Jackson Energy is ripping people off, I switched to all propane gas and my electric bill jumped 80.00 how is that possible I even turned off appliances in the home the last month this time a year ago my bill was 44.00 this month it was almost 300.00. we are paying I bet for those workers to go out of state, somethings not right people need to complain the the kentucky regulatory commission .I have friends in london and KU there charges about 1/2 what we pay..

Your forgetting about that great show and free light bulbs we get once a year. An don't forget about the concert and ride up in bucket trucks and those fireworks. And don't forget about the way they shove those directors down our throat while we sit there and take it so we don't get bored with all that administration stuff. Don't forget folks, this is a cooperative that is owned by us...or is it?

And don't forget THEM BUCKETS we all get! Everyone's bill was way higher this month. The story is it's double or triple the month of January. I think U could not use ANYTHING electrical in January and U would still get a HUGE bill. We gotta pay for all the 'PERKS' them BIGWIGS are entitled to.

How bought the bosses driving the trucks home what company lets that go on, I can understand if someone is on call then yes drive a truck but all the bosses go out to Gray Hawk landing and every morning on is in there getting breakfast driving the truck from his house and we are paying for that with each electric bill.

Who do you think pays for all those people's electric lined up at the Daniel Boone office every month? Money has to come from somewhere to pay that and it comes right out of your pockets. Best thing to do is go solar and tell the electric company to stick it.
now what

but theres not enough sun in jan. to go solor so people will just have to sell more dope to pay the electric bill

I caught a JEC employee hiding out on my property...He was supposed to be working, but was getting paid for doing absolutely nothing....I told him if he was finished with his WORK he needed to leave.....That's part of what makes our bill so high...mine is over $100 more than the Dec. bill....

Is there any remote chance that any of you complete and total dumb*asses (ie the ones pissing and moaning about their electric bills) bothered to take a few minutes to compare kwh consumption changes from this month's bill to last month's or any other previous month's bills??? Any chance that anyone compared the average daily high & low temperatures from the current billing cycle to previous billing cycles??? I imagine not. Piss, Moan, Gripe, Complain, Belly Ache, and Piss & Moan some more.......

Has everyone checked to make sure all their sockets have light bulbs in them? If not, the electricity could be leaking out the hole, LOL!

Doesn't the government regulate the cost of energy? I'm not sure how all that works, but I do know electricity everywhere is outrageous. Older people staying warm is an issue; they are reduced to turning the thermostat down so they can pay the bill, then have to freeze anyway...there is so much wrong with that picture.
oh shucks

One can expect their electric payment to always be higher for the month of Dec. which we receive and pay in Jan. as the way they figure it is we all used more wattage from burning Christmas lights.
So sad but oh so true.
I hadn't thought about what Honest Babe has post, I have a few bulbs out around here and I bet she is right, the kilowatts running out from these light sockets is only a waste of money, lol.
I think I will try and screw a bulb in each of my ears because I think I am losing brain power from some part of my body and it sure isn't out thru the mouth.
Thanks Honest Babe, that statement will most likely be my big laugh for the day.
