I know that people need low income housing. But when those who live in those houses and pay hardly anything and they ruin the place just like they do at Crawford Village and Harrison Village they should be thrown out or maybe these places should be torn down all they do in these place is shoot people sell drugs and make babies for the tax payers to take care of with wefare .............What do all of you think

"Glad you moved and are enjoying yourself, God brought you through!"

I agree that people need housing, I do not believe that all people are doing wrong. I think some people among them could do something wonderful in the long run. But we need to have higher expectations of those whom will hear. If people speak negatively about them consistently, many will only be living up to the expectations given, no matter where the housing is. There are some people who rely on money and riches as worthy. The better question is: Are they going to get to heaven? The relationship with God is of the most importance, regardless of what others think about you.

That being said, I agree fully that those who cannot afford to have children or have too many should not continue to do so. There are people from several houses, not from either of those places shooting others and is also not in the least acceptable. Selling and doing drugs is also unhealthy and body mind destruction, they need wise mentors, trusted people whom can help and is unafraid of taking risks. There are people doing this, and they definitely care for people and of all children. If they're positively encouraged, they will yield results of a positive nature.

If we would like positive progress, we need to be in living the positive example of such living. And then we must ask ourselves: Do we do anything other than live for ourselves, sacrificing time for what others seems futile of our lives into the positive sowing of others? This is, all opinions and judgments laid to the side for the best of the betterment of all.

God will then smile upon you, seriously speaking in all truth and wisdom. What are we doing that is pro-actively benefitting others than that which is expected of us? And are we only doing for those whom likes us, and our family? Recall, not everyone even gets along with they're own family members, but even those outside of Christ do well for they're own children, that "should" come natural and be easiest first. But extending love to ones fellow citizens, even ones you disagree with can become one within the body of Christ. What have we done this day for the benefit of someone else, no matter how small? Open a door, hold an elevator door for someone, speak the word of Christ and blessings, try not to be overly critical as everyone including myself can be?

Who is perfect? Anyone among us? Anyone without sin? no, no, and no.

Love your neighbor? Pray for your neighbor? Be more than the natural mind of worldly self empowering and egoistical thoughts and ways? yes, yes, and yes. We can do this, but it will take time to mend, and some retrograde motion may occur, but the relationship with God truly and intimately you yourselves with God means much! It comes when we all look into ourselves, and mourn for our own wrongs, and find the way though the thoughtful and heartfelt passage of Jesus whom is everlastingly the way into heaven, and intimately to God.

I will try not to go to far in depth, but read the Revelations and learn much. We need to absorb all that is currently happening now. We are being warned, will we heed the warning and drop all the ideas of who's hiding behind religion and look deeply within into ourselves. For how can a completely non-Christian mind be an honest and truthful judge to those whom are? They cannot and will not ever be in reality. Look for your own progress, and try to pull and help others. As with any educated learning, one must first be qualified. The only way to do so would be to first read all the Bible has to say, to be very certain that we are not improperly judging. Every day a 911 is committed in the form of abortion. I believe in educated limiting of children, but not in abortion.

Work by and for positively one another in heart, even though we can stray, we try to stay on the straight and narrow. There are people in church that are saved, but some are going to listen first, and others are changing.
When one person hurts, all hurt and in this knowledge we must all strive to be beneficial towards one another! If a person even considered someone they're enemy, and they lose a loved one: Would you condemn or mourn with them.(Lets think if the person died from a murderer was the circumstance for the "it depends" people.) To me it wouldn't matter because I would be concerned if they were saved and going to heaven or not.
Work together, how does anyone know who is pro-active or not but by pure assumption? Seek that you do something above and beyond that which is expected of the natural way of thinking then receive in earnest the worthy rewards of heaven will be opened up to you!
Self pride must then be set to the side, for the advancement of all and others outside of our own friendship circles. God bless you all!

If Crawford & Harrison were boarded up, would Rent A Center close?????

If I were a betting man, I'd say Crawford Village has much more crime than Harrison Village. For the hell of it, my wife & I rode through Crawford (with the windows up & locked) a few months ago. It's a dump. More than half of the buildings have windows that are boarded up, and doors that are boarded up. I didn't realize that it was no longer completely filled. That actually made my day, I'm thinking less scumbags in the area.

Are they both needed? No. The projects should be used as a stepping stone, like Welfare/Access, etc..... Affordable housing like this, and programs like Welfare & Access have turned in to entitlements for the lazy people who don't want to work, but, who want to live off of us hard working people. I had a job many years ago that took me into both projects as part of my everyday work routine. As a white man, I could go to Harrison Village any time, any day without any problems. I met some very nice people, both young and old. Crawford? It's a dump, turn the entire area in to vacant land. Plant trees, plant grass, return it to what would truly beautify an area. The city needs to play hardball, evict the scumbags that live there, boot them out. Make them get a job. Yes, a job. If they don't want to work, give them a broom/shovel, lawnmower, etc and make them work for it. The people that live there, survive on their rented furniture/tv's from Rent A Center. They look forward to their Access cards being re loaded so that they can buy beer, take their 7 kids to Wal- Mart to walk around the store and eat food, drink pop without paying for it, etc...... I am sick of paying for these people to live better than me, on my dime.

Not exactly. Its called community integration. They close down the projects and distribute the filth through out Grandview and Christy park.

A wise man recently told me that a wealthy mind and a poverty stricken mind start off the same. There are many success stories to come out of Public Housing. I can mention a local councilman, a PHD and a local Mayor specifically.

All it takes is a single thought, goal or mentor to light the spark of desire to rise one out of poverty.

Are there problems in our housing projects? Absolutely. But they are not confined there.

Do some people game the system? Absolutely.

However the last time I checked, I am still my brother's keeper.

Who gas gone through this life without needing help at some time?

Not me.

Ofcourse people need help from time to time.I guess all of the project dwellers are responsible for the fiscal crisis in this country huh?If I can recall it's those Whitecollar workers on wallstreet and ignorant rednecks like some of you in this forum who supported them as well as voted for em.So put that in you're pipe and smoke it.And keep you're archaic idea's,because the majority of americans have left you're kind in the wind.

Wonderful, and quite well spoken.

I recall several instances where someone would be needing of help, and by God help would certainly come without any logical means to happen!
