man are you stretching !
If someone ( for instance a relative ) wants to give the guy & his friends a Xmas present to a football game he doesnt have to claim that.. My God are you that lame? Please take you bullsghit elsewhere. You sound like a very jealous person that didnt get appointed to a position???

The commission shall publish any such adjusted threshold amounts in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.

and of all the bullshit you copy and paste whats that tell you? LOL!
you still dont get it
#37 Sep 14, 2013
I get it clearly. Any elected official can spend his income any way on any thing he wishes. Pro football tickets, sports betting, etc.
However, if he or she receive any gifts or gratuities that exceeds the Financial Disclosure Form guideline or exceptions, it must be reported. Now what is that I do not get?
If M&T gave him tickets and paid for lodging and transportation, he must report it if it exceeded the monetary thresh holds.
I know it is too simple for you to accept and understand.
#38 Sep 14, 2013
It was the former Public Works Director who is the Chairman of the MACM. His name was mentioned in todays PG, front page article.
Mike and his puppet council gave the Public Works Director over $20,000 to retire which is unprecedented. Why?
The only other municipal government to hand deliver checks would be a Mayor that was a clone of Senator Brewster.
The spin doctors will say that they though the Mr. Nickovich was an non-profit charitable institution that needed the money immediately. I apologize for prewriting the story for the local news.
#39 Sep 14, 2013
Are you that dense? Or are you just upset because you supported the wrong people?? lol
#40 Sep 14, 2013
Sound like a political weather warning is predicted for City Hall.
