Ky. Sheriff's Association has contacted the Fiscal Court and told William O that they were not legally empowered to create the county police force. It also said that the sheriff is the only one that can appoint personal for court security. Also sheriffs have police powers and the authority to arrest which cannot be denigrated by the fiscal court. Is something going to be done to put a stop to this maddness is this county?

I'm not a Peyman fan but he's not as guilty as Smith wants everyone to think! Its more Smith than it is Peyman. Smith is the one that needs to be put on the road! 99.9% Of everything in Mckee needs to be put on the road, get rid of the good ol boy system bring in people that are interested in seeing good happen for the county instead of their pockets!!

I will agree to that as well, but peyman has still not attempted to do the job he was elected to do...putting aside everything he is accused and rumored to have done...so if he wasn't going to try to do his job...why did he want it? That alone shows me that he had his eyes on other sights..so for my part, they should start with him and just keep on going ....they could call it spring cleaning!! LOLOL

"CATWOMAN" How can you think he's on his way out? The Ky Sheriff's Association is backing the sheriff!! They are the ones saying the fiscal court is in the wrong. Peyman is not as guilty as William O want people to believe but Smith is just as guilty if not more so. I didn't vote for Peyman or Fee but I did vote for Turner.

I think it's about time for all the truth to come out. On William O and Peyman, take away both of their bonds if they are guilty..

William O is a control freak, its his way or the hwy...

I was mostly joking "Catwoman", I mean, what kind of oddity is a place that doesn't have The Jackson County Sun :) However, in the past I have ran into a few questionable characters (not meaning that in a bad way, lol) that posted occasionally on the Morristown forum. Also, it has been a few years ago, but once when I was there it was really odd, everywhere I went in town there was this same person there. Coincidence I guess, but it was 5-6 different places scattered all over town, LOL.

Keeps getting deeper and deeper. Wonder if that sheriff association knows that he wasn't paying his deputies or court security because he got cut off of his gravy train. He can blame no one but himself for allowing a trashy woman STEAL. He will keep on keeping on until he gets in the deep end of the water. As far as him not being allowed to execute his duties that's a joke. He don't want to do anything more than he is doing now and I'm sure that can be proven. What a web we weave when we practice to deceive.

It dont really matter what he has or has not done if someone gets hurt at the court house. With a illegal police force for security the county will be sued.

No, it isn't about "big foot"...
John Shaffer was Shoshone Police Chief for about 15 years. As of January, 1986, he and Dennis Peyman (fairly new to the department at that time) made up the two-man Shoshone City Police Department located in Lincoln County, Idaho.
In addition to Peyman’s dog attack lawsuit against the sheriff/county/others…and Tommy Standlee’s lawsuit against both county and city police departments, as well as county prosecutor (remember this name) Doug Rose, which were going on around this time…there were other things going on as well.
In January, newly elected Shoshone Mayor Ridinger, as soon as he took office, wanted to appoint Peyman Shoshone Police Chief (a political appointment each January) in place of 15-year veteran Chief John Shaffer. Shaffer was supposed to be kept on at the same pay as Peyman’s assistant. This led to a city council meeting running until around 2 a.m., a city councilman who had only being sworn in for two hours resigning, and eventually, public protest, recall petitions, etc...
It was soon decided to keep Shaffer as chief; however, January 30th, Shaffer resigned from the department saying demands which had been placed on him in the past few weeks were affecting his health and job performance.
Now, at this time, it also comes out that City Councilman Baltazor,(personal opinion: seemingly a decent guy) who was also a federal fish and wildlife officer, on January 15th had ordered Police Chief Shaffer to investigate allegations, rumors, and innuendo circulating about the moral and professional behavior of then Assistant Police Chief Dennis Peyman.
Baltazor and Shaffer agreed between themselves to not bring in an outside investigator, but to handle the matter within the department. Baltazor stated that some rumors concerning Shaffer also surfaced in the weeks following Shaffer’s reappointment.
When Shaffer abruptly resigned, he turned the UNFINISHED REPORT over to Lincoln County Prosecutor Doug Rose (more about him later.) Mayor Ridinger and Councilman Baltazor asked Rose for the unfinished report but Rose said it should not be turned over to the city yet and he wanted to continue the investigation. Rose would not comment about the investigation.
Mayor Ridinger said Rose told him SOME POSSIBLE CRIMINAL FELONY ACTIVITY was indicated by Shaffer’s findings about Peyman, but nothing concrete in the report. Therefore, Peyman was then appointed chief.
Now, does anyone wonder if this investigation into Shaffer’s report was ever completed by Rose? In August 1986, Doug Rose resigned from his “stormy 6-year term” in office that had saw him serve time in jail. Then, Lincoln County really had no steady county prosecutor for quite some time after that.
Now, skip ahead to June, 1994, former Chief John Shaffer is facing charges of lewd conduct with a minor. According to one newspaper report, the Lincoln County allegations involve numerous incidents from July 1, 1984 to January 1, 1987, which, during most of this time, Shaffer was police chief in Shoshone. He was sentenced to 8-years in the penitentiary.
