I love the way the Amish people live. They just have simple lives without any of the outside world. They take care of each other and their neighbors.

I dont know if it was this preacher or not but it was in that area.During the trial the family said the preacher preached against short sleeves and he took their clothes out in the yard and burned them then he preached against TV and he took the TVs out in the yard and shot them. Then he preached against short pants and a argument resulted in his son being shot to death. The preacher was against murder but with that much power it led to murder. If your preacher tries to control everything you do it starts turning into a cult.

Well... I would like to ask you what did the church you attend believe 50 years ago? What did they consider sin? Has it changed today? Why?

There isn't anyone holding a gun to anyones head to go to that church. Ask the people that use to go there. They didn't have a bit of trouble leaving.

My point is this... I believe in Holiness. If the people dont like it, they dont have to attend a holiness church. If anyone is doing it because the pastor they aint right to begin with. I believe in holiness because i prayed through to those convictions long before i had a pastor.

Your definition of holiness could be different than someone elses.

I know most of you think that they are so decieved and under bondage. But I would like to say this. They are different about a few things, but that is what THEY choose. They are different from the world, but isnt that what the bible says is suppose to happen? They are the most joyful people i have ever come in contact with. We can talk bad about their church if we want, but I cant because they have what most people are looking for in every other church. They are not tied down to this world like most are.

Most people if not all judge. We`ll never be perfect down here but I wish we could.I don`t think I`m very smart but from what I`ve read in the bible the past few years it takes faith and just believing on Jesus is all it takes to move on to the better place.I don`t think jewelery or shorts or the preacher will help with anything.Read for yourself like I have.

Listen at them talk about people and judge and see how they are.And also look at how everybody eats including me and anybody else and see if you think anybody`s without sin.I think we all glut or judge or both.

Listen, I understand that you just don't believe it and thats fine if you think so. BUT, if you think running down a church is right, i dont care whos it is, you are wrong. Bond Holiness church didnt come to topix to judge or say anything to anybody. You came to them. I know them. I think they are great people with great faith.

Faith People have you read the bible cover to cover?

Fathers killing sons who dont follow religeous customs. Women who aren't allowed to wear jewelry, make up, and are expected to cloak themselves in clothing that covers all of their bodies. Marriges that are only allowed among members of the same sect. Charismatic religeous leaders that lay down a set of strict rules deemed from their own interpertations of a holy book. Wow, this is the kind of stuff one would expect to be happening in Afghanistan, not right here in Jackson County. Next thing you know we'll be seeing women walking around here in burkas and there will be Sunday, after service, public stonings down in front of the courthouse.

Gospel Pie, you must not have read the above posts from the people that have experience with Bond Holiness Church. There isn't a leader telling Bond what to do or not do.

There was a lot of Holiness churches in Jackson Co long before John Gabbard ever started preaching. The difference was that the baptist church at that time had a pretty good standard on sin too so it wasnt that big of a deal.

The problem is people don't have a clue about what they are talking about. Most of the people with all the stories have never stepped foot in the place.

Year ago, people that wasn't Holiness, would disown you if you started going there. I think they were embarrassed that their family would act like that. They thought people would talk about them for having a family member involved. Anytime someone is different, they won't be accepted.

I don't adhere to all the teachings, because I don't think we should live under bondage. Jesus came to set us free. BUT, that doesn't mean that we can live loose lives. We are to dress in a modest way and not live in extremes. Jut use common sense. If a woman dresses in a way that is indecent, she will get men to look....but we must ask ourselves why. If the motive in your heart is to draw attention and make a man look....I believe it is sin.

I dont think all holiness churches should be judged on the same platform as the bond church. Most holiness preachers try to teach right from wrong but they dont try to run your whole life. Most times if you go to a small church you will find people that really care for each other.Bigger churches with bigger crowds more donations makes for more power and in some cases more corruption.Sand Springs holiness,Deer Stable baptist are just two fine examples of small churches that care.

Sand Springs Holiness a fine example of small churches that care? Get serious! My dad and his entire family attends Sand Springs church and I could tell you stories of stuff they do and cover up for each other that would curl your toes!! You obviously know nothing about them or are not from the area if you believe what you just said. I've been exposed to them my whole life and I know what I've seen firsthand and trust me its not a fine example of caring. Did you know, they think that only the holiness churches are going to heaven? That's not what my Bible says, but its what they believe. I will not attend that church, ever. I've found a home church where if someone is sick, you have a dozen people calling to check on you. We pray together as a group when a member is struggling, at the alter, holding hands. When someone loses a family member, we all lose a family member. When someone has a new baby, we're all rejoicing. We have a preacher that's not afraid to get on toes and preach on sin, even if he knows a member's relative is commiting that sin. He doesn't shy away from addressing these issues that others turn their heads from. That's what a caring church does and that's not Sand Springs. They don't even believe in paying tithes and giving a portiong of what the Lord blesses them with back to the church.....I could go on and on, but you get the point.

No I don`t read it.I study it and have for a few years. No I don`t judge any church because I have family and loved ones that go to all churches.I know for a fact there is some of the finest people in the world that goes to all churches.I just can`t stand for people to use religion to boost there own self up and think they`re perfect and going to heaven based on I DO THIS I DO THAT.Do you know if you eat more than you should that you are just like somebody that uses drugs or alcohol(We all eat to much right?)?Even if you are the perfect weight and don`t drink you should always put yourself lower than people who do(Also we all judge way too much right?).You don`t agree? These churches and people (including some of my family and probably yours nice people we all love)think they are perfect.Do you think that`s the truth or are we all the same?I think we`re all the same. We`re all flesh don`t you agree? If you can walk on water respond to this message and tell me what creek or ocean you`ll be at because I`d like to see.I can`t walk on it either so I guess we`re all human brother or sister.

Faith People, i really understand where you are coming from in this post. I am not saying that I or anyone else never fall, but at the time you fall, you get back up as quick as you can and go on. When you study your bible, study romans 5-8. Take it for what it says. It really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I am just trying my best to walk as close to God as I can because after reading my Bible, thats the only people who are going to heaven. I have been to a lot of different churches and the Holiness church is where i have found the most help. I dont want to present anything of my own to God or anyone else here on earth. I just want to show you how God has helped me.
