There is a person i love very dearly on drugs. this person lies every time i ask them about it. I don't know what to do, can someone give me good advice to talk them into quitting or going to rehab?

just come out and tell them to quit doing drugs and quit lying all the time. tell them that they may think they are fooling you but they are the one that looks like an idiot homosexual lover by lying

someone some time back on here who had gone thru. a serious problem and quit, suggested "intervention".
family and friends confront them in a caring but firm way letting them know you love them and are concerned what will happen to them if they stay on the road they are taking. It`s better to catch them when they are at least somewhat at themselves enough to listen. Life is much better once they get off the stuff and learn to live without it. MAKING THEM MAD BY CALLING THEM NAMES IS DEFINITLY NOT THE WAY.

Lock them in the bathroom for about three days. That should give them enough time to make it through detox, then stick them in a wooden crate and ship them to Singapore where drug possession is punishable by death.

Oh, I see now! you don't have children, either you do and they didn't take the drug route or there's no love in your heart for your children. Please be honest and give one of the honest answers.
A family that haven't been thru it (drug affair) can not explain to another on what should be done.

I guess you haven't seen anything abut what goes on in rehab centers? The first thing that has to be done in order to help someone get off drugs is to well...get off drugs! The only difference in what I said, and what happens at an expensive rehab center, is they give them a pill that simulates a drug without actually being a drug, and the person gets to walk around and socialize in a very restrictive environment. So unless you have a lot of money, and or the ability to stay with someone 24/7 for about the first 72 hours of detoxification, then shut up and pay attention.

if the law would crack down on these low life drug dealers that are too sorry to go out and find a real job this would stop alot of the drugs. i think its a crying shame that these dead beat drug dealers make it better than a hard working person only to harm the people we love and our children they obviously dont care whom they harm, or not realize the bloods on their hands if they sell to someone and they overdose. Look at Gerald Anderson, hes been selling and still selling still not caught, selling to whomever to get a buck while letting his girlfriend take the fall for it before, i guess he can get away with it since hes friends with the sheriff. We need someone in office that care about our future and our kids future not someone out trying to make friends and get laid.

Drugs are rampant because we turn our heads at the ones that have a little money or clout. We don't fully prosecute them and let them habitually repeat crime after crime time after time and ignore it because it is the comfortable thing to do.

No one could have said it better.
I don't know why some children turn to drugs while others don't.
Rehab is good but it is extremly expenseive and what i've watched on T.V. the largest part will turn back to drugs and sleep on the streets when the family turns away from them. It's sad but for me, I see it getting worse rather than better and this is why each family needs to be ready to protect their home. Heaven forbid me to have to blow someone out the front door and one doesn't know what one would do but as for now, my mind is set to blow them out the door and hopefully alot faster than what they entered and yes, I do have children.

The person I'm talking about actually got hooked on them because first they had a nervous brake down, then surgery and then had a pretty bad accident. Honestly No matter how bad i was in pain i wouldnt take pills. I had a c section and after the meds that they had to give me for the surgery wore off i didnt touch another pain med. they even tried to force me and i wouldnt. I dont personally think any one needs pain meds because its all a state of mind. If you think your going to be in horrible pain you will be. Just like if you think your going to be sick you will be. Its the doctors fault. They give out pain meds for just about anything. oh u stubbed your toe heres script for oxy cotton. And the pain clinics will give meds out to anyone. u could go in there complaining about a head ache and youll leave with 10 or 12 different script that wayyy exceed what you could possibly take in 3 months! if you ask me doctors need to tighten there belt and not give away meds like theyre candy!!! It makes me SICK!!

Well people like you make me sick!I have never been a drug addict in my life, nor have I ever even tasted an alcoholic drink, but, I have certainly had to take my share of pain pills, and the pain is not in my head.Let me tell you that if you get in enough pain, you will be begging for pain meds.If you are in good health, and not in excruiating pain every day of your life, then you should thank the good Lord above. As for going to the Dr. with a headache and coming out with 10 or 12 scripts, that is plain stupid and a lie. Not everyone takes pain med. to get high.

I was a heavy drug user for many many years. My family and friends have always been there and always will but in all honesty I didn't even quit when my kids was born at least not right away. You want the truth here is the truth that person is going to have to want it for themselves. There is nothing that you can ever do that will ever convince them. They have to want to be sober. It took me losing everything and almost my own life for me to wake up. The hard times will come believe me. You have to look at yourself and realize it is not your fault. That is the lying thieving drug in that person. You can beg an plead until you are blue in the face but it won't help until that person is ready to stop.

Also you can't blame the drug dealers for everything cuz lets face it people they wouldn't be in business if there wasn't business to be had. Supply and demand. They are being sought out by people they are not standing on a street corner forcing them to take drugs. They hide while the people go to them. While people need help unless it was someone in their shoes it won't happen.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aries

You're idealistic and impressionable today, and want to see the best in everyone. Look straight past their faults, pretending they aren't there; concentrate on their good points instead. If a new relationship gets off the ground now it will always be characterized by an aura of romance and fantasy, and a slightly otherworldly quality.
