My husband talks to himself a lot more than he used to. Is this sort of thing normal? Should I call to get him an appointment with a counselor or someone? Are there any drugs to stop this sort of thing from progressing? I am growing deeply concerned about this. And yes, he does answer himself. Does anyone know of any home remedies for this ailment? Is this a sign of a worse problem? Can drinking too much diet mountain dew cause this? Is this problem catching? Any nice answers will be appreciated.

There's nothing wrong with talking to yourself. I'm the nicest person I know and enjoy a stimulating conversation every now and then.

most people talk to theirselves it help sort out things.
how old is your husband, what kinda of things does he say when he is talking to himself
as for diet mountain dew with artificial sugar who knows studies have not been performed on this enough to know.
is he on any kind of medicine
has anything happen within his life, a death of a love one, lost a job ect any big changes happen
HOME REMIDIES can be harmful please be careful if you start using them
when in doubt please seek help at your primary doctor discuss this with him if you are concerned
my grandfather started talking to his self and it was because some of his medicine the doctor had give him
if you go to the doctor be sure to bring in all his medicine
if i were in your shoes i would go to the dr

Maybe he doesn't know you aren't listening to him when he is talking. Maybe he thinks you are listening or maybe he has an imaginary friend he is talking to.

Wife phobia is the cause of this! Any man knows a woman will drive a man insane resulting in his talking to his self! Which is usually a more intelligent conversation than he could have with the wife!!!!

How old is he? Could this be the onset of dementia associated with age? Has there been any head trauma? Could he have been poisoned by something?

I hope you find the answer and everything works out great for you.

On a lighter note......

It is March, and about time for that nice smooth home grown from last November's harvest to come out of curing. So maybe, and I hope this is the case, maybe he just got some good smoke......

Is he smiling more than usual?
